Very rude owner who just wants to rip people off. Gave me the highest estimate out of seven places called. Really bad attitude and doesn't like to hear "no" or be told what to do. Maybe don't work in the service industry if you don't like to serve. read more

When I had the notion of replacing the tired old carpeting in our condo with wood flooring, I was at a bit of a loss since I'd never had work like this done before. I did some research and visited three other flooring shops before finding Precision Flooring. I was immediately impressed: Don educated me about wood flooring, laid out the options for our condo, and didn't try to fast sell me or my partner at all. I picked the British Pub pattern, Hickory "Pilsner" finished wood as my favorite and my partner agreed. Roger came in to do the estimate, we received the contract via email--a check and a signature, we were all set. The first job was the living room and office in October of 2017. Chino and Bennett did the installation, and Aeneas did the finishing paint work. They did a tremendous job--fast, efficient, and professional--and were a pleasure to work with every step of the way. The flooring installation for those two rooms took two days, with Aeneas following up on the third day to do the finishing touches. I was so pleased by the new flooring that I decided we should do the same wood flooring in the bedroom, where originally I'd planned to do new carpeting there. I set up the appointment for the latter part of January 2018. Roger did another estimate, Chino and Bennett again did the work ... and proved once again how fast, efficient, and professional they were. A slight hiccup in this job (one box short on the flooring material) was handled quickly and painlessly: we were never inconvenienced by not having the room usable, the additional materials were in just three days later and the room finished the next day. All through, everyone at Precision Flooring was pleasant, professional, and inspired confidence to work with--a top notch experience with contractors doing home improvement. I'd recommend them to anyone. The end result is gorgeous ... the condominium now feels completely different: more spacious, 'richer'. The flooring feels great on my feet and is much warmer in the chill of winter than the old carpet was. I'm 100% satisfied. Thank you all! read more

Just a scam. They buy engineered low-quality hardwood and mark it up more than any one else in the bay. Extremely rude, pushy, unprofessional salesman (who I think is actually the owner) . Wouldn't sell me the item I wanted because he was trying to get rid of discounted junk. Absolute waste of time. I have never left a business so angrily in my life. read more

Recently I needed to replace the floors in my kitchen and bathroom. Precision Flooring offered a wide selection of flooring samples from which I was able to select some of my favorites to take home and "try out" in my kitchen and bathroom. Once I had made my flooring decisions, Bernard, my installer, completed both rooms in a timely fashion. Bernard is a highly skilled craftsman and both floors are absolutely beautiful. He was a pleasure to work with. read more

Don and his team were such a pleasure to work with, start to finish. Don was patient, helpful, and accommodating as I evaluated different hardwood flooring options. The prep crew was friendly, helpful, and efficient. The installation crew had fantastic attention to detail, right down to the beautiful job they did on my crawl space entrance covers. Overall, I'm extremely happy and would hire them again in a heartbeat. read more

I Visited this showroom this morning looking for hardwood floors for my kitchen renovation. Roger greeted me when I came in and I explained to him what work I would be doing. He showed me around his showroom indicating all the areas where the hardwood flooring samples were. His showroom is spacious with room to move samples to the floor to get a good look at each one individually. He did not leave me to my own devices too long, just long enough for me to peruse his extensive collection of wooden floors. He returned three times to answer my questions, ultimately guiding me in narrowing down my choices. Each time he returned to answer my questions, he gave me his full attention. I never felt rushed to leave or make a quick decision. His knowledge regarding wood floors is extensive and he was happy to share it with me. On another occasion I visited another nearby flooring showroom where the consultant would barely give me the time of day except when I asked for pricing. Even though the pricing on a particular floor I had chosen was similar, I can tell you I will purchase from PRECISION FLOORING! read more

So after my review, I received a sarcastic response from Donald G. (owner), where he was trying to validate their response to my inquiry, by telling me that it was in my best interest to come to their location to learn about the products and installation techniques - and that they were NOT the price leader. I informed him that I knew exactly what I needed, as the flooring I was inquiring about was already installed in my home, just damaged from water. All I needed was their price and availability to get the repairs going and the flooring on order - my homeowners insurance was covering the cost. They lost a quick sale due to their "policy." read more

Precision Flooring has floor installers who do great work. However, the scheduler does a poor job of scheduling. Promises are made but not kept. I had to call and write several times to get things started. In addition, I had to reschedule about three other contractors (which delayed my overall project by about a month), because of their poor scheduling skills. My personal items were moved but not protected. (And they were paid to move and place back large items like threadmill and couch.) So my Horizon Elite Threadmill got soaked in the rain because they placed it outside instead of in the garage. I also came home to find my living room couch and love seat tossed into the garage without covering. Also, be prepared to request a copy of your paid invoice several times. When someone spends almost $10k with a floor vendor, one expects a more professional experience. read more

I originally went to Precision flooring when I bought my house. I had them refinish the entire floor and do some minor repairs. They were good about giving me an estimate and sticking to it. However, I had to call them back out when some of the work was substandard. They came out and redid some of the work...it was a bit of a hassle, but it happens, right? For that original visit, I'd give them three stars. I'm dropping it down to two because I recently called to get an estimate on a scratch repair. Donnie made it seem like it would be easy to get an estimate, saying he could do it if I just sent him a picture. I did so. Nothing. He never even bothered to respond to the email. So, whatever, two stars. read more

Don is difficult to work with. I would avoid hiring Precision flooring. We had a small job, requested some additions to the work order, got them, but in the end the job is not done and I just got a bill for much more than I had expected. To top it off I got a call from Don just now asking for payment and then asking if he'd have to put a lien against my house in order to obtain payment. Yikes. I will never hire Precision flooring again. read more

When we purchased our home, our hardwood floors was repainted with an oily stain, which made it look too shiny. Furthermore, the floor had some cupping. We asked Precision Flooring to resurface our floors (sanding and re-staining) and they did a thorough job. They did our bottom and top floors and also our stairs. They were able to remove the cupping, and they applied 3 coats of matte stain. Overall, we were very pleased with the result. I was appreciated how quickly they gave an estimate and got us on their schedule, even when we made a last minute decision to add new shoe bases. I appreciated the workers that came. They were very professional, came on time, friendly, and gave good advice. read more

They certainly stand by the name Precision flooring. Everything went so smoothly. The scheduler Erica is great she worked with my time line. The floor installers show up on time which is very rare for a trade. My floors looks so beautiful I can't recommend them enough. My sales guy was Roger. The installers were Oscar & Rick I must say they took out my ceramic flooring and didn't scratch any of my cabinets which I was so nervous about amazing!! Also found an inch trim to match my cabinet. Cleaned up every night before they left. I also had the painter come and paint my baseboards which is why we hired them because no other hardwood floor company wood paint or replace the baseboards after the job was finished. Thank you to everyone @ Precision flooring! read more

A few years back I purchased my carpet and had the installation done by Lowe's. Big mistake. The carpet began to have rolls and creases within a year. Contacted Lowe's and they would not come fix it unless I paid quite a bit of money. I contacted Precision Flooring and the next day I had an employee at my house, re-stretching my carpet and fixing all the mistakes Lowe's had made. The job was done in under an hour and done correctly. Precision Flooring customer service was great, quality of work was amazing and overall experience was excellent. I would recommend them to anyone looking for any flooring services/needs. read more

I LOVE my new floors and I have Donnie and Precision Flooring to thank for them. Not only are my new floors gorgeous, but the customer experience that they provided exceeded my expectations. We had both engineered hardwood and carpet put into our house. I went to three other places in town and Donnie at Precision Flooring was not only the most reasonable, but also the most professional and timely with his estimate. I am writing this review, so that hopefully other people don't have to waist their time getting quotes from several other places like I did. Overall, below is my rating for Precision Flooring: 1. How did my floors come out? (Five Stars) 2. Customer Service (Five Stars) 3. Office Staff (Five Stars) 4.Communication: Responsiveness to emails and phone calls (Five Stars) 5. Met timeline (Five Stars) 6. Stayed within budget (Five Stars) I HIGHLY recommend precision flooring!!! read more

I used this company to install baseboard, vinyl and carpet in my home back in 2016. After about 2 years, small edges of the vinyl started to pop up. This was only on the vinyl edges so it was minor, however, it doesn't look good and starts to become a little more noticeable over the years. They verbally told me that I had an 8 year warranty, so I figured I would fix it later in case a few more areas pop up in the vinyl. I reached out to them 2020, they say my warranty was only 1 year. Also, when dealing with the contractor, they told me if I do some of the work they would give me a discount. In they final pricing they tried to charge me full price, so I had to negotiate and received less discount than they promised. I guess you can't trust their word, so get everything in writing if you decide to deal with them. This company charges a lot to install flooring, so I would expect a little more from them. Unfortunately they fall short in trustworthiness so I will not use them to install floor in my next home. read more

We were referred to this business by my wife's coworker who was a pretty meticulous engineer very much like myself. I liked Donnie's personality right away and I considered our business to be theirs from our first meeting. Great people all around... the two crew men who spent the week at our home doing the work were simply FANTASTIC! The job consisted of about 1200 sq ft of hardwood floor for our downstairs. It was done flawlessly, a couple of small issues that needed to be addressed were taken care of to our satisfaction, and overall they delivered a 5 star service from start to finish. And I mean 5 star all around. I have recommended them to many friends/family, and will continue to do so. We will go back to them for our upstairs carpet needs. They will be our first choice when it comes to flooring. read more

My husband and I had bought a new home this spring, and being that our first two homes were turn key or new construction, I thought I was ready to tackle a larger place in need of some TLC. Picture over 3000 sq. ft, of out-dated maple everywhere, shoddy looking baseboards, and mismatched sections of laminate/ tile/ carpet that had to go. First step: have floors and bannisters done, as these were a huge focal point, I figured out pretty quickly this was going to be a big project- Oh, and did I mention I had three flights of stairs to deal with? I must have contacted over 20 places for the two bids in the first few months and it did not go well at first. Mainly because there was a huge communication gap. The flooring contracters were asking questions about the bannisters I couldn't answer and vice versa. As far as the flooring went, I had talked to enough professionals/ done enough research during the process to know when someone is trying to cut corners or feed me a line. Nearly everyone wanted to talk me out of gluing down ( in addition to the nails) or charge double for the nail and glue. Some places wanted to charge me $250 per step labor upcharge for installation on the stair part-at 60 plus steps that was a sticker shock. Enter: Don from Precision Flooring. Out of over 15 flooring contracters, Don was only the second person to actually address every concern I had during our initial meeting. I could tell about 10 minutes into our conversation that he would get the job done right- no cutting corners, Okay, so now I wasn't sure what to expect for his price quote, because the only other contractor to impress me to date was way outside my budget. But, suprisingly Precision Flooring's price quote was extremely competitive. I am a big believer that ' you get what you pay for' and these guys were exactly what I had been looking for- quality work for a competitive pice. I was sold. I will admit I probably visited the showroom like 5 times during the next few weeks to check out samples of engineered wood. I had been to nearly every showroom in the area at this point and I will say I found the best selection of up to date quality product here. I could tell they really paid attention to the latest flooring trends, Don was seriously awesome! And the other team members were great about helping me out when he wasn't around. I was looking for a European oak in a medium brown ( not too red, yellow, nor gray in undertones) with some character grade and a wire brushed or similar finish that showed a nice 'pattern'. Yeah, not too picky or anything, right?!..LOL Well, given my quest for perfection in everything, I am accustomed to feeling some level of annoyance from the salesperson whom gets stuck with me, But Don was always totally patient and spent a good deal of time teaching me about how the different finishes of wood will wear, maintenance/ upkeep- you know, the kind of things that would really ensure that I picked not only a visually perfect product, but one that suited my lifestyle and lived up to my expectations, I found a few that I liked in the showroom, but because I was on a budget Don ended up taking me to their wood wholesaler, where I ended up finding exactly what I was looking for. Added bonus, he called me the next day to let me know he had been able to negotiate an even better price on the wood. Three weeks later, Chico and Juan arrive to start the process. Did I mention I am living here while they do the floors..? Yep. AND iit wactually wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, Sure, there is noise and a lot of dust, but nothing some headphones and open windows can't fix. And when these guys left at night you could hardly tell it had been a construction zone during the day- they always kept the everything tidy and were even so courtious as to vacuum/ sweep the work area meticulously on account of the fact that my cat has an odd habit of eatting small foreign objects ( carpet tailings, wood chips, pieces of tape, ect) and I was paranoid about anything that could possibly lead too another emergency room trip ( and bill) for kitty. It was just amazing to watch these guys lay the floors- I was impressed with the fast, meticulous workmanship. They paid attention to every little detail and even let me pick out the stairnoses with the most prominent pattern for my main staircase. My baseboards look perfect too. Plus, on top of that, these guys were super polite and genuine. My husband and I could tell they really took a lot of pride in their work. Thank you to everyone at Precision Flooring for making this a great experience! My new floors look beautiful and my home is finally starting to feel like 'mine'. For reference, I had Monarch Navona Ombra installed throughout all three levels of my townhome and Tuftex 'shadow' carpet put in three of the bedrooms. read more

March 23, 2012 CONGRATULATIONS ON A JOB WELL DONE!!! Precision Flooring 550 Coleman Avenue San Jose, Ca. 95110 Attention: The Two Dons Dear Donny & Don: George and I want to let you know how THRILLED we both are with our beautiful new hardwood floor. You and your entire staff of employees have been wonderful throughout the whole process. Firstly, we appreciate the very professional manner in which all our requirements and needs, no matter what our requests, were handled. You kept us well informed on the status of everything, and stayed on top of all our many issues & concerns. We could not have been happier than we were with our two installers, Juan & Evi, who fit in like part of the family while they were with us. They were courteous, considerate, accommodating on every little request, very easy going, fun to have around, cleaned up behind themselves and, at the same time, are artistic perfectionists. The job they did is superb, and we thank them profusely. We were actually sorry to see them finish and have to leave us. We were astonished to have a professional painter, Bob, come in to touch up every little spot and then some, and then yet another employee, Eduardo, who came to replace the carpet on just one stair. We felt like we were getting the royal treatment all-round. And then, to top it all off, we were gifted with a lovely area rug as a (promotional) thank you for our business! You hear so many horror stories of hardwood installations; how lucky were we to have chosen the BEST! We really can't say enough as to how thrilled we are with our stunning new floor, and how much we enjoyed working with your company. Many, Many Thanks to you ALL for a job BETTER than WELL DONE!!! Sincerely, George & Lyn Blinkhorn San Carlos read more

I was hesitant, but they did a very good job. I was originally set to use another carpet company but at the last minute, they told me they didn't have the brand and color in stock and it would take 7-10 business days for a new shipment to arrive. Since this is a rental property and everyday that it sits empty is income lost, I decided to ask for a quote from Precision Flooring. Donnie said he could have it in stock on Friday (I called on a Wed) and install in on Monday. The quote was also reasonable (in fact, it was slightly less than my other quote) I was, of course thrilled but very hesitant to move forward due to some of the negative reviews here on Yelp. I conveyed my concerns to Donnie and he assured me that they would prove the bad reviews wrong. I am very happy with the outcome. The speed and quality of the work is superb. I took off 1 star because they left a scuff/smear on one of the freshly painted walls. I'm pretty sure I can clean it with a Mr. Clean eraser but I wish I didn't have add one thing to my never ending to - do list. read more

Awesome! i Just had upstairs carpet installation done by Precision Flooring. The installers (Fred and Richard) did an excellent job. These guys are professionals and know what they are doing. As a bonus Fred fixed my creaky floor before putting the new carpet down. Don the owner is the best. I needed carpet in a quick time frame. He said no problem they can do it sooner than I need it. I previously had them do hardwood downstairs. They do an excellent job and the price is good for the professional service they provide. I recently worked with Glen at Precision Flooring on a hardwood stairs installation. Glen did a great job providing professional support. I have been using Precision Flooring for many years. I have always received incredible service, excellent pricing and my clients are always very happy with the final results of their projects. I trust the quality and the labor that precision provides. I also trust the character of workman that will be in my client's home. Don Gupton is knowledgeable, easy to work with and honest. I am sorry that some people had a less than positive review but I have never had any issues and will continue to use Precision for all of my hardwood flooring needs. UPDATE 7/20/2016I recently used Precision for a job in SF and I need to give a shout out to the three men that completed this fabulous project; Eduardo, Rick and Aeneas the painter. This was no easy task, the job finished within 2 weeks during the 4th of July Holiday season...the floor looks amazing but with the skill and knowledge it takes to do the labor, it takes understanding, patience, communication and class to keep both me, the designer and the homeowner happy. So happy to have chosen Precision Flooring! Why I chose them: -family run, well established business -prettiest flooring around! I went with Private Reserve Collection - MADE IN THE USA!!!! milled in California - factory finished for ultimate wear - beautiful long wide planks available in engineered or solid! - hard hickory options. What gave them 5 stars: - Amazing staff - Conscientious on site, going above and beyond on different items (trap door for my crawl space is a master piece. Base boards stained to match existing cabinetry....). Huge prep done, sanding the subfloors to ensure they were level and quiet. I was sad to see them finish up because they were a JOY to have around. - Personable sales staff (really enjoyed working with Donny!) - I LOVE MY NEW FLOORS!!!!!! I would highly recommend them! My caveats for any installation with any company, are: 1. Confirm the lead time with the company providing the product as this can vary based on demand. 2. Be prepared for lots of dust with a properly prepped subfloor! Also, a secret they shared with me re: care of the hardwoods good old water and a bit of vinegar is the only cleaner you need!.... and this should be applied sparingly and only when needed.... read more

We just completed a whole kitchen remodel and we have Precision Flooring install laminate floor (with underlayment) in our kitchen and entry area. Our team is Tim, Jennifer, Shelia, Brando and Deniel. You need to understand that you will meet with at least three different groups of people: 1. The sale rep, for Q&A, and to place the order 2. The scheduler, to schedule your installation date and time 3. The flooring installers. It's out first home, so we put extra time and effort on finding the right company to do the job. We first heard about Preision Flooring through a good friend of us, and after we saw the floor in his house, we decided to visit the showroom. Precision Flooring has a large range of products; we met Tim there, who is very experienced and knowledgeable. We are also able to borrow samples home to make sure the floor match our kitchen. We have a very strict rule in our HOA. We need to provide information for HOA to approve before installation of new floors. Tim provided us information to send to HOA and made sure we chose the right flooring material and underlayment to meet the requirements. Tim also came in to take measurements and give various advices before we started our kitchen renovation project. Brando and Deniel did an amazing job installing the floor, they are professional and make sure the area is clean everyday before they leave. Jennifer makes sure everything meet our expectation. We have lots of compliment while our friends come and visit us. read more

Precision Flooring - Flooring Near Me - San Jose, California

I have used Precision Flooring on several projects and in every case have been very happy with both their service, responsiveness and most importantly the finished product. Most recently I needed to replace several prefinished flooring boards that Precision had installed 5 years ago as we had a friend's large dog badly scratched several of our flooring boards. This was a very technical and challenging job and Precision's installer, Evi, did a perfect job removing and replacing the boards in the middle of the floor without harming any of the adjacent boards. He was a real craftsman and I would certainly use Precision Floors again on my next project. read more

I could not be any happier than I am right now. I am a Realtor and hired Precision Flooring to update the floors in a client's home that will soon be for sale. The sales rep Tim was extremely knowledgeable, professional, and communicative. He also helped me determine the best way to deploy 2 different types of flooring instead of the 4 different kinds that existed before, and he let me see samples of stain on the floor before we committed to a color. We hired Precision to install luxury vinyl tile, replace the entry tile with hardwood to match existing hardwood floors, and then sand, repair, stain and finish all the hardwood. Evi did the installation of work which was completed impeccably and on time. The hardwood was done by Mariano who is incredibly gifted. The finished flooring produced an updated look and color scheme that is both beautiful and easy to maintain. Precision Flooring is now my go-to-flooring provider and they should be yours too! read more

We are remodeling our home and had Precision Flooring install new wood floors. We are mid-way into the process (the boards have been installed) and are about to undergo the sanding and sealing. Ebi is the gentleman who installed the planks, and did beautiful work. One detail I was concerned with was a door installed in our kitchen floor, which leads to our basement. I wanted the door to blend in as much as possible, which required matching the planks on the door to those on the floor surrounding the door. Ebi took great care to match the planks, which is not as easy as it might sound, as there is a good deal of variation in the wood we selected. We are very pleased. We begin the sanding and sealing process tomorrow and are optimistic we'll be as pleased with this step. read more
