Oh how the mighty have fallen. Back in the day- before private equity- Precision Air was the premier HVAC company. They installed my geothermal heat pump, and they were the best in the region for that. Over the years, service started declining until one day, they sent out a tech who couldn't find the outside unit (geo doesn't have one), and then gave me a clean bill of health. Tried to sell me some unneeded services to address an issue I didn't have and then left quickly with error codes flashing on the unit. *Sigh*. I called the company, but no one from service called back, or credited back the bi-annual 'service' I received. They were once great, were bought out, and now are terrible. So, I will be taking my service needs elsewhere. *WOW!* Just read the other reviews- it seems like there is consensus! read more

Precision Air is probably the worst company I've ever had the displeasure of working with. They install lemons and can't keep good technicians due to incompetent managemen. Save yourself time, money and headaches by NOT hiring Precision Air. read more

Every review from before this business changed hands 18 months ago is irrelevent. The before and after is stunning. A shadow of its former self. Sloppy, unscientific, and inexperienced. read more

Needed to replace furnace due to flood in basement. It was a Trane and they had installed a new AC from Daikin a couple of years ago. Salesman tried to add the compressor to the quote even though it had not been damaged. His arguments didn't make sense at all, saying he needed to match the equipment. First mistake. Repair people came at a different hour than planned. They were rather unpleasant and left without saying goodbye, after installing a $4,900 piece of equipment. They left trash behind the unit and moved the very expensive battery for the pump. At first day using AC, the pump failed and the unit flooded my basement. They came back, changed the pump and left. No body came back to test the installation and the thermostat. I had an appointment with the field supervisor who never came or called. The unit is leaking air and moister at every piece of tape badly installed. They never called to apologize about the missed appointment and to set up a new time to check the installation. I am not ready to pay this work soon. Very bad manners, scheduling and service. read more

This is the first time I've written a Yelp review because I usually don't feel the need due to the service/experience/ect., being good. However, regarding Precision Air, this is not the case. I had to replace my upstairs split system in Sept 2021 and I had multiple HVAC units quoted from different manufacturers. The son of the owners of Precision Air hard sold me on Daikin's split system. After a couple days of thought, my wife and I decided to go with Daikin vs. Carrier, etc. The system was installed and it worked flawlessly for 23 months and a few days. But, just before the 2 year anniversary of the purchase, the unit stopped cooling. I called Precision Air and they had someone come out within a couple days, which was acceptable. There service tech was in our house for about 1 hour and then told us that a "system board" on the unit needed to be replaced as Step-1 to see if that would fix the problem. He also stated that if the "new board" doesn't fix the problem, then we'd have to replace the outside unit of the split system. Here's where the problem started. That technician stated that he'd call me with an update regarding when Precision Air would have the part and when he'd be back to install it. He didn't call me. So, I called Precision and the same service tech that was at my house said it would be 2 or 3 days to receive the part and get back to my house to install it. Those days went by with no call from Precision. I called again and this time someone else answered and gave me the same story, we're trying to get the part and we should have it in 2 days. She said she'd call me and provide an update regardless, she did not. I called a third time and got someone different again. He said he check the status while I was on hold, he cam back and said the same thing, we're trying to get the part. All of this to say that Precision Air never proactively called me nor my wife to give us an update. After being talked into buying this Daikin system, Precision Air just moved on to the next customer. This is absolutely the worst customer service we've had in our house, which we've been in for 25 years. Once Precision Air fixes this problem, if they actually can, they will not do work for us in the future. Owners, if you care enough to discuss this, I'm waiting on your call. If not, well that explains the customer service I've not received. read more

My experience was not quite so stellar with these guys. We have a rental unit, and when the A/C went out last year my management company said these were the guys they used. A technician came out, re-charged the system and told the mgt company they knew what the problem was and would call me. They never did. Three weeks later, the unit had leaked down again and this company was called out again. They re-filled the unit again ($240 per filling) then finally called me to say we needed a new unit (to the tune of $5000). The technician apologized for not calling after the first fill-up, as he'd promised to do, and told me he'd take care of the 2nd fill-up. A few weeks later, I find out that they charged me for BOTH fill-ups. It was a major fight to get them to refund the over-billing amount and I've instructed my management company to never call them again. Incidentally, I replaced the unit myself for $2500. Don't call these guys unless you like getting ripped off. read more

The folks at Precision Air installed our geothermal HVAC system. They replaced our existing heat pump with a new 7 Series WaterFurnace unit. The geothermal loop system consisted of 3 vertical boreholes. Our experience with Precision Air was very favorable throughout the project. Tony visited our house to take measurements and answer any questions we might have prior to giving us an estimate. He was extremely knowledgeable about the product, installation and technical aspects of a geothermal system. The bid was quite competitive with other bids. I was pleasantly surprised, because the Series 7 WaterFurnace is a more efficient unit than those offered by other HVAC installers. The driller that was used specializes in geothermal boreholes. He is not a water well driller that also does geothermal. The Precision Air crew that installed the WaterFurnace, ductwork, hot water assist and zone controls were very competent. They were conscientious about making sure the install was fully functional and aesthetically pleasing. The metalworker was quite an artisan. They also were very diligent about keeping the install area clean. They wore covers over their boots and swept up all the debris. I visited their location in Murfreesboro, and it is the cleanest most organized HVAC shop I have seen. While buying parts for my previous HVAC unit, I had asked the tradesman for a recommendation on geothermal installation. His answer said it all. He responded that there are a lot of companies that will do geothermal installs, but if you want it done right, call Precision Air. I can't agree more! read more

Have you ever had your air conditioner stop working right in the middle of one of the biggest heat waves on record? We just did and let me tell you, we were upset with the heat and we did not know if we were going to be able to get our air conditioner working again. It was scary, because we were low on cash that week. Our air conditioner would only buzz and blow hot air through the house. I called around and explained what was happening (the buzz and hot air). Two different company reps told me, "there are currently great discounts and tax rebates for new air conditioners". I told them that I appreciated that, but I really needed to find out if I could get the one I have, repaired. One company told me they were booked up today and could schedule me for the day after tomorrow and the other one wanted $149 to come to our house. So, back to searching I went.... We searched all the air conditioner places near us and found Precision Air. They have a fifteen second express request form on their web site that I filled out in 20 seconds (I am not that fast at typing...LOL). Precision Air called me right back and set-up a time to come to our house. They called back earlier than we originally scheduled and told me that they were in my area - could they stop by early. I said, "Come on over." They got here pretty quick and and within 15 minutes the air conditioner was up and running! Let me tell you all, it was a BIG relief. How do you spell relief? C o o l A i r! That's how. We could not afford a new air conditioner unit. In fact, we just had to have our car fixed and it took most of the emergency money we had saved. Despite having troubles this week...I thought I could help others by telling of my experience and how I was approached with replacing my unit and finally finding a honest company with fair pricing and superior service. Precision Air made everything easy for us with down to earth pricing. We live in a two story home, so I knew a new system was going to be expensive. The repair was less than 5% of the cost to replace our system. I've heard horror stories from people in flooded homes and similar unfortunate situations. Let it be known that Precision Air, Inc. treated me well and I have confidence they do this with their customers. One great addition: our electric bill went down by 25%...apparently the tune up we got with the repair - actually paid for itself this month, because our electric bills are a lot less than they were, before the repair. Strange how good things come from unfortunate events, sometimes. BTW: If you get a Tech named John...He really cool and knows his stuff. He gave me all kinds of energy saving tips and that could be another reason my electric bills have calmed down since the repair. Thanks John. read more

After having to ditch our previous HVAC company, we used Precision Air to re-do our entire HVAC system when our furnace broke in November. We knew that a breakdown like this was coming with a 14 year old furnace and a 30 year old AC. The rep. who came out to price the new system had lots of helpful suggestions. We ended up getting a Trane dual fuel heat pump system with a 3 years same as cash deal from the manufacturer. The Precision Air guys came over the span of two days and did excellent work. They moved the placement of the compressor unit so that it isn't an eye-sore next to the deck, and in the basement, they moved the unit to a corner and out of the center of room. Now we have a nice fancy thermostat that we can program and even control it from the internet! Precision Air was reliable and they did excellent work for us. read more

Excellent service!! Our A/C went out and had to have a special order part. Precision went above and beyond to get us taken care of super fast when no other ("24/7") company would even return a call over a holiday weekend. These guys are extremely knowledgeable and professional we truly could not have asked to be in better hands. I'm shocked that there are actually companies that operate with this level of professionalism and knowledge. Everyone from office staff, dispatch and the service tech are the nicest people and actually compassionate. We will never call anyone else !! read more

Precision Air is a dependable company that cares about their customer. We were working with another Heating and Air Company that never returned calls and kept pushing back the install date for our new compressor- although they had the part at their store. After over a week extremely high temperatures outside and inside our house we saw a recommendation for Precision Air on a negative review of the other a/c company. The reviewer stated they also experienced terrible service from the other company and had wonderful things to say about Precision Air. I couldn't agree more. Precision Air installed a new compressor the day after we called, has great customer service, knowledgeable technicians, and great follow-up! Thank you Mike, Mark, and Rick for the Great Service!!! read more

Precision air was great to work with our schedule when our a/c went out. They called to follow up and left a detailed note .... Since we were not able to be home. They exceeded our expectations! A/C has been cooling every day since the repair. read more

We worked with Troy and had a very great experience. He was able to come to our house and see what kind of new unit we needed and by the end of the week, we had a new central heat and air unit installed and it took very little time! The installers were prompt and very friendly and efficient. Overall, I was very satisfied and will continue to do business with them! They even offered great financing so we were able to get payments that were even lower than through our local credit union! read more

We scheduled an estimate to repair and/replace the ducts under the house. A guy came out and did not even go under the house. He handed my husband a roll of duct tape and said that is all his people would do so might as well save $800. The duct is SHREDDED in one area and the exhaust is separated from the house. He would have known this if he would have done his job and looked at the ducts. But free duct tape for me and $800 loss for him. read more

Follow up - the owner of the company reached out to me after seeing this review and apologized for the experience I had. I left the phone call convinced that he is running and ethical, honest business and is truly dedicated to serving customers. After this conversation I would consider using Precision Air again. read more

We went through Precision Air and the TVA to replace our central heating and air unit.Which the TVA has many requirements when installing such as sealing all the duct work properly, new tape on the duct work and making sure there are no leaks. A few years down the road I noticed the boots at the vents started rusting real bad and mold growing under the vents. I called Precision Air and they had a person come over and totally inspect our house and he said it wasn't mold under our vents on the carpet and his only explanation was we need a pest person to come check under our house. Turns out after two A/C companies coming out this week (Both saying the same thing), we have leaky duct work. That they were shocked it passed TVA. That a lot of the taped seams were the original tape from when the house was built 20 something years ago. That they wrapped and insulated messed up duct work. I'm so upset that we have to replace everything when the guy could have just told us from the get go that there was a problem with our duct work when he came over instead of recommending a pest company. I have used them for twice a year service but, NO MORE. Be weary of this company. read more

I had a great experience with this company when I was in a bind with a rental property of mine. The HVAC went out the morning of the hottest day of the year. These guys worked me in and arrived at my house three hours after I called them. I will definitely call them next time I need any of my HVACs serviced or repaired. Thanks Mike and Josh. read more
