Very helpful and professional service. Did the job quickly and very good communication communications.

Had a great experience with precision. I hired them to provide service to locate a clean out and to mark the sewer and water lines. Doug was prompt, friendly, and thorough. On top of marking the depth and location of the lines they also inspected them as well for the type of pipes and for any damage. All of this was done in less than an hour. I'm not sure what is competitive pricing for this service, but I felt like they provided more value than I expected for the price. read more

Been meaning to post a review since Nov. 2024 Here it is. I was told by my plumber that the horrible sewer odor coming from a tub drain was a broken trap that leaked and let sewer gas in. he said he would need to break the wall opposite the fixtures, which by the way is tile, and replace the waste, overflow and p trap. I called Precision and Doug came. He did a smoke test and said nothing is broken. He suggested ZEP drain defense from home depot. It worked, just as he said it would. The problem was bacteria from years of gunk buildup. THe odor has been gone for 6 months. Saved thousands not to mention the inability to match the tiles that would have been sacrificed. Doug was right on!!! A life saver. THX! read more

Had Todd from Precision come out today to help troubleshoot a septic line / tank issue for our residential home. Extremely professional service - timely, responsive, patient, and knowledgeable. Excellent value for the $$. Thanks. Dean A read more

I've had other companies come into my business to run a smoke test to locate where the sewer smell is coming from and none of them ever found the problem. Up until I called Precision and they were able to find it in less than an hour. Great company to call. read more

We have used Precision Locating three times over the last several years. Each time they found the leak in a reasonable amount of time, wrote accurate reports, and were very responsive. The first two leaks were in the slab under the house; ten years separated the occurrences. The third leak was in the water meter box at the street. Precision found the leak on the City's side and wrote a complete report with photos. We relayed the information to the City and within a few days the City came out and fixed the leak. We were grateful that Precision was so accurate and complete which gave the City all they needed for the repair. read more

I have hired these guys twice to locate and inspect sewer lines. They do a great job and explain everything very well, and do a great job marking the path and depth of the lines. I recommend hiring them if you are buying a house or dealing with sewer/septic issues. read more

Great co. to work with, Doug came on time and found the leak in our main line from the shut off valve to the meter. Dug it up and marked it for the plumber to find/fix. Very happy with the work and would highly recommend. read more

They responded few days later and refund 225. But because their mistake, I spent 600 more to pay another company to identify leak and dig another hole. When I asked them why the real leak is 2.5 feet from where they located. They finally told me that they can not identity plastic pipe. So why can they just told me so to begin with? read more

Recommended to us by a plumber Precision Locating was able to come out same day I called- fantastic In less than an hour they mapped out the piping under the slab from end to end in our home And by exposing the manifold in the wall ( requiring a later drywall patch) determined which of the pipes had a leak and where it ran Pipe detection was done with an electronic detector, and the leak located by introducing pressurized air into the system- also by using hot and cold temperture differentials In less than an hour the job was done and I had a report for the plumber. 5 Star service ! read more

I was lucky to be referred to Precision Locating by a couple of plumbers when my front yard main water line developed a link that showed no evidence on the surface. I was dumping 350 gallons of water underground per day so, yeah, I was stressed out worried that they might not be able to find it. This company is in high demand (because they're exceptional) and they were able to book me the next week and a gentleman who I only know as "Doug" arrived on the scheduled day and time to service me. A very personable & professional guy and immediately you could tell that he had been around the block many times performing leak detections. He assured me right away that he WOULD find the leak and that it wouldn't take that long. Their hourly rates are fairly high but I didn't mind as long as the leak was found. By the time he performed his preliminary systems check out (maybe 20 minutes), I don't think it took him even 10 minutes after that. My 1" pex line did not have a tracer so he had to use CO2 gas. When he discovered the location I breathed a sigh of relief. Thanks Doug and Precision Locating. You are very highly recommended. read more

Had some pros and cons with this one. The tech who showed up was on time, friendly and worked quickly to try to find the problem. He did keep it under an hour and from what I could see tried everything he could think of to find the water leak I have been dealing with. However, I was charged $255 + $35 for driving on down to Queen Creek and he ended up not finding the leak. He gave some suggestions but was never able to duplicate/recreate the leak. Seems like a lot of money spent to not get what I was paying for. read more

Our monthly water bill was sky rocket last month. It turned out that we had a big leak after the city's technician confirmed that there was nothing wrong with our water meter and that their reading was correct. We walked around our perimeter but was not able to see any potential leak. We called Precision Locating and was so grateful to have Doug Bacon helped us troubleshoot the hidden leak. Doug was able to pin point the approximate leak area by utilizing his advance and sophisticated leak detection gadgets. Our leak was under our concrete driveway which explained why it was not visible to us. To make a long story short, Doug recommended a couple of plumbers to us and we chose Moon Valley Plumbing and Rooter because they were able to come out the next morning. Doug at Precision Locating deserves 5 stars because he went above and beyond his duties to genuinely help us fix our problem. He came back out the next day to work closely with Cole from Moon Valley Pluming to identify the precise location of the leak so that Cole will know exactly which direction to dig. Keep in mind that Doug did not have to come back out but he did so willingly and did not charge us. What was amazing is that Doug and Cole (2 individuals from 2 different companies) collaborated closely to identify and fix the issue. Great teamwork from Doug and Cole. BTW, we did contact other companies for leak detection and repair. Let's just say there are many companies out there that are slow at responding and they charge an arm and a leg especially if you live in a nice area. I can't list the names of those unethical companies since Yelp will likely take down my posting if those companies were to complain...hahaha. Do your homework but I do highly recommend Precision Locating (Doug Bacon) for any type of leak detections and Moon Valley Plumbing and Rooter (Cole) for leaks repair. read more

I would recommend this company. Doug came out to perform leak detection after my water bill went up 200% in a month. After performing all the test on the water lines, the problem was a very easy small fix. Best money spent to have piece of mind that there was nothing major going on. Thank you so much Doug! read more

Great business who put in the extra effort to locate a difficult leak. If you've got a leak you can't find these are the people to call.

Our kitchen floor was mysteriously bubbling up. They were available quickly and arrived on time. They were very thorough in searching out all the options and definitively finding the leak. I appreciate the detailed report I could easily forward to insurance. read more

These guys are fantastic! The 3 of us, the technician (Jimmy), my plumber and i sat together and looked at the real-time video screen of the entire plumbing as they gave my new (46 yrs old) house a colonoscopy. Jimmy marked the video with notes and explained all my questions thoroughly. They post the video online, so you can see it again and share it if you have to consider a costly replacement decision. Jimmy was wonderful. Efficient, knowledgeable and a genuinely nice guy. There prices were very fair, less than what i'd been quoted by others. read more

I highly recommend this company. I have had a nagging issue in my house to resolve and Doug was very helpful in running some tests to eliminate possible problems that would have been very expensive fixes. I feel so much better now knowing that the problem I thought I had is actually very small and really a non plumbing issue not to be worried about. He gave me some very good suggestions. I felt the tests he ran were very thorough and his explanations were easy to follow. read more

Very competent, efficient, accurate and knowledgeable. The technicians name was John C... and he was very professional, helpful and friendly. He arrived early, completed the job within one hour and all of his findings were spot on. He located the leak in our hot water pipe, 8 inches down, and below the slab. The pinpoint location saved the plumber some time and saved us some extra money. Good job, John and Precision. read more

They found my hard to find gas leak, preventing us from having to make holes all over the house. They came when scheduled and worked efficiently. They were very professional. I highly recommend them. read more

I was impressed with the thoroughness of Precision Locating. They gave me the peace-of-mind that I didn't have a leak under my house's slab or anything like that. They tested all pipes in/around my house. But they couldn't test the pipes going to/from my pool. I was disappointed that they couldn't find the reason why I am using so much water every month. They thought it might be my pool but I have since hired a pool leak company and they haven't found a leak so far either. I guess I expected more with today's advanced technology. read more

I was able to schedule for two days after I called. Doug arrived at my house right on time, and got to work. Mapped out my water lines, and found the leak (unfortunately, under the slab) very quickly. He was efficient, clearly knew what he was doing, and was able to answer all of my questions. Precision was a referral from a friend, and I would refer them to anybody that needs them. Easy to work with, nice, courteous and professional. Worth every dime. read more

DO NOT USE. They completely messed up the diagnosis. They told my plumber where the manifold was and where they thought the leak was. TOTALLY wrong and cost me extra time and drywall repair. Would not respond to me. Waste of over $200. Use someone better!! read more

WOW! These guys are SERIOUS about helping people get their problems solved. I do almost ALL of my own home repairs - plumbing, electrical, whatever. But I had a water leak that I could not locate. I called Precision and their mgr had his field locating tech call me within 8 minutes. After talking with me for about 5 mins, Doug gave me several suggestions to try and advised to call for a "leak locate" appt if I still couldn't find the leak. Well, one of his ideas was exactly where the problem was - an old gate shutoff valve for our pool leveler wasn't completely sealing when closed. Problem solved (after I replaced the valve). It's very hard to find a business that will quite literally help you to their best ability even BEFORE you are actually enlisting their services! These guys come highly rated and I fully agree. Incredible integrity and caring folks! Thank you guys! read more

I had septic system issue that I needed help in investigating and analyzing. They did a great job. John was knowledgeable, courteous and took the time to answer all of my questions. Highly recommend them! read more

Based upon my experience, they should remove the word "Precision" from their name. After being referred to them by a decent plumber, their locations ended up being very imprecise, inaccurate; and ultimately requiring the plumber to contact them for clarification. The locations that were marked were off anywhere from one to five feet, as well as two locations being completely off. I understand there is some inherent error in their equipment and interpretation, but forcing me to unnecessarily cut multiple holes in my wall is ridiculous. This was clearly a case of operator incompetency, and when I brought it up to the dispatcher (Lori I believe) she basically said it's the nature of the business and there was nothing that could be done about it; specifically I couldn't be refunded any $ (and I only asked for $50 back). At $200/hour, with the tech spending about 40 min "locating" only to have 3/4 of his marked sites being off, with no compensation for his error, I would advise others to stay away. With that being said, I would like to close with a note about the individual Doug I initially spoke with. He was very friendly, knowledgeable and spoke very professionally. Perhaps if he conducted the location my review would be positive. read more

From my initial calls with Doug and then Lori, Precision was easy to work with. Their service isn't cheap, but then their insight saved me from buying a house with a possible $10k repair pending. While I loved the house, I'll take the hit for $200 over a longer-term nightmare! read more

I VERY VERY HIGHLY RECOMMEND DOUG!!! He came out to my home with acoustic and thermal slab leak detection equipment in order to locate a slab leak, the reason I wasn't having hot water. I noticed right away he was delightfully bright, friendly, and professional. He also really cared about what he was doing, and put all his effort and focus into his work, all the while taking care to communicate with me. He loves people, and loves his work! I would trust him with any problem. He finally found an impossibly unusual situation, where an underground explosion had occured, and the hot water line was dumping directly into the waste water line! It would have taken any other technician a lot of experimental excavation to find that, but Doug was so intelligent, analytical and intuitive, that he figured it out located in very little time! I had two other companies come out prior to Precision Locating, and their techs had no clue. One wanted to start chopping walls and floors almost everywhere. I am so grateful and was so fortunate to have found Doug! read more

We had Precision-Locating come out as they were recommended by a plumber that we had chosen for a water leak. We were told they recommended Precision-Locating to come out and find the leak. We called them and they came out very quickly to help us to try and locate the leak. We found the gentlemen who came out who is the owner named John, to be very focused on the problem and very professional. He really was very thorough and precise. He did find a hot water slab leak. The plumber was then able to locate a place in the wall to find the necessary piping and re-route the water pipe and bypass the issue. This saved us a lot of time, mess and hassle as we did not want them to dig into our expensive flooring and our drill the slab. We are very, very happy with the service that we were provided and would very much recommend them to others. They provide a top notch and high quality service. A++ read more
