I had…read morethe misfortune of selecting this company to do renovations in my condo that had experienced a devastating flood. Thinking there would be some economy of scale to the work, I had LA Design undertake a kitchen and master bath remodel with the remediation. The only thing this company does promptly is issue invoices. The work took 7 months to complete -- 4 more months than promised. The remediation and renovation work was terrible. Most of the kitchen cabinets were measured incorrectly and had to be re-ordered and re-installed. The brand new flooring throughout the 900 sq ft apartment was the first project completed and was, despite my repeated pleas to protect the flooring, significantly damaged with deep gouges, chips and paint splatter after being exposed to months of exposure to tools, appliances, trash and careless laborers. The living room was painted in 3 different shades of white as every day laborer and painter would just buy the white paint that was most convenient for them to pick up in the morning on their way to the job. The kitchen cabinets were never "finished" -- trim was left raw and unpainted. The plumbing work was performed with a degree of outstanding incompetence. All of the walls and ceilings that needed to be replaced due to the flood were installed with a staggering degree of sloppiness. The building maintenance team at Riva Pointe was staggered by the monumental incompetence of this company. Worst experience with a contractor -- EVER.

Larry Sr came over the same day as we called to assess and give us a quote. Not only was it reasonable, but was able to use our original timeline to get everything done. Not to mention it was all done faster than the original contractor told us too. The original team was 2 guys, told us it would take 15K over our budget and over 6+ weeks. LA came in just on budget and got everything done in 13 business days. The guys they have are incredibly attentive to detail and were willing to go back in and fix up anything that was slightly off too. We also had to pivot a few minor things because the original floor plan ended up not being ideal and Larry's guys made it all happen, listening to us, making sure we felt heard and were not stressed. We are absolutely in love with the final result. While construction is definitely always stressful, LA helped reduce that as much as possible and we can't wait to use them again soon.

Unfortunately, our experience with North Jersey Pro Builders was disappointing to say the least. We…read morehired them to do an add-a-level project. The initial design phase before we signed the contract and made the initial payment went extremely well. However, problems started after we have made the first payment and signed the contract. It took NJPB six months to secure the building permit with the town. Kieth blamed it on the town bureaucrats and because we have never delt with them it seemed plausible to us. Now that we've dealt with the town ourselves, we've come to know that he lied. Come to think of it, not a single phase of the job moved foreword without us chasing them for weeks and sometimes months. Throughout the entire project, Kieth has tried to squeeze us for time and money as much he could get away with. He engaged in unethical and deceptive sales and business practices by playing with contract terms, change orders and invoices. The details are far too complicated to describe here. Two years after we've signed the contract the second floor work was completed and we've asked Kieth to facilitate the final inspections and close the permit. His assistant Cassidy sent us an e-mail that inspections were being scheduled. However, two weeks later we were contacted by the town to be notified that we're being penalized because no inspections have been scheduled and we're occupying the house without the certificate of occupancy. We tried contacting NJPB but they were not responding. We were forced to schedule and complete the inspection process on our own. After we have completed the inspections, closed the permit and paid what we thought was last invoice to NJBP, Kieth has re-appeared to send us an unexpected "final accounting" invoice for 20k. We disagreed with the validity of this invoice, contacted a lawyer and refused to pay it. Just recently we learned the true purpose of this last invoice. Apparently, NJBP didn't pay the HVAC subcontractor who did work on our project a year ago. The subcontractor is now suing NJBP for 20k exactly. We come to know this because our address was listed on the court docket by mistake. We now know that not only Keith didn't pay the HVAC guys at the time, he also overcharged us for that same work. Before we found this out, we were not planning to write a negative review. After all, even though it took two years, the actual work was eventually completed. However, now that we can see such a concrete and provable instance of him lying and cheating, we feel that we're obligated to warn others away. I must add that I feel a little bad writing this negative review because the work crew who works for Keith was actually ok. I think they deserve a better boss.

Received a vague, non response from Michael Tattoli telling me the overhang was dead flat and not steep enough to replace asphalt shingles even though the surface is not flat and has been covered with shingles for over 35 years! He was better off telling me he just wasn't interested in the job or it was too small - but not inspecting the site and providing totally wrong info is not a professional look.

Where I disagree with the other reviews concerns Carlos' ability to deliver results. Because in my case, he simply did not deliver results. To be clear, I paid Carlos $1,600 to FIND and REPAIR the source of a leak above my upstairs bathroom. He came out, flew his drone around, and told me that he found the issue. After doing some work on the roof, he then told me that he found the issue and fixed it. A couple months later, still had the leak. He subsequently sent a crew member out to find the source of the continued leak. The crew member went up to the roof, did some work, and told me that he found the issue (a different issue than Carlos first found) and fixed it. Still, the leak continued, and only became worse over time (see attached photo). For a while, Carlos talked a good game about coming back out to repair the leak after I sent him photos and videos of the fact that the leak was still not repaired. But he never showed any sense of urgency about scheduling to come back out. There was always an excuse as to why we would have to schedule for "next week" or sometime in the future instead of just making it a priority to come back out and get the job done. Then, the last time we spoke, he proposed opening up the ceiling in my bathroom to find the leak, but ghosted me after making that drastic suggestion and after I requested a partial (not even a full) refund. I then had another company from Bergenfield come out that immediately found the source of the leak and fixed it for several hundreds of dollars less than what Carlos charged me. For me at least (as I can't speak for others' experience), Carlos is a business owner who can't deliver results, and who ghosts you and keeps your money when you call him on it, even after you inform him that you will sue him (which, I will) if he doesn't provide a refund. Not my kind of guy, not my kind of business.

Douglas came over to inspect, told me what he would do to repair it and gave me a quote. I accepted the quote which I found fair and he came the very next day to start the project. Him and his partner completed the job in one day and did an outstanding job. They had to undo the metal railings in order to lay down the new slabs and then re-install the railings. I am extremely pleased with the quality of their work and would certainly choose them for any future house project and also referred them to my friends. Satisfied customer!
