Thank you . The service people (all of them) have kept my 25+ year unit chugging along for many years. They do annual maintenance work, major system installation and everything in-between correctly and reasonably priced. Better yet, the service people are polite, never aggressive. They will always explain the problem and show you the damage by picture or the actual part which means a lot to an old lady (with no mechanical ability). Oh, as far as my old unit, I am getting them to install a new one soon.

Had a 2nd opinion come out and ask me who was messing around with the fan because it was hooked up in reverse. The 2nd opinion tech was able to get the unit working at the service call without the freon they told me I needed or new condenser fan. Also important to note, there would have been no way for the unit to have been operational two full summers) with the fan in reverse, leaving the only people to have reversed the fan direction being J&J. When presented with this information, J&J became defensive and instead of apologizing, refused to come out and fill up the freon on the other unit. If they weren't so defensive, I'd be more inclined to give them the benefit of the doubt. They instead chose to get ugly with me leading me to believe I had uncovered their scam. Again, proceed with caution. Attached is the bid with the condenser fan that wasn't needed and supporting text from my tenant who as also told our problem was the fan going the wrong direction.

Would not recommend. I had a 3 ton AC unit installed. They replaced my old unit with a new one in…read morea different location that was convenient for them. This meant not putting the unit further back in the crawl space but right in the way of my crawl space entrance. This also meant installing a new pad that sits beside my already large and accommodating pad for the units, which also blocks a sprinkler head. The pump/drain installed was put right next to the house so water would drain between the foundation of my house and the pad. That also created a lot of algae buildup. I fixed this myself. Does the unit blow cold air, yes. Is this quality work? Not in the slightest. Despite this experience I called this company out to have my air ducts looked at for potential cleaning. A recommendation was made to have my air ducts cleaned. The quote received referenced systems being cleaned. It was NOT clear when they first came out they would only be doing 1 of 2 systems. I learned this while the work was being done. I reached out to express my frustration that a $1200 duct cleaning was only for 1 of the 2 systems. I received a call back with the technician citing he only looked at one system. The technicians explanation and the quote did not make it clear that only 1 system would be cleaned. Strange too that the odor that triggered this duct cleaning was on the system they installed. I had no issues with the original system that was there for 13 years. I will not only NOT recommend this company, I'll go out of my way to warn others. There are plenty of companies looking to earn peoples business, and I'm glad to give it to them.

I do not like to get one opinion so I called our normal company. They came right out, found the leak without $300 leak detection and said it would be $800 out the door. In addition he charged it and said it would last us a week and call if we needed him before then. I do give credit to Covenant for coming out but charging us 3 times as much was ridiculous.

Nothing fancy; just clean and check the unit for the summer. That's when they came to my house and told me that my unit had over five problems, including leaking refrigerant, bad capacitors, electrical work, etc. Funny enough, their first quote was for 8k, which was to "fix these terrible problems." However, they gave me another crazier solution, to get a brand new unit, which was only 2 tons for a small house for 11k. Kid, you not. I went and got a second opinion, and as I suspected, my HVAC connections weren't the prettiest, but had no problems. The other HVAC professional also found out that they only cleaned a portion of the unit, so he installed a new disconnect, re-did my drain line, sealed my flashing, and rewashed my unit for $600 bucks. I called a couple of the larger HVAC companies for emergency service, but they all told me it would be the next day before they could come out. Then I called Highlands Cooling. Cody was already on his way to an appointment in Clarksville (I live in Nashville), but he told me he'd come by afterward and guaranteed we'd have air conditioning that night. He kept me updated the entire time, arrived when he said he would, quickly diagnosed and fixed the problem, and got our AC running again. Just as promised, my wife, our newborn, and I had cool air that night. And did it for a very fair price! I can't thank Cody and Highlands Cooling enough for coming through when we needed them most. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for honest, reliable, and responsive HVAC service.

When I first moved in, it sounded like a freight train was taking off when the second stage kicked in, and papers/curtains would literally fly around the room. I've had two other techs come look at it so far. The first tech disconnected the second stage, which caused a ton of humidity issues last summer. The second tech said he could dump the extra air in the garage or outside. I gave up last year and ran a dehumidifier to make it through the end of summer. This summer, I decided I'd try one more time before looking at replacement units. Ben Fraser from Roscoe Brown came out and spent quite a bit of time digging in. He found one major issue - the TXV was not set properly, so the unit was not cooling properly. He reconfigured the valve and reconnected the 2nd stage. Finally, he adjusted the airflow to be much more reasonable for the ductwork. The result is much cooler air, much better dehumidification, and no more freight train! It's not perfect, but it will keep me from having to buy a new unit for several more years. The price was fairly high compared to some of the non-name-brand techs, but the results were great. I was happy with the price considering the results.
