I recommend Precision Comfort Systems Air and Heating. We moved into a 60-year-old house that had never had central air. My wife and I wanted new central air installed with a new furnace all relocated to the attic. This was not easy because many of the rooms have vaulted ceilings and there is very little attic space. This job also required asbestos abatement and new electrical. We chose Precision Comfort Systems based on the recommendations of our neighbors. Precision was able to meet all of our requests and overcome those challenges. Dennis also helped us choose an out of the way location for the new condenser which allowed us to keep all the refrigerant lines concealed. A previous estimate from another contractor would have placed the condenser in a less desirable location and left us with exposed refrigerant lines. They replaced all the ducting and registers and installed a new thermostat that is WiFi-compatible. Precision Comfort Systems did a great job. They were efficient, clean, and polite. Additionally, because they did the install during the Covid-19 pandemic, they wore a mask whenever they were working in the house. I would use Precision Comfort Systems again and don't have any reservations about recommending them. read more

Very Happy customer. In the midst of a heat wave my compressor stopped working - all AC repair companies were "swamped" and any hope for an appointment was weeks away - and companies that offered "emergency service" did not even return phone calls However, Steven at Precision Comfort was able to make an appointment for me for the next day but was then able to work me in at the end of the day I called. He quickly diagnosed my problem and repaired my unit for a total charge that was lower than the basic after hours service call charge from another company. Once again, Dennis and his guys Juan and Shawn came to the rescue. Our initial HVAC installer (referred to us by our GC) installed our ducts improperly, causing the furnace unit to overheat almost immediately upon turning on. Juan and Shawn came out and diagnosed the issue, then came back and not only fixed our existing airflow issue, but they also helped figure out how to actually IMPROVE the existing ductwork layout and added a few registers to help with the airflow. I bought my grandmothers house after she passed and when I started living there I noticed the heater had a funny smell when it was on so I called Dennis to come out. My grandmother had previously used him and I wanted to stick with someone who knew the equipment she had. He told me the whole unit was dangerous and needed replacing. I figured I'd stick with him since he was good enough for grandma, he was good enough for me. He gave me 3 quotes (high, medium and low) and I ended up going with the medium quote. Dennis at Precision Comfort Systems is likely the kindest, most helpful technician I have ever encountered. I called hoping to schedule a service call after my AC unit suddenly stopped working in my home during 100 degree weather. I'd called several companies before being referred by a friend to Precision only to be told I'd have to wait nearly a week for their first available appointment. But when I called Precision Comfort Systems, Dennis answered immediately and offered to put me on a waiting list for an appointment the next day. Already better news that I'd from others. I asked him if I could take a minute and explain what I observed to be the problem. And, after I explained the situation, he offered to walk me through a few steps right on the phone to see if he could help. I'm a single mother/homeowner without much knowledge or experience in understanding electricity, AC, etc. Dennis took me step-by-step through some troubleshooting while I wandered around the yard looking for the electric meter and breaker box. He was patient and educated me every step of the way ... and he solved the problem with me completely over the phone in about 15 minutes! He shared lots of information with me on what to watch for and how to handle events like this in the future. I can assure you, if and when my AC needs service in the future, I will 100% be contacting Precision Comfort Systems. Thank you, Dennis! I cannot express how grateful I am. read more

In March of 2008 Dennis and his assistant installed their "recommended system" for a reasonable price. It worked great until June of 2014, at which point I called Dennis, who by that time had changed his business name from "Southern California Comfort Systems" to the name as of the time of this review, Precision Comfort Systems. He said he would come out for the repair, and said that the visit would cost $89 but that he would deduct that cost from any required repairs. Dennis did not show up, but instead his assistant shows up, and repairs the TXV meter to the refrigerant coil, and mentions that he did not know what had gone wrong with it. He then charges me $359 and does not give me a receipt. When I inquire, the assistant states that his work is guaranteed for 90-days. I spoke to Dennis to see if he thought it was possible that the problem at that time might have been something he could have prevented, either through his work or through detecting a problem from the manufacturer, and Dennis's response was of the sort that HE BELIEVES it is not possible that it could have been Dennis's fault. He believes his work is perfect, and does not acknowledge that he could possibly have done something wrong. Obviously that is of potential concern, that was later to be realized. Nine months later (at the time of this review) the unit once again fails. Admittedly, there is some sprinkler damage to the unit, which might be causing the problem. I was forthcoming about that fact during a recent conversation with Dennis, who still wants me to pay the cost of another visit, and who in several conversations during the past few days has not been willing to admit the possibility that any of his previous work might have been done incorrectly. He still asserts that all of his previous work, including the repair of the TXV meter, was in all likelihood not his fault. BTW-the TXV unit is in the attic, and therefore any problem with it is not related to the sprinkler water damage--a belief that both Dennis and his assistance agree with. However, Dennis demonstrates here his reluctance to consider that he might have been at fault. I recall when the "customer was always right" but with Dennis the proclivity is for him to believe that Dennis is always right. Obviously that is a problem, and to be noted all the more carefully now that I am having frequent trouble with the unit. I don't have a problem admitting that the damage might be fault. But I DO HAVE A PROBLEM WITH DENNIS BEING SO RELUCTANT TO ADMIT HE MIGHT HAVE BEEN WRONG! Obviously I want to do business with people who don't have that problem and who wouldn't be reluctant to admit if they caused the problem. Previous to this review, Dennis had a perfect score of 5's. Apparently he has convinced his other customers of what he wants me to believe--that in Dennis's mind he can't be wrong. I warned him I would write this review, and in response he threatened to retaliate in a response. Of course, that would not surprise me coming from someone who can't admit fault. In conclusion, I believe the totality of the service from Dennis has been mid-range to poor. The unit worked well for a little over 6 years, after which it started to have trouble. Ideally I would have preferred to have the unit serviced by the person who installed it, but work done by someone who is reluctant admit he is wrong is likely to require a repeat--which at this point I would estimate to be at least $500/year if not a lot more. I'd rather take my chances with a new service provider. In sum, you get what you pay for. You might save a few bucks with Dennis but you'll pay for it later--both in dollars and headache--if/when you have trouble with the unit. read more
