I…read morecalled for them to install a new outdoor shed as a doghouse for my fiance's dog for when she moves in. Theresa, the woman I spoke to at their office, ensured me that there would be proffesionals working on this project and gave me a hefty but reasonable quote based on the projected hours that the 2 men would spend building the shed. The quote was around $2,000 and it was constantly repeated that the price was based on the hourly rate. Honestly that's a pretty steap price for building a shed. I had no free time to do this project on my own as I was planning a wedding, still in the process of moving, and preparing for a baby to be born on top of my full time job. I now wish that I bit the bullet on that one and did it myself because I would have saved myself $3,600. These proffesionals were constantly complaining about the manual and claiming that the instructions were wrong (in my line of work this is common for people that just can't figure it out and want to blame the product for their own lack of understanding). If it was hard to understand, I don't get why they sent 6 different people to work on this thing, anyone who's led a project in construction before knows that when things get handed to other people constanly it gets messy, and the new people have to play catch up trying to pick up where the last people left off. This makes sense when you realize that they make more based on how long they take on the project. Not only this but there are several spots where screws are supposed to go where there aren't, meaning on the finished product there are gaps between the floor and the walls. I understand that it's hot outside and sometimes the heat can take a lot out of you, but as someone who works on residential and commercial air conditioners for a living (meaning spending the bulk of time on rooftops or attics where the heat is amplified), the guys could suck it up. It honestly seemed like most of the time when I checked on the guys working on the shed, they were either reading the manual for excessive periods of time, complaining about the heat, or complaining about how some auto shop was trying to screw them over by selling them an overpriced service. (Ironic, huh). The property owner here where I live also reported to me that there were pieces of our seperate project that were taken by the individuals working on the project. I don't doubt that we'll get them back, but I do feel that it's worth mentioning. All in all the job did get done, the shed absolutely did get built, but they dragged their feet a bit, I paid way more than initially planned, and the final product could have been a little more refined.

Do your homework before you hire Chris and Aggieland Contracting to do your remodel work. I hired…read moreChris to demo a shower and build an ADA compliant shower. While the finished product is beautiful it turns out he is a cheap skate. ADA laws are not in effect for residential buildings, and I understand that from the research I did. However His original quote stated specifically ADA compliant and all standard practice procedures I found were to include grab bars in an ADA compliant shower/bathroom for residential use. Chris refused to install the grab bars unless I paid an extra $615 on the back end of the originally quoted cost. This shower is for a 72 year old widow. How horrible that he would be not only deceptive, but also refuse safety and peace of mind to an elderly woman. In addition to the shower, he was also to install a custom steel front door to the residence as stated in the quote. His crew installed a fiberglass door which he claimed to be superior to steel. That is possibly accurate, but still not what I asked for. A week or so later he installed a flimsy box store steel door that I could probably bend with my bare hands. He told me that I would need a new quote to get the door that he said he would install originally. The new quote was for an additional $4500. Chris doesn't care about his work. He only wants to deceive you so he can squeeze you out of as much money as possible. By this point I was sick of working with him so I told him to paint it and get the job done. The third problem I had with Chris was his worst of all. During one phone call I had with him about the front door He stated "you are being too frustrating to me to have my crew install a different door." I understand that there will always be incompetent companies out there, but how can a decent business owner stay in business if he chooses to insult his customers? As a small business owner myself, my number one priority is making sure the customer is happy. Chris doesn't care what his customers think and his insults are proof of that. All that said, Angel and the rest of the workers were wonderful. If a problem arose they jumped to make it right without question. For instance during the demo they discovered some wood rot and had it replaced within a couple hours. At the end of one day they discovered that the drain was installed incorrectly and it was replaced first thing the next morning. Chris However only cares about collecting his payment. Your satisfaction will not be a concern to him. If you love to shell out money and don't care about getting what you paid for go ahead and hire Chris and Aggieland Contracting. Just understand that you will probably have to hire a second contractor after the fact to finish the job.

I love doing business with local companies, and this is a family owned business that has earned its reputation by providing good workmanship, friendly customer service, and dedicated follow-through. After the hailstorm a month or so ago, I joined the crowd of people trying to get damaged roofs replaced. Hannah was my contact person and she helped me negotiate the world of insurance and roofing from beginning to end. She was always available and responsive to texting. She made many visits to my home to follow up on various details, which is all the more impressive at a time when it seems that everyone in B/CS had hail damage to their roofs. Hannah's knowledge is extensive, and there was no job she wouldn't tackle: climbing all over my roof, checking the stifling hot attic in 100-degree heat, and wearing a face mask during the pandemic. I am incredibly grateful for her taking the lead in negotiating with my insurance company and providing the proof to convince them that my gutters & downspouts were also damaged and should be replaced. She didn't hesitate to return a second time to take more pictures at their request. The day scheduled to replace the roof went so smoothly and quickly it was unbelievable! I returned from an early morning walk to find two trucks already parked on the street at 6:30am. There was a big and clearly very experienced crew who were finished by 11:00am. They did a thorough job of clean-up, including checking for dropped nails and hauling off an old satellite dish they removed, as well as all other trash. Hannah followed up with another nail check and thorough inspection of the entire roof and attic (solar vents were installed). She is in the process of following up with the order of new gutters and downspouts to be installed by a specialized crew. I have no doubt that this job will also be well done. America's Choice Roofing really embodies what I love about local family owned businesses: reliability, efficiency, reasonable costs, and personalized service! Even though they must be super stressed trying to meet the needs after the big hailstorm, they delivered great service. I am so proud and delighted with my beautiful new roof and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone!!!
