Summary: I regret choosing Dr Ku to perform my tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) and two separate arm lifts (bracheoplasty). I definitely don't recommend Dr Ku for those procedures. I'm unhappy with the results, detailed below. Details: First in 2022, I had a tummy tuck and an arm lift, both during the same surgery. Tummy Tuck Results: The left and right sides of my stomach didn't match. The stitches were tighter on the left end of the incision, creating a muffin-top effect only on that side. Arm Lift Results: My arms didn't match either. My left arm was itself unevenly proportioned, and it was larger than the right arm. (See photos) At post-op visits, I mentioned these concerns. Dr. Ku repeatedly responded by saying "the body is not naturally symmetrical". I felt like I was being dismissed. In my opinion, it's fair to expect matching arms after plastic surgery. If I were getting breast augmentation, I would absolutely expect my left and right breasts to reasonably match. I expected my arms to reasonably match. About a year later, I paid Dr Ku for a revision surgery. I had another arm lift. And I had abdominal liposuction to blend and smooth things out. The results: My arms still don't match. Also, the second surgery created a new fold on the back of my left arm near the armpit. Dr. Ku said the section had been "over-tightened". (See photo) Worst of all, now I have a very noticeable dog ear on my right elbow. A dog ear is an excess of skin and fatty tissue that pokes out at the end of the stitches. It's very embarrassing to me, I feel like it calls more attention to the scar. (See photos) Dr Ku said that in order to correct the dog ear, he will have to extend the scar further down past my elbow. So that would mean no chance of hiding the scar under short sleeves, which is very upsetting. First, he estimated that he could do the dog ear correction under a local anesthetic for a "few hundred". Later, after he saw the fold on my other arm, he said it would be fully another revision surgery. Well, I just couldn't afford a third surgery at that time. Call me crazy, but I had not anticipated needing two revision surgeries. I asked for an extension on his revision price policy, but Dr Ku said no. I could not understand the issue with giving me more time. We were already two years into this. I had been very patient with him! And I had tried so hard to stay positive! The whole situation felt very unfair to me at that point. I realized it was a bad idea to consider a third surgery with Dr. Ku. I was just blinded by the revision price. Fast forward to now: I seriously regret the arm lifts. Now, my arms are scarred, plus they don't match. I've been wearing long sleeves for three years, even in triple degree summer heat waves. I'm just so embarrassed. And I don't even know when I can afford another surgeon. I wasted so much money, time, risk, stress. Don't risk throwing away your dream surgery. Just choose another surgeon. Two stars because the staff is great, and the facility is nice. I felt safe having surgery there. read more

I have never had such a disappointing,  disorganized, more frustrating two weeks trying to get a surgery done EVER!  Blood tests were ordered on different days 3 and 3 different times, phone call messages received were unclear, confusing, and incomplete and often repeated with different, disjointed follow-up messages. At my pre-op visit, Dr. Ku essentially called me a liar about my quitting vaping, in spite of my assurances I was "clean".  I was told if my test came back positive, I'd not be welcome at their office in the future... ever!  Lastly, my final straw came with a message late Thursday afternoon before my Monday surgery, that I needed an authorization signed by my PCP in order to have my surgery. My PCP was off on Friday! NO ONE told me an authorization was needed, until the last possible moment. The result? No surgery and one very unhappy patient. I suspect, because my surgery was being covered by my health insurance, could possibly have been the reason why I got such poor service and no surgery. I know it wasn't going to be a high-dollar profit for the office--because my time resulted in one less high-dollar cash patient being done in my place. If that's the case, then why contract with RMC in the first place? I suspect it's an attempt to turn insurance referrals into a cash jobs? Sorry, I got approved. And finally, it's now three days following my supposed surgery date and I have not heard one word from your office about anything--no apology, no concern, and no follow-up to the whole disappointing debacle. I went in to see Dr Buhler for a breast reduction consult. My breasts weren't big enough for the surgery which is fine and I understand why he wouldn't do the surgery. My problem was the things that were said and done after. I know plastic surgeons see women's bodies all day and are de-sensitized. This having been said, more consent needs to be given before the doctor touches you. I came in because of physical back pain I have had for years. Not once was that pain mentioned - only the cosmetic procedures that he recommended for my body to look more beautiful because he "knows what women want." And having smaller breasts would "make me depressed" Furthermore - the way that my body was pinched and grabbed was completely unnecessary, was actually painful at some points, and had nothing to do with my back pain but rather where I should get liposuction done and where my nipples should be. I have woken but the next morning with bruising on my breasts. I'm posting this because I hope that in the future - doctors can be more sensitive and gentle with their patients. I did not ask what needed to change on my body to make me look better or at any point complain about the way I look. You don't know a patients history, if they may have sexual trauma, or simply may feel uncomfortable and don't know how to speak up. I drove home crying and feeling honestly violated. I fear that this is the nature of plastic surgery, but as I was going in for non-aesthetic reasons, it felt wrong and I felt like I needed to say something. read more

Breast reduction, insurance approved for a young adult with oversized breasts. Insurance is not a bad thing. One works hard for it. During Any of the consultations and/or pre-surgery appointments we were NOT told the specific gram removal required by our insurance and I asked several times during. "50% or half" was the repeated comment by the doctor. We moved forward in trusting the doctor. I found out post-surgery that as my child was wheeled into surgery she was told she might end an A cup. NEVER mentioned this possibility during pre-surgery appointments. What doctor does that?! A LOT of breast tissue was removed (gauge 80%+) ending in complications; almost losing a nipple. Now she has a lot of side skin that does not contour to her minimal size (which was another thing we were not told about). She also has very pronounced scars high up on the middle of her chest . She can't fit in a bra. Complete opposite of adding confidence and will lead to a lot of problems down the years both in trust and intimacy. This makes me Extremely Sad as a parent for my child. A couple of people mistook her for having a mastectomy (note: the doctor's previous experience is with mastectomies). When I tried talking to the medical director Dr. Ku about all of this, I was denied. If we were informed SO MUCH TISSUE WAS GOING TO BE REMOVED we would have not moved forward with insurance approval and I would have paid for the surgery. TDLR: terrible communication on the doctor's side. Negatively in major shock with results. Psychological distress. Now requiring another surgery and/or liposuction to correct. read more

I came here strictly for removal of skin after weight loss. Dr insisted I go with a tummy tuck and lipo instead. I had two surgeries here because Dr Bhuller insisted he cannot perform a tummy tuck and lipo at the same time. . He insists that I must have two surgeries, one for the tummy tuck, and the other for the Lipo. Not only did he butchered me but after the second surgery every time I would call the office I was given excuses as to why they couldn't schedule an appointment with him and he wouldn't take my calls. Most of the time was because they did not have his schedule available to please call back. My belly button is at least 1 inch to the left, it looks so ugly, she knew that right after surgery, and all he said was not to worry about it that he'll fix it later. He wanted me to schedule another surgery, pay for anesthesia and everything so that he can fix his mistake. Not only that, he insisted that I need it Lipo in certain areas, I have gotten liposuction and other areas at different facilities, so I know exactly how life of fields, after the surgery there was absolutely no liposuction done in the areas that I paid for. I insisted that I needed to see pictures of my first surgery with a tummy tuck, showing that he actually tighten the muscles to give me a small corset. Even after I asked him before the surgery multiple times to please make sure he takes pictures, he had absolutely no pictures. On the second surgery again, no pictures. After Lipo, I asked to see pictures of the fact that was removed, guess what??? he had no pictures!! That morning the office had made a mistake and they did not have any of my paperwork signed that I have sent them at least 2 to 3 weeks before that I had actually personally called to make sure they had received them, the morning of surgery they couldn't find them Dr. Bhuller had to delay my surgery over an hour, and I am almost positive that this is the reason why he never got to the areas of liposuction yet I was charged for it and they try to convince me that I did get liposuction when I know for a fact that I did not!! Absolutely no pain no bruising and of course, there was absolutely no difference in my body. He only performed liposuction on a very small area, and that did not even make a difference, but everything else that I paid, for he did not do. I told him all this, and again I try to give him the benefit of the doubt asking him to please show me pictures, and never can. He show me one picture of the fact that he took out or my tummy tuck muscles being tighten. Till this day choosing this doctor was one of my biggest regrets!!! After much research and speaking to a handful of reputable doctors for breast implants, I had narrowed it down to 2 and went to each doctor for a consultation. There were multiple reasons I decided to go with Dr. Ku after these consultations. 1) The team and Dr. Ku always gave as much time as needed to answer everyone of mine and my husband's questions without ever feeling rushed. From the 1st consultation, to the surgery and my follow up after visits they always made me and my husband feel more than comfortable, and never like I was just a number. 2) I exercise and lift weights on a consistent basis. Dr. Ku recommended sub-glandular (over the muscle) if I was going to continue to do upper body related weight lifting as with under the muscle as he explained animation deformity and also the risk of implant capsular contracture. He felt very comfortable going over the muscle and stated it wouldn't be a difference in how the implants looked by going over the muscle. After much research and with lifting weights being part of my lifestyle I came to the conclusion that I agreed and wanted to go over the muscle. This is very important to consider as from my experience in speaking with other doctors not many of them are as comfortable with going over the muscle because going under the muscle has been something most have done all their career and that is what they would recommend, not because it is best for you or your lifestyle but because they don't have the experience and aren't comfortable themselves with the procedure. Dr. Ku was more than comfortable and 4 months after my surgery I couldn't be happier with making this decision. 3) During my consultations we had decided the size was going to be anywhere between 350-400cc. We were so comfortable and had built so much trust with Dr. Ku and his team that I gave him the decision on the final size. He originally had started with a 400 but went to a 375 as it looked best for my shape and body. My husband and I are so happy with my breast augmentation results and highly recommend Dr. Ku and his team.
