A simple 25 knuckle push up set outside
    Luckonluck L.

I've asked over and over and over, and obviously at this point, management does not care how dirty their floors are. I've asked on and off for over a year for them to clean their floors better outside and around their heavy bags. The mats are always totally filthy and once you touch them, the residue is impossible to wash off. Ruins shoes, blackens your feet, and anything else you touch it wirh. These pics are literally from 25 knuckle push-ups one time: if you touch the floor outside, whatever touches it, it will be stained and black. So gross and it's why I normally go to Uprise or somewhere else where they clean their floors. I love Golds building, culture, and equipment, but I can't train there properly because it's soooo disgustingly filthy on the mats outside...not sometimes, all the time. Set a bag down, a shirt, or touch the floor...and you'll see exactly what I'm talking about. Let alone try to kick the bag barefooted. The black grime literally takes over a week to get off your feet no matter how you try to clean them. I've tried the wipes at the gym, showered, scrubbed with aloofas, used rubbing alcohol...nothing gets it off except time and I can't get Gold's management or ownership to care enough to do anything. If you're gonna touch the floor, I recommend another gym or staying inside.

During my time in Gold's Gym, I have always experienced excellent service. I feel safe here. Thank you for your dedication and authentic professionalism.

The Mecca of Bodybuilding. So much history at this gym, and so many great have trained and do train here. This is iron paradise, and the energy of the gym is always on point to have an incredible training session. A wide array of machines, squat racks, everything you need to be the best version of yourself.

if you're a fan of bodybuilding, there's not a better place to visit! i've only gone as a visitor. not really sure what it would be like to go there on a daily basis. however, i'd suspect that for myself, i wouldn't mind as the equipment works very well for a bodybuilders needs. the gym is clean, spacious, and pretty well organized. in the few times i've been here, i haven't noticed an overload of people. that could just be a result of me being lucky or perhaps it's never crowded. either way, it doesnt take away from the fact that this gym is pretty amazing.

The nicest gym! Lots of simulators!! Friendly peoples and nice atmosphere in this area

Posing in the main room by the Olympia photos.

I was visiting Kah-Lee-Four-Knee-Uh (as the 7 time Mr. O Arnie would say) for the past two weeks and stopped in at this golds many times ! After all, this is the most famous gym in the world! I always got a phenomenal pump, and utilized every piece of equipment I could to get in a killer workout. The staff were helpful, and one even showed me how to use a leg machine I'd never seen before when I inquired (perhaps a pendulum squat?) I even got to meet some big fitness and film legends, who were also there to get in their lift for the day! But, I was careful not to interrupt them during their set or in one YouTuber's case, while he was filming! I'm taking one star back because there is this absolutely incredible photo of a ton of bodybuilding legends that is even autographed that is unfortunately stationed in one of the bathrooms in the main room where my photo was taken. That should certainly be displayed more prominently! I was also hoping for even more classic imagery (though there are many many awesome and iconic photos any student of the sport will recognize) and a little less of some of the more ancillary stuff. So please get that photo out the bathroom and onto a prominent wall!

I now see that what I was missing was a mature, seasoned, cool, kind and knowledgable trainer. Within a year (but it happened within a few months) Michelle has taken me from a person who not only dreaded weight training and even the gym, but felt bad about being so inconsistent. She makes workouts fun, varied, and is committed to correct form -- she can explain as little or as MUCH about anatomy and fitness as you want, as she goes deep and stays current. Most of all, she knows how to work with and motivate a middle aged woman like me going through menopause! I feel more appreciative of what my body can do and notice when I'm hiking or in yoga my stamina and strength is so so much better than it was before I started working with her. And, if it matters, she is also very flexible with schedule changes, which has been a huge plus for me as an entrepreneur that is often shifting with client needs. I highly recommend her to all fitness levels and anyone who wants to improve strength, flexibility or mobility. I've trained with Jen in both one-on-one and group settings for about six months. I've always been an athlete but was feeling a bit unmotivated and a little unbalanced with my current routine. Jen's knowledge of fitness, yoga and anatomy helped me improve my form, strength and mobility. Many of the exercises targeted tiny imbalances that I would never have trained on my own. Due to my modern lifestyle, job, and general stress, Jen has helped me regain lost mobility in my neck, shoulders and hips. By teaching me how to relax overly tense muscles and fire underutilized muscles, my overall body began to move and feel better. This has helped me improve my athletic performance, lose a clothing size and become much stronger. No matter what your fitness goals are, Jen can help you reach the next level. I've seen her work with clients from all backgrounds, injuries and fitness levels and recommend her for everyone. I sent her some friends who never workout, did not have a good sense of fitness and were too afraid to start working out due to injury. She's got them completely motivated about fitness and has helped provide them with the tools they need to move their bodies safely and effectively. Jen will keep you challenged, mix it up and will never let you slack on quality form. Her workouts utilize many tools from body weight, free weights, kettle bells, gym equipment, etc. She always keeps it fresh and can adapt the workout depending on how your body is responding. Always a true professional, Jen goes above and beyond in helping her clients. My time with Jen has definitely been an investment in my health and I cannot thank her enough for how strong she makes me feel. I've trained with other individuals before, but Jen Dapper's definitely the real deal and the only one I've sent friends and family to.

But as far as the full CrossFit experience, this gym does not deliver. Coaching: This was the biggest problem here. While a few of the coaches are great (Chelsea and Greg), this was the exception, not the rule. Two big issues: (1) Firstly, there are so many coaches and they don't seem to have set schedules, so it's impossible to know who will be leading your class. This made it tough to build relationships with them, and also made for a disjointed experience since every coach's instruction is different. (2) Secondly, a lot of the coaches are disengaged and seem uninterested in connecting with members. When I joined, *most* of the coaches didn't even bother to introduce themselves to me when I was a new member in their class. Some never did the whole time I was a member. It often felt like they were there to get paid, and that was that. Programming: The WODs here were all over the place. We would often work the same muscle groups multiple days in a row (e.g. heavy Clean + Push Jerks one day, then heavy Strict Press the next), or we'd work full body for no reason (e.g. pairing heavy back squats with heavy bench press). This deterred me from going daily since the muscles in question would often be too sore from the day prior. After 6 months of working out here, I stayed static at best and may actually have regressed in my ability. Community: Most clients here are friendly enough, and there is diversity in age, body type, and ability, which I liked. However, members at both locations don't go out of their way to chat to newbies; the regulars have their cliques and aren't interested in branching out. Additionally, there were rarely partner WODs or other intentional efforts from coaches / management to facilitate relationship-building among members. Unfortunately, I just did not find any real sense of community here.
