    I can honestly say finding Michelle/ Moxie in Motion was one of the best things that could have happened for me! In the first few weeks she has cleared up several of my misconceptions about personal training and lifting weights. Her exquisite training style often makes me feel more as if I am a graceful ballet dancer, standing with my instructor who's behind me to assist as needed vs. just someone in a gym with a loud drill sergeant or someone who's attending a do or die bootcamp w/someone yelling in their ear (my initial perception of how trainers treat their clients). Michelle has done several amazing things for me such as: Taken extra time aside from training to provide/share her knowledge, taken the time to identify my learning style and continuously applies techniques to help me retain all the information I've learned. She instantly accessed and addressed both my strengths and weaknesses, corrected my slight eating disorder, and by that, I mean has taken me off my constant crash diet routine. Most importantly, she has become someone I completely trust. I feel 100% confident when taking her direction. I've lost almost 10 pounds in three weeks and I haven't been my current weight since high school! I feel amazing after every single one our training sessions because she keeps it so interesting with all of the variety of exercises that we cover in a single session. I've learned so much already and I am excited to continue my journey with her as my coach! I highly recommend this company and feel more than grateful, and very blessed that Michelle took me on as a client.

    This has been long overdue but not forgotten! I used Michelle as a personal trainer when I was training for my first NPC bikini competition and I'm so glad I did! She is very knowledgeable in the world of bodybuilding and isolation muscle training. The whole experience with her was great because she is very thorough; everything from the diet to the emotional aspects of training. Aside from her pprofessional knowledge, she is also such a fun and easy going person. She might seem intimidating at first just because she is so strong and in such great shape, but once you meet her, you'll feel comfortable in 10 seconds.     I started doing personal training because I wanted to feel stronger and it was one of the best decisions I have ever made. Michelle is an amazing trainer. She is super motivational and doesn't let you put any less than 100% into each workout session. It was inspiring to see that she had WAY more confidence in me than I did in myself - but every time I was able to complete my sets and it felt great. She is super knowledgable about the human body and great at describing how everything should be working together. She taught me a lot about my form for weightlifting and I feel much more confident working out on my own now. Michelle gave great nutritional advice as well and helped me put together a diet plan. I highly recommend her.

    Michelle is amazing!! You're not just another client with her. She really cares about you. She makes sure that the plan that she sets up for you is tailored to what you can do. I've gone from not running, to running 3 miles in 1 hour to running 3 miles in 37 minutes. I know it's all because of the training I've been doing with her. She always makes me feel very comfortable and every time I finish a session with her I know I've left it all in the gym. If you want to see results there's no one else I'd recommend you to. Michelle is an amazing trainer, and amazing teacher, an amazing role model but most of all she's an amazing friend who cares. This was a challenge that's turned into a life style. In honor of our weekly check-ins... Mentally: I don't feel like I'm in a brain fog! I feel like I can think clearly and concentrate at work. Emotionally: I feel very positive and happy! How many of us can say that we feel happy on a daily basis? I know I can. I also know it's all thanks to the training and healthy eating. Physically: I feel confident! I've lost almost 15lbs and I'm not even done. She has boosted my self esteem and for that I am forever grateful.

The intensity of the workout forced me to my limit, but they did let people do it on their own pace. The complementary facilities like locker, shower room, and even free towels made bunch of plus points, though one downside might be I'd prefer it to be cleaner (read: the women's bathroom might need more frequent cleaning especially with shedding hair). You did have the option to indulge post the workouts by getting their smoothies, which was also available to be pre-ordered and tailored to your preference by customizing the ingredients. Not to mention, the Venice one had plenty of free parking spaces!

But as far as the full CrossFit experience, this gym does not deliver. Coaching: This was the biggest problem here. While a few of the coaches are great (Chelsea and Greg), this was the exception, not the rule. Two big issues: (1) Firstly, there are so many coaches and they don't seem to have set schedules, so it's impossible to know who will be leading your class. This made it tough to build relationships with them, and also made for a disjointed experience since every coach's instruction is different. (2) Secondly, a lot of the coaches are disengaged and seem uninterested in connecting with members. When I joined, *most* of the coaches didn't even bother to introduce themselves to me when I was a new member in their class. Some never did the whole time I was a member. It often felt like they were there to get paid, and that was that. Programming: The WODs here were all over the place. We would often work the same muscle groups multiple days in a row (e.g. heavy Clean + Push Jerks one day, then heavy Strict Press the next), or we'd work full body for no reason (e.g. pairing heavy back squats with heavy bench press). This deterred me from going daily since the muscles in question would often be too sore from the day prior. After 6 months of working out here, I stayed static at best and may actually have regressed in my ability. Community: Most clients here are friendly enough, and there is diversity in age, body type, and ability, which I liked. However, members at both locations don't go out of their way to chat to newbies; the regulars have their cliques and aren't interested in branching out. Additionally, there were rarely partner WODs or other intentional efforts from coaches / management to facilitate relationship-building among members. Unfortunately, I just did not find any real sense of community here.

I was dealing with health issues after being exposed to something in my new home which led to a major sinus surgery and lingering eye/nasal issues on top of an newly discovered autoimmune issue. I had several very bad experiences with inept doctors who really didn't seem to care about me and my health. I felt lost and was freaked out. I didn't have any of my " health care tribe people" in town and was dealing with a lot of new health issues. Samantha restored my faith that there are people out there that actually care for others. Samantha put me at ease instantly with her kindness and welcoming energy. On our first Zoom call, I was very impressed with how detailed she was with analyzing my blood work, catching things that weren't caught before by other nutritionists. She created a customized plans to meet my needs of an anti inflammatory diet and supplement plan. I finally have hope that on a path to better health balance. Samantha also personally helped me with new local doctor referrals and made an appointment with a overbooked/no new patients possible for me because SHE CARES. And Marti is wonderful too, she is always available with a quick response and willingness to help out with anything you need. Words can't thank Samantha enough for all she has done for me.
