I've had mine done since the advent of lash extensions more than a decade ago so I've gotten to know a lot about it. Most importantly, I've gotten to know who is a competent lash tech/artist and who's not because their skill is directly reflected on my face. I had mine done by Thalia here at this establishment. [I normally go to a different lash salon (Alyssa's Eyelash) but I had to get it done last minute so]. The PROBLEM at the outset with THALIA is her LACK of communication/assessment of what the client needs or wants for her lashes. She didn't talk much nor smile ( but it's perfectly fine with me). But at least ask what my target or goal shape would be before pouring the extensions on my eyeballs. If she talked it was kinda condescending, so it made it hard to communicate what you wanted for lash She exudes the bad vice as if she had her doctorate degree in lash Ext. placement; therefore, you or no one questions her). As a result, when she had my eyes open at the end, I was unsatisfied with the shape- I wanted more of a cat-eye shape. So, she re-taped my eyes shut and added a few long, pubic- hair like curly lash at the outer canthus. So, now I have a curly lash at the outer end of my eyeballs that look like public hair as they curl and come up touching my eyelids?! Today I got a full set of lashes , synthetic natural/ cat eye and I love them!!! Vivian did a great job and took her time. My visit lasted the whole 2 hours. Last time I got lashes (at another place) my eyes were blood shot immediately and my lady only took 15 minutes to do individual lashes! Crazy. Vivian took her time and although my eyes were a tad bit irritated during the lash application it didn't last long and when she was done they felt fine. I also love that they have sensitive glue just in case or for my future appointments. All in all the Salon is super cute! Vivian was awesome and most importantly I love my lashes. Amanda did my fist set of lashes yesterday. I have very sensitive skin and many allergies so a few days prior I went in and had a couple lashes placed to make sure I didn't have a reaction. Got my first set of eyelashes here. I walked in checked in with receptionist like normal. I was surprised at how pretty the decor was. The tech I worked with was knowledge and answered all my questions. It took about 2 hours since it was my first time. (Plenty of time to sleep.) Initially I loved my lashes! I was batting my eyes all night. Lol but 6 days later I'm an somewhat unhappy with them. One eye is still full of lashes and the other is somewhat empty. I'm kind of disappointed in my results, since I was under the impression that they should last 2 weeks. I willing to bet these won't last that long. Overall, these lashes were great for the party I had the day I got them, but I can't imagine consistently having them. I got my eyelashes permed May 4 and the technician did them too curly for my taste, so I called and booked another appointment to have them relaxed. It has now been over a month and my eyelashes are still too curled, the lashes closer to my tear ducks are basically stuck to my eyelids. They get tangled and messy after I wash and dry them. The only way I think they look normal is when I wet them, it weighs them down I guess. I also apply mascara to thto try to weigh them more but when they dry they still look too close to my eyelid. I came here yesterday to get my eyelash extensions done. To sum it up... I LOVE THIS PLACE. I have had many bad experiences at other eyelashes places but this place makes me feel like anyone can get them done. It took me a while to schedule the appointment because it was booked and full on the schedule but when I called to schedule Ashley picked up and she kept me updated in what days were free throughout the week! After I went in I filled out some paperwork and I sat with my lash technician makena! She was amazing and informative. I told her that my eyes are really sensitive and I don't really want heavy lashes but lashes with volume. Because I also have monolids I was very concerned that my eyelids would push the lash extensions. I initially came for the volume .7 lash but she recommended the .5 volume lashes with D curls to curl around my monologue with an open eye shape to open up my small eyes! She told me that 1-5 of my lashes will shed a day and that's normal. She left a little room from my real lashes to the extensions so it wouldn't irritate my lash line. I can't even feel then. I payed either $160 or $180 I'm not sure I forgot. Love the results! She was very experienced. Although I think I might get the squirrel shape next time :) I'll write an updated in 2 weeks! Update: so the lashes fell and I blame mostly myself. This was my first time getting bomb lash extensions but I didn't really know how to care for them. My eyelids are a bit oily and I was messing with them so I expected this to happen. The eye that I didn't really mess with was fine so it's not the tech or studios fault just my failure to care for them. I still love this place and will come for a touch up soon. Nice staff, poor quality. Came in spent $100 plus tip on new full classic lashes. Two hours later lashes were not full at all! Artist wanted me stay an additional 20/30 mins. Which I was unable. Two hours or less usually works well for me. I was unable to say. Within the week just (one) week lashes had completely fell leaving a few on each. Called and one of the mgrs. were willing to accommodate a refill at a discounted price. After the money wasted and not completely satisfied with the outcome to refill I just took my business elsewhere. Hope maybe it will help someone else. I decided to come here from a recommendation from my mother because she knows the owner Melissa and tells me how amazing she is when it comes to cut and color. (Determined from Facebook) So I decided to book an appointment to change up my hair color (add highlights) for my birthday. During my appointment, the girl who did my hair wasn't even the owner my mom told me to get my hair done by. It was her blonde assistant so I was reluctant. But anyways, I showed her a photo from Pinterest of what I would like to be done. The owner comes over and says that the estimate will be $230. What?! Not even for a cut or a full head dye. JUST HIGHLIGHTS. I was upset with the price but didn't back out now because I was already there and hoped the results will be worth the price. So an hour and a half later, it was time to take out the foils in my hair to wash. As the girl was taking out the foils she had a weird look on her face and calls over the owner to tell her, "her roots went lighter then the rest of her hair what do I do? So the owner told her to just darken them. After the wash she asked if I wanted to cut my ends because it was so dead. Of course I asked how much first because the highlights were so expensive already. She told me it will be an extra $35 I said NOPE. And she told me "well the next time you go to a salon I recommend you to cut your ends because 2 inches of it are dead." On that note, after the blow dry it was time for me to pay. I gave her 15% tip with the $230 because it's always nice to tip and she was nice although she made it seem like she was still a student working on my hair. Let me tell you this uncertainty makes me uncomfortable. Especially when I'm paying a high price. It ended up okay. The highlights were unnoticeable and random. Not like the photo I wanted. That following week I've seen a lot of my coworkers getting their hairs done too and I felt their hair looked so much better than mine! I asked how much did they pay and my friend with the bright red ombré said "$130" and my other friend who went from brunette to BLONDE said she only paid "$100". Wow. Makes me even more disappointed. I won't come back here again for hair. I will for eyelashes though because they're the closest place I know so far that offers Novalash but that's about it. read more

After spending hours looking for a local salon and reading countless reviews, I knew I had found the right hair salon when I came across Proverbs 31 Hair Studio. I have never colored my hair before and was looking for an easy way to transition into the new me. Melissa was wonderful and helped talk me through the process. When I called to book my appointment, the gentlemen who answered was very professional, booked my appointment same day and told me the set price on a full set. I showed up and waited 15 min for my eyelash tech since she ran late for my appointment. That didn't sit well with me but that wouldn't be a deal breaker. I understand things happen.. I was walked back to her area, she didn't change the table cover from the previous client, let alone dust it.. She gave me a blanket but it was obvious it was VERY dirty with crumbs on it and what not. She then proceeded with my eyelash extensions (keep in mind when I called I asked for an experienced lash tech and the receptionist clarified she is very experienced) She took almost about 2 and a half hours.. She was sick because she kept sneezing and sniffing and kept having to blow her nose.. I felt so uncomfortable. At the end of the appointment, I realized she used the thinnest eyelashes you could barely see I had any extensions on. lol.. A huge disappointment.. and I had gaps.. She then proceeded to check me out and charge me $50 more than what was told to me over the phone. (I don't blame her for this up charge because she didn't know I was told a certain price, but this where any client would be confused and turned off.) I would not recommend this place. The salon is clean, the atmosphere is very comfortable, and Melissa is truly gifted at what she does. She treats you like family- always remembers details about the last time we talked, asks how things are going ... She takes the time to get to know her clients, rather than typical salon 'chit-chat.' Melissa is a perfectionist and my eyelashes look GORGEOUS after every visit. I receive lots of compliments from friends and co-workers, but they can never quite pinpoint what is different about me.
