What they have is a standard open MRI turned vertical on its side. But you still lay down in it to get an MRI. That is not an upright MRI. Full stop. I drove 2.5 hours each way to use an Upright MRI because of debilitating injuries that prevent me from lying flat -- which is the entire point of an upright MRI. My first trip was wasted because their call center sent me to the wrong location at the Gate Parkway office. Their staff apologized, and promised THIS location had a true upright MRI, and rebooked me. **See my review of their Gate Parkway location. I drove another 5 hour round-trip only to walk into the MRI room at this location, which they refer to as the Mandarin location, and immediately saw an open MRI machine turned on it's side. IT REQUIRED ME TO LAY DOWN. THIS IS NOT WHAT IS SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN IN AN UPRIGHT MRI. I lasted less than 10 minutes before the pain forced me to stop. Two full days. 460 miles. Zero usable images. And now I've burned MRI authorizations with my insurance company chasing a machine Precision Imaging doesn't actually have because of misleading advertising. If you're in pain and need a true upright MRI, don't book here. If you do so you'll waste your time, money, and your insurance benefits. The front staff and techs all have taken care of me like no other. Kayla, Emily (both Emily's), and Lisa are all so friendly, warm, understanding and always puts the patients first. The facility is always super clean, modern, and upon walking in, I feel at ease. I always get super anxious doing my MRIs and everyone here makes you feel so comfortable and always attend to all of your needs. I feel super happy every time I leave the facility. My appointments are always on time. If you miss your appointment or late, they try their best to work with you and your schedule. Sometimes, there might be a wait (mostly my fault for being tardy lol) but it doesn't bother me at all. I understand as I've been to many appointments to treat my tumefactive multiple sclerosis, that sometimes especially in medical settings, the doctor, tech, nurse, etc. can run behind due to treating another patient, other issues, etc. And that's okay, it happens and you roll with it. At the end of the day, you want a facility that genuinely cares about you and here, they do. Speaking for myself but I've never had a problem with them answering the phones or receiving my reports. They've always came in pretty quick and all I need to do is send them an email to request them or pick up a CD. I plan to come here for as along as they have me! The parking lot placement is a little weird, but there were spots available, but just beware the spots were tight. When I arrived I was quickly greeted. Since I did all the initial paperwork online prior to my appointment, the only thing I needed to do was pay when I arrived. In less than 10 minutes I was taken back by Miranda. She brought me back to a room, let me know what the process would be for the MRI and she also had to do the contrast (I was unaware that I was getting contrast in my arm). She did a great job and it was a quick and almost painless experience. The MRI took about 20 minutes from start to finish. Was it loud? Yes. They did give me headphones, but it doesn't do a great job of draining out the beeps. I was in and out of the entire facility in about 30 minutes.

Then I went across the hall to the MRI exam room. They had put an IV in me as the doctor requested contrast the last five minutes of the MRI. It took a while for technician to get the IV in which was uncomfortable. But I guess any IV is not fun. My friend gave me advice the night before which was to close my eyes before I went inside and keep them closed until I was out. I listened to her advice and it worked. By the time it was over I had relaxed. I was inside the tube for roughly 20 minutes. They were in communication with me through the headphones and checked on me a few times. It was pretty loud and I was hoping for music but that was not an option at this location. I would use this location again. But I hope I don't need to for a long time!
