Due to the amount of cars already being worked on in the shop, he said he might not have my car checked until mid-day, but ended up being able to do so ahead of schedule. As woman, we dread going to the mechanic for anything. Even if it's just for an oil change without feeling haggled! I brought my car to Precision last week for body work after someone smashed my car while it was parked. Sick. Eric was very courteous and thorough in regards to the process. He provided me with an estimation of the work that'll need to be done. It was close to $5800 to repair the damages on my 2006 VW Passat. I even forwarded his estimate over to other mechanics to shop around for a better price and was told that his quote was very reasonable. It was after hearing this, I felt Eric was not trying rob me for everything I owned lol. Nor did I feel rushed or pressured about making a decision right then and there in regards to him starting the work on my car. In the end I didn't go through with the work since it was more than what I could afford at the moment for my car, so I wound up donating it. Precision will most definitely be my resident mechanic when I get a new car... Too bad they don't sell used cars. Le sigh. read more

The other day my car had a transmission issue and broke down and the closest garage was Precision Transmissions so I had it towed in for them to take a look. Growing up with a father who was a mechanic and state inspector his whole life, I spent a lot of time in his garage learning about cars. Weary that I would be scammed due to the fact that I am a young woman, I was so happy to have quite the opposite experience! Eric was the nicest guy imaginable and he reminded me a lot of my father. After he put my car on the lift he showed me exactly what was leaking and gave me the most helpful advice about what to do about it since we both knew replacing/fixing the transmission on my old '91 Toyota Camry wasn't worth it. Prices for the fluids and towing were fair and he even made sure I got home okay with my car! I can't say enough good things about Eric and Precision Transmission. I took my Audi A4 to him for a clutch replacement and new tires, among other things, after getting a quote from the Audi Service Centre that was frankly unaffordable. Eric identified what needed to be done (as well as pointed out what was unnecessary), and ended up fixing and servicing my car for almost half of the original quote, using the same high performance parts as Audi quoted for. I even got a 12 mo. warranty on the clutch. It's running beautifully now. Eric also went out of his way to drive the car back home for me when i was unable to. Went to precision for a tire situation I had, right off the back they impressed me by letting me know I could of just went to a fix a flat and get it done for cheap. They didn't charge me because it wasn't a long check but I was very impressed by the honesty. I went to the fix a flat and they ended up damaging my studs. So it was only right I brought it back to precision and they did a great job. It's a clean shop that looks like more of a dealership than a mechanic shop. Employees are friendly and professional , you pay for quality and I didn't mind paying them what they deserve. I refer them to all my friends. read more

I Went in based on other customer reviews and I have to say I am not disappointed. The owner is very friendly and hospitable, the shop is clean and organized. Both very good signs that I am in a professional environment. After having taken my vehicle to another mechanic and being told I have a transmission issue I decided to get a second opinion. I am glad I did. it saved me replacing a transmission and I only had to replace a simple sensor. Well worth the money and effort and I will definitely use Precision Transmissions again. Bad experience. Sorry to break the run of good reviews, but the nice veneer quickly turned ugly. We paid what they wanted and got the hell out of there never to go back. We didn't get what we came for and got something we didn't ask for. Don't want to provide any more details because it got heated and personal on both sides. They made no effort to reconcile and only argued once a disagreement became clear. In the end, it was laughable that they said they'd only take my money if I was satisfied with their service. I said I wasn't. Then they took my money. It wasn't even about the money for me, but was about being offered a professional reconciliation after being charged for services I didn't request. I went to Precision Transmissions because I had a parking ticket over the weekend for an expired inspection sticker and I'd moved since my last inspection so I wanted to try a place closer to home. I googled where to go and saw that it was en route from my son's school. I walked in at 4:50pm saying what I needed and although they close at 5:30pm, I was in and out of there pretty quickly. I usually don't go anywhere new, but once I spoke to the staff my gut told me they were trustworthy. The customer service was wonderful and the secretary is very polite and professional. read more

Worst ever. I got appointment at 9Am. But inspector late 1hour. Did 1 min inspection, ask me to get new wipers that they didn't have it. So they did order and It took another 2 hour. They wasted my three hour and a hundred dollar for that. And the cashier first asked me to pay cash, so I should spend service fee for ATM. But in the end she took my credit card. I felt they do kind of scam to me. I will never be there again. read more

I've been burned by a couple different mechanics in Brooklyn, uggh. After my last terrible experience I found this place on Yelp and given the great reviews gave it a shot. They seemed great. Orginally I brought our car in to have it inspected and in the past when I've done this at other garages the mechanic comes back with a grocery list of things I need to repair. Precision did not do this. They are not in the most convenient place but to feel like you can trust the mechanic is worth it to me. I've gone here 3 times now and will go back again. read more
