Really enjoyed my experience at this yoga studio during my Labor Day weekend vacation. I was greeted warmly and shown around. I really liked the big center area, big bathrooms, and then multiple Yoga studios. The studio is very large. My instructor was very calm present, gave great cues, and had a great full body easy flow. Parking was on the street or in the parking garage under the building. read more

Such a wonderful place, run and owned by this amazing couple. Great service and amazing classes !!!

Summary: A soulful, fire-lit Saturday experience blending heat, movement, ritual, sound, and community. First Impression: Check-in happens at a reception desk, where you're given a small chip to place at the head of your mat for the teacher to collect. It's a simple ritual, but it immediately signals that you're stepping into something more mindful than just another workout. The Space: The studio feels clean, modern, and calm. The foyer is spacious and comfortable, with plenty of room to sit, chat, or simply linger between classes. The Class (Heated Power Vinyasa): Beau opened class by sharing that we're approaching a Leo fire moon and closing out the Year of the Snake, a time to burn through what no longer serves us and have the courage to be seen and shine. It was intriguing and immediately set the tone for the practice, especially as we moved through both the external heat of the room and our own internal fire. We sealed the intention with a collective Om, and the flow unfolded naturally from there. The sequence built steadily and rhythmically, moving us around the mat in a fluid, dance-like way. Crow, frog stand, reverse dancer, and options to kick out in Cross-Body Mountain Climber were woven in beautifully. It was high energy without feeling frantic, and the class honestly flew by. As we moved through the heat and effort, it felt natural to visualize shedding layers that no longer serve us. As the class came to a close, it felt like something had been worked through, not just worked out. We ended with a collective Om and an invitation to stay for the next class. The Class (Heated Yin with Sound Bath): The transition into Yin was seamless. Jenny from My Daily Harmony (https://www.instagram.com/mydailyharmony/) joined with sound bowls layered over beautiful music, including James Blake's I Need a Forest Fire. Beau kept the poses grounded and supportive, allowing the sound, music, and light in the room to do their magic. I was completely carried away by the experience. The Teacher: Beau is clearly a dancer, and that shows throughout her teaching. The sequencing had a natural rhythm, and the class felt like a fluid dance rather than a series of poses. She cues in English, her pacing is steady and rhythmic, and she creates a container where strength, playfulness, and release all come through. Overall Experience: After Yin, Beau brought us back and invited everyone outside the yoga room for tea (she personally made) and oracle cards. We gathered around a table, pulled cards, shared the guidebook, reflected, and chatted. It was playful, warm, and a moment of connection that echoed the themes of release, courage, and authenticity woven through the entire experience. The Vibe: Grounded, intentional, and communal. Movement, meaning, and connection come together naturally. I love this studio because of the variety, quality, and consistency it provides in the classes and instructors. They have different yoga classes, meditation classes, mat Pilates classes and offer excellence in all of the experiences you have here. Thanks for being a great resource and temple ...a great place to reach my heart and soul through movement and stillness. read more

Shefayoga is the best yoga studio in West Los Angeles. I have tried several and it has provided me with the best overall experience by far. The staff is amazingly warm and friendly and make you feel welcome to the Shefa community right from the beginning. The studio is the nicest and cleanest one in town. Multiple rooms, all spacious and well maintained with nice décor, provide the setting for amazing teachers and numerous classes throughout the week. Yancy Schwartz, for example, is truly as skilled a yogi as you will ever meet and his classes are transformative. Val Chang's Heated Rocket Vinyasa is an incredible class that helped me see where I was in my yoga journey and helped me ascend to a higher level. Dan Ward provides an all-around great experience in his classes. My favorite time of day is when I am at this yoga studio. read more

Of all of the yoga studios I've attended throughout the years, shefayoga remains by far the most special and feels like coming home. Leah's renowned Heated Power Vinyasa will demand all you have and will make you stronger though a challenging and playful flow and encouraging words of intention. Every instructor in the space has a truly unique style and cares deeply about their craft, and the studio offers many different classes - so you can pick your own journey and leave refreshed and invigorated. A truly exceptional experience every time! read more

I don't recommend getting involved with this studio. They'll text you for a decade without hope of being taken off their list. I've tried everything including speaking with a manager about being taken off their list. Nothing. Still getting texts from them. I've lived about 2.5 hours from Shefa Yoga for many years now. read more

This review is for teacher Kari and the heated Bikram / 26&2 classes. I have found it difficult to find good Bikram classes on the West side. Some studios are overheated or extremely crowded. This class is a gem. Kari really pays attention to each student. She offers personalized suggestions throughout the class which I have found really helpful. She has a great attitude and is really pleasant as a teacher. The studio is peaceful and quiet. The only thing I don't like is it doesn't have real dressing rooms, but it does have space to shower and large bathrooms to change. All in all this is a great find. read more

Amazing staff, class and instructor. This was my first ever hot yoga class and I can't say enough good stuff about this place.

**I am updating this review because since then Omar emailed me apologized about the mistake and ensure this would never happen again and they also offered me credit for three classes at the yoga studio to make up for what happened. I do believe that how they handled this afterwards was professional so I'm gonna go ahead and update this review and give them 3 stars.** read more

I've taken Danielle's classes for 6 years, and always leave with a new perspective feeling energised! The class on Dec 31 was the perfect way to end off a year - thank you so much x read more

I've been in the area for a year on a work contract. 3 months to the end of my contract, I found this studio. Oh how I wish I found it much sooner. How sad I am to now be leaving. What an amazing place to practice not only yoga but many many other energy healing practices. Wednesday was a day I'd look forward to. It would start with Danielle's beautiful meditation sound bath followed by Sean's heated Vinyasa class. Then there was the thrash dj yoga they offer on the last Friday of every month. Holy! That was soooo much fun! In short. It's a lovely space. It's a community. And all those who work there are beautiful. But mostly they have a true connection to the deep roots of yoga and human connection. read more

The instructors seem kind. Not the highest caliber. This place does not inform you when it charges monthly. They charged me $1,100 for three classes AND charged me for a drop in. More transparency and some empathy for being ill would have been nice. I live in this community and am shocked by callousness. read more

Best yoga studio I've been to in LA, with a super tight knit community! Went with a friend on a Saturday morning recently and class was packed! Hot yoga so prepared to get sweaty. Our instructor was the owner of the studio and she was absolutely lovely! Great energy and strong practice flow They have a 25$ for 2 weeks special, for new students! You can do yoga, walk to coffee, then ponder life on the beach- great for a weekend morning/afternoon read more

This review is for Danielle Z. She's my go-to morning teacher, and I truly love starting my day with her whenever possible. I always leave her classes feeling energized and enlightened. In fact, I'm even taking an hour of PTO tomorrow just so I can attend her class. Love the studio as well - it's always been welcome and inviting. Big smiles all around! read more

This yoga studio is more than yoga. It's like a mini mental and spiritual escape. I just took the Unleased class, which is a mix of yoga, dance, and screaming class with a live DJ, Vegas Tagus. Yes, I said, screaming. It was a class where you can unapologetically be you. A moment where everyone respectfully understands we all need to release our emotions, be it anger, sadness, uncertainties, or just pent-up energy with NO judgment. we didn't have time to judge anyway because we were dancing, sweating, and boucing around. This might sound weird, but it was freeing to give myself permission to be animalistic, wild, and simply be. The kicker, everyone was supportive, laughing, and enjoying a free, healthy bev after the class, which I was not expecting. Typically, after a yoga class or workout class, people have a tendency to walk out and not talk to each other. It was different here. It was a safe space to say hi and to give gratitude. I have also taken their hot yoga and sound bath, which I also recommend. By far, the Unleased class was therapeutically healing. Maybe because I didn't know what to expect, and found myself with tears in my eyes saying, "Wow, I didn't realize I needed that." The class gave me a different perspective of what self-love and wellness are truly about. Thank you, Leah and Vegas Tagus, for bringing your talent to the table. I can't wait for the next yoga, booty shaking, screaming class! read more

I enjoyed the guided heated vinyasa flow. Studio is cozy and cute with friendly staff!

Tricky place! I went once a month ago just to try it for single session They saved my card details without letting me know and today charged me for class again, and I'm not even in the country I called them they didn't even say sorry Just told it happens sometimes WTF If you happen go there never use your card! read more

shefa is A GEM! I started coming here after an invitation from my friend Maeri and didn't think too much of it. During my first ever class, instructor had this background EDM type music with actual Sanskrit chanting as singing words and I thought to myself "oh maybe this place could be legit". Turns out it's LEGIT and I've been loving all the classes so far! Practices have variety and has a really nice dose of challenges to it. Cool instructor, all of them. Last night I did an Unleashed class with Leah and it was one of the most invigorating, hilarious, and one of a kind yoga class I've been too. It's something I initially didn't want but didn't realize I NEED. 10/10 would do it again and telling my friends about it. Shefa yoga is worth the money. There's everything here: great quality practice, good facility, a sense of community, and fun. read more

Well I guess my original review was full of too much truthiness and was flagged, so here I will stick with the objective facts of my experience attending a "sound bath" at this business. This all took place in early Feb 2022, when mask guidelines for gyms in the city of LA (which Venice is a part of as a neighborhood of LA City) stated all employees and members must remain masked at all times except when swimming, eating, or being alone. LA county and city never had any exemptions to the mask mandates, like SF and others did for a brief time. The above is relevant to my experience, as once I arrived at the crowded yoga studio, no staff or teachers were wearing masks, no one asked for proof of vaccine or recent covid test, and there was no enforcement of students to wear masks or distance while in or out of a class. Luckily the sound bath I was there for only had a few people attending so I felt safe enough with my mask on and staying clear of others in the room. The sound bath itself was thinnest and least restorative of any I've been to. And to give color of where I'm coming from, I'm hippie enough to own several sound bowls myself but not hippie enough to believe 95% of what someone would tell you they are good for. I just enjoy all the sounds and vibrations and find it relaxing, but this experience was just lacking. There was never more than one bowl played at a time, maybe two used in total back and forth sparingly and no gongs used either. The teacher did sing throughout, which is not my thing at all, and I will keep my thoughts and opinions on that to myself. Overall, sad to see a place that promotes health and wellness ignore city, county, and state guidelines. I agree the regs can be confusing and often stupid, but as someone who visits parents in their 70s and doesn't want to be the one to kill them, I still take a global pandemic seriously and cannot support a business that doesn't. read more

I like the classes here since since the instructors are upbeat and classes are positive and fun. One instructor is older with blonde/gray hair and has an earring and he's the only bad apple, very rude to customers and makes mean comments under his breath. read more

As below, who you get will greatly impact your practice. Some of the teachers use teaching as a way to express their creativity- what that means is they don't realize that their nutty sequence needs SO MUCH instruction that the students are left looking at each other and totally getting in their heads and falling out of flow. Creativity is one thing, but if it doesn't link right, you can't even stay in your breath or body. On top of that, they can be so talky and preachy about their 24-year-old's version of spirituality that it starts to feel like a sitcom about LA, projecting their "truth" without having any concept what projecting is. My previous review mentions this. Other teachers (like Sean below) are elevated and restrained, they come with intelligence and grace, and they are spiritual simply because they embody it without even needing to say a word. That's power, baby. There's space in their language and their sequence connects well, even if not totally traditional. You're not lost trying to go from an upside-down pretzel to a flying pigeon. There's cohesion. I suggest asking the desk staff. They are great. And you'll know if your teacher is actually a DJ that will blast music during her sermon about peace and space, or if your teacher is a graceful being, here to channel movement into your body. I love the owner but I avoid her classes completely as she can act out wildly, asking us to bark like dogs and do a nonsensical sequence that might be fun if I was at burning man but not fun when I struggled to take an hour off for my only movement of the day in the middle of jaw breaking deadlines. Time is precious. A great studio. Front desk staff is patient and top-notch. If you're new and care about your experience, ask them for guidance. read more

This is such a cool oasis. Shefayoga has brought back old school yoga vibes with a contemporary bow on top. The teacher we can't live without ... Danielle Zuccarelli. She gets it - staying true to the values of yoga and to yourself. It's a workout, but not just for your body. It's as much a practice of your mind and taking care of yourself when in her class. She keeps us all grounded in what is ACTUALLY important. My favorite reminder from Danielle: "Leave yourself alone!". She catches that quiet internal critic and brings us back to freedom. I truly feel refreshed, stronger and much nicer after I spend an hour in Danielle's class. "Yoga is your medicine. Nothing to fix, nothing to change. Today is a whole new chance to start again". Note: her heated classes are also awesome. I'm not usually a heated fan, but again, she helps guide each person to find what's right for them. I'm a fan! All of the staff and teachers are truly exceptional. A bright spot in the day. Leah has created a special place - cool, but not competitive and flashy. Go to yoga. Period. And take Danielle's class (but leave space for me! Ha!) Thank you, Danielle And the crew at Shefayoga. read more

Great vibe. Friendly staff. Lots of space to hang before/after class if that's your thing. Lockers are convenient. Highly recommend

My favorite yoga studio in Los Angeles! Not only does Leah provide a variety of excellent teachers and practices, but she's also created a safe space for a VERY special community of humans to connect. This place has become a home for many, including me, and I'm forever grateful for the amazing people I've had the opportunity to get to know through shefayoga venice. As far as the yoga goes... the RANGE at this studio is crazy. They've got everything: heated vinyasa, regular vinyasa, tantra flow, heated rocket vinyasa, 26&2 (Bikram), kundalini, restorative (with and without reiki), sound bath meditations, yin, Iyengar, dharma, psychic development (really cool class), and even R3bar (portable pilates sort of situation). No teacher is the same - all are equally unique with their own style of teaching. Leah, the owner, as well as the managers Ryan and Sean, and of course the entire front desk staff are super friendly, sharp as tacks, sweet as hell, and really, really good at what they do. Shefayoga hosts a multitude of different workshops each month too. Acroyoga, Cacao ceremonies, silent discos parties, yoga teacher training, etc. Regardless of what you're looking for, I can guarantee you'll find it here. read more

Shefa is so much more than a yoga studio- it is a loving, kind community- where everyone has space to show up fully, and be met with love. Love this studio and the teachers. I love an early yoga class with Danielle Zuccarelli. She teaches almost everyday but my jam is her 730AM T/Th and 8AM Saturday. It's not for everybody. The front desk was cold and I didn't feel welcomed. The class was so packed that people were nearly on top of each other on certain poses. If that works for you, fine. But, I would love to have some space to do certain poses. It felt like they added as many people in the room to maximize revenue. Sadly, the experience felt unwelcoming and commercial. The instructor, Jonah, did a phenomenal job to make it work. But, the management of the experience from welcome to the class was poor. There's a beauty in everything and I'm grateful for the communal yoga groupie experience. But, for a one-time experience. Not as a member. read more

The front desk person was patient and helpful (I am visiting from the East coast). The place was very spacious yet cozy in the lounge area. I took the 12 noon Iyengar class with Miriam and LOVED her. Iyengar teachers train extensively and take their craft seriously. The class teaches one how to go from the outside in and I left with much needed space in my mind and body. If I lived here, I would be her regular student. read more

I have to preface this by saying that I rarely write reviews. My recent session with Britt was amazing! It's been a while since I've done yoga and I'd consider myself at the intermediate level.
