This was Kelly's first project in Palo Alto, and he was persistent and conscientious when navigating all the hoops and roadblocks thrown in his path by the City of Palo Alto permitting and engineering department, which seems to have a very different (and shockingly inefficient and painful) approach from other surrounding municipalities. He collaborated with me when needed to follow up and push things through the City of Palo Alto, and frankly after my own experiences with them, I'm even more impressed with Kelly's perseverance and patience in doing what was needed to get the job done. My mom's live-in caregiver also gave Kelly rave reviews, saying he was always kind and gentlemanly whenever he visited to carry out tasks for the panel replacement job. I don't think it is necessarily the cheapest option around but with something like this, quality and experience matters and they did a great job and handle permits and such. They did exactly what I asked them to do and were responsive over email and able to ask the exact questions they needed which made things seamless. This is not necessarily a bad thing but they could have probably done some kind of "walk through" around the place and found some additional work for me. Upselling is obviously not always a great practice but in my case, there were some things that I wish I had done and I think they could have suggested them and left it up to me to say yes/no to during the initial inspection. For example my kitchen could definitely use at least 1 additional outlet, I should have probably replaced a 3rd light, and so on. I do respect that they don't try to take you on a ride but since it is probably efficient to do things all at once, may have been helpful to discuss (this was also my bad for not noticing these things before).
