As for our HVAC we have had considerable work done on it over the past year, and at every step Airstream was honest, professional, and transparent with their pricing while respecting our budget and time. After the 2026 winter storm, we found that the system had been taxed significantly and Airstream has worked with us over the past few months to get it back into tip-top shape for the summer heat. Proctor and Graves bid came in at around HALF of other bids; yes, you heard that right HALF of other bids, but here's the real value on that. The HALF of other bids was on superior equipment/manufactor according to Consumer Reports. The HALF price was on an American Standard when other's were bidding double there cost on low-end GOODMAN systems. The work was done on time, with installers who were careful and courteous and the clean up and removal of old equipment was accomplished all within a span of a few hours. Anyone in or around the north and east side of Nashville would be well served to have this company bid your major A/C work. Oh, and let me add. Their service fee of $69? That's $20 LESS than the company I've used previously in the Gallatin/Hendersonville area.

I've struggled for a bit with my upstairs HVAC unit. The unit was poorly installed, low quality,…read moreand way oversized. When I first moved in, it sounded like a freight train was taking off when the second stage kicked in, and papers/curtains would literally fly around the room. I've had two other techs come look at it so far. The first tech disconnected the second stage, which caused a ton of humidity issues last summer. The second tech said he could dump the extra air in the garage or outside. I gave up last year and ran a dehumidifier to make it through the end of summer. This summer, I decided I'd try one more time before looking at replacement units. Ben Fraser from Roscoe Brown came out and spent quite a bit of time digging in. He found one major issue - the TXV was not set properly, so the unit was not cooling properly. He reconfigured the valve and reconnected the 2nd stage. Finally, he adjusted the airflow to be much more reasonable for the ductwork. The result is much cooler air, much better dehumidification, and no more freight train! It's not perfect, but it will keep me from having to buy a new unit for several more years. The price was fairly high compared to some of the non-name-brand techs, but the results were great. I was happy with the price considering the results.

Nothing fancy; just clean and check the unit for the summer. That's when they came to my house and told me that my unit had over five problems, including leaking refrigerant, bad capacitors, electrical work, etc. Funny enough, their first quote was for 8k, which was to "fix these terrible problems." However, they gave me another crazier solution, to get a brand new unit, which was only 2 tons for a small house for 11k. Kid, you not. I went and got a second opinion, and as I suspected, my HVAC connections weren't the prettiest, but had no problems. The other HVAC professional also found out that they only cleaned a portion of the unit, so he installed a new disconnect, re-did my drain line, sealed my flashing, and rewashed my unit for $600 bucks. Do it at your own risk. I have never seen something like this, not even when I used to live in NY they tried to upcharge me like that.
