Do your homework before you hire Chris and Aggieland Contracting to do your remodel work. I hired Chris to demo a shower and build an ADA compliant shower. While the finished product is beautiful it turns out he is a cheap skate. ADA laws are not in effect for residential buildings, and I understand that from the research I did. However His original quote stated specifically ADA compliant and all standard practice procedures I found were to include grab bars in an ADA compliant shower/bathroom for residential use. Chris refused to install the grab bars unless I paid an extra $615 on the back end of the originally quoted cost. This shower is for a 72 year old widow. How horrible that he would be not only deceptive, but also refuse safety and peace of mind to an elderly woman. In addition to the shower, he was also to install a custom steel front door to the residence as stated in the quote. His crew installed a fiberglass door which he claimed to be superior to steel. That is possibly accurate, but still not what I asked for. A week or so later he installed a flimsy box store steel door that I could probably bend with my bare hands. He told me that I would need a new quote to get the door that he said he would install originally. The new quote was for an additional $4500. Chris doesn't care about his work. He only wants to deceive you so he can squeeze you out of as much money as possible. By this point I was sick of working with him so I told him to paint it and get the job done. The third problem I had with Chris was his worst of all. During one phone call I had with him about the front door He stated "you are being too frustrating to me to have my crew install a different door." I understand that there will always be incompetent companies out there, but how can a decent business owner stay in business if he chooses to insult his customers? As a small business owner myself, my number one priority is making sure the customer is happy. Chris doesn't care what his customers think and his insults are proof of that. All that said, Angel and the rest of the workers were wonderful. If a problem arose they jumped to make it right without question. For instance during the demo they discovered some wood rot and had it replaced within a couple hours. At the end of one day they discovered that the drain was installed incorrectly and it was replaced first thing the next morning. Chris However only cares about collecting his payment. Your satisfaction will not be a concern to him. If you love to shell out money and don't care about getting what you paid for go ahead and hire Chris and Aggieland Contracting. Just understand that you will probably have to hire a second contractor after the fact to finish the job. read more

Chris was very professional and the crew showed up on time and cleaned up once they were done. The communication between Chris and myself was excellent during the entire process. Chris with Aggieland Contracting sat down with us, going over our plans for a complete master bathroom remodeling - he listened to our wants, made suggestions, etc. Agreed on a price, schedule for the work. His crews arrived on time, getting the jobs done. It was choreographed - different trades arrived on time - demo, plumbing, electrical, drywall, tile work, cabinets, countertop, and inspectors. When Aggieland Contracting completed the project (little over two weeks versus the 6-10 weeks from other quotes) we had a new bathroom that we love - especially the walk-in/roll-in shower! We have been giving tours to family & friends - each have expressed their admiration - many have inquired when we would need someone to house sit - they even offered to bring their own towels! read more

Watch out!! DO NOT HIRE!! I hired Chris of Aggieland to remodel my fix and flip house in Austin TX. Nothing he was hired to do turned out right. I had to pay to have tile work redone, doors rehung, painting and drywall repairs, plumbing, even foundation and electrical work was not done correctly. He repeatedly failed inspections. Nothing was done to code. Plumbing lines were reversed. Gas lines not properly attached. Foundation piers were not dug into ground, just laying on the ground and shimmed. Crooked tile, crooked doors. My refinished wood floor was splotchy and sticky. He installed outdoor fence wood for my floor and window moldings with rough edges everywhere. You could run your hand along it and get splinters!! He charged me for high end cabinets and then installed the cheapest HD cabinets ever and ALL the doors were crooked! And the whole job went tens of thousands over budget and several months longer than promised. Always so many excuses! Once fired, he threatened liens and I was forced to pay him more money. Working with Chris was a NIGHTMARE! *** Chris's reply to my review is further proof of his dishonesty. His work did NOT pass city inspections. Chris Aversa is not only a liar but a horrible contractor and will say anything to lie his way into a job. We are more than happy to provide anyone with proof of his bad work. This guy is another bad horrible contractor taking advantage of Real estate investors and anyone looking for a contractor. Chris Aversa shouldn't be allowed to work in this industry. Not only does he have no idea what he is doing he lied again in his reply. His work did not pass inspection at all. We had to hire other contractors to fix his horrible work which sent us way over budget. The other contractors we hired couldn't believe the horrible work he did. He has always been punctual with sending out quotes on projects and fixing any changes we had. We like to send Chris any pictures that we have and what we want the project to look like and the finished product always comes out perfect. He has installed skylights in our kitchen and outdoor space in our back yard, made custom made gates and garage for us, installed new fencing, new windows in my wife's office and our kids bathroom, etc!!
