Simon, the owner, came to the house, met with me to discuss general ideas of what I wanted, and soon sent me a proposal which I found to be fair. Having constructed about 50 fireplaces, he has superb design and construction skills and knew exactly what to do; he thinks 10 steps ahead, which helps to avoid problems later on. Throughout the construction process, he gave me options and the pros/cons of each to consider. Simon handled all of the permitting with the township and was on-site to meet every inspector and sub-contractor. In short, he, Victor and his team turned an ugly wall into what is now the focal point of my house. They were a pleasure to work with: completely reliable, on-time, honest, professional and super-clean. They set up a Zip-wall to keep the rest of the house dust-free and worked outdoors under a pop-up tent; in short, they were EXTREMELY clean and considerate throughout the entire process. The first project, several years ago, involved painting multiple interior rooms and crown molding. Most recently, I hired them to paint three new structural porch columns and my front door. While that may sound like a straightforward job, it really wasn't. Black structural columns are not something you see every day, so preparation, product selection, and attention to detail were critical to getting the look I wanted and ensuring the finish would hold up to the elements. Bob came out to provide the estimate. He was professional, easy to work with, and, most importantly, took the time to listen to what I was trying to achieve and the concerns I had about the project. He was also able to get the work scheduled within the same week. I worked closely with Ron, who I believe was the lead painter on the job. He was incredibly knowledgeable and detail-oriented. I supplied the INSL-X primer recommended for fiberglass columns and discussed paint options with him. He agreed with the approach and helped ensure the project was done the right way rather than just the fastest way. The work took two full days and exceeded my expectations. The crew took great care to protect my brand-new porch, covering the decking and railings thoroughly so there was no risk of paint getting where it didn't belong. The very next day, the system stopped working completely, leaving our home with no heat. When we called their emergency line (609-490-4427), we were told this was "not an emergency," despite their advertised 24/7 emergency service guarantee. This is a clear violation of their own service policy. Having a brand-new furnace fail immediately--and being left without heat in winter with no emergency response--is extremely disappointing. He also tried to sell me on replacing a saddle valve. $700 for a $20 part and 10 minutes of labor. I did it myself. I am not the only person in the town having these issues. I contacted a locally owned HVAC company. They were out within the week. They asked me who had done previous work on the outside AC compressor. A Weltman tech had left the electrical panel open and exposed to the elements.
