I just pointed to the slices I wanted, they were quickly warmed up, and the prices were very reasonable. We walked to the nearby fountain to eat them outside and had a nice first evening in Rome thanks to Yelp bringing us to this place and the wonderful people who run it. It's not really an indoor eating establishment, there are a few tables, but it's more of a quick-stop grab and go sort of place with excellent pies. Recommended!

Not busy but steady traffic around 9:45 on a Tuesday evening. A good amount of Roman square pizza options. We got a slice of just about everything that was available. Potato/sausage (stood out as we hadn't had this before), Zucchini Pesto was delicious, Ham and classic Margherita also didn't disappoint. Crust was light/airy and made for the perfect balance between crust and toppings. Beer and soft drinks were also available. Service was quick and friendly. If in the Monti district, make this stop for reasonably priced traditional pizza al trancio.

I decided to give this place a try after reading some very positive reviews on TripAdvisor…read more Kudos, to the reviewers at TripAdvisor because this was definitely our best meal while in Italy. What makes this restaurant special, is that the chef puts his own spin on traditional Italian food and cooks it to order. This of course takes time, so be prepared to spend 2 hours + for dinner. The decoration is quite eclectic which you normally would not associate with an superb restaurant but somehow it works and makes for an enjoyable and relaxed atmosphere. For appetizers, we had the Antipasto Vegetariano, an assortment of vegetarian appetizers that is enough for two. The antipasto featured an onion souffle, Buffalo Mozarella with peppers and zucchini flowers stuffed with ricotta cheese to name a few. Everything was excellent, very balanced flavors and a nice presentation. For our first dish (Primi Piatto) I had the (Spaghetti) Gricia, which is almost a Carbonara, and it was probably one of the best renditions that I have ever had of this dish. My buddy had the Vermicelli Cacio which was a typical Roman pasta dish featuring lemons and mint which was also very pleasant. Unfortunately the pasta dishes were so big that we never made it to the Secondi Piatto so we skipped this and went straight for the dessert. I had the sampler which included the Mousse di Ricotta, the Zabaione and the Mantecato di Pistaccio. My favorite was the Zabaione. The service is excellent and friendly as only the Italians can be. I will definitely go out of my way to come her next time I am in the vicinity of Rome.

I stumbled on this delicious vegan restaurant while wandering the streets of Rome. I would've never…read moreguessed that the dish was vegan had I not read the menu more closely. The cheese was creamy and delicious, and the vegan bacon was crunchy with the perfect texture - just like real bacon. The owner stated that it was made from pea protein, which I also would never have guessed. PRO TIP: The they close the kitchen between lunch and dinner (at 3:30) so be sure to get there earlier for full access to the menu. Even though I arrived late, the waiter asked the kitchen to make me carbonara, and I'm so glad they did! I will definitely be coming back here again to try their other vegan dishes. The bruschetta was also phenomenal. The tomatoes are so much sweeter and the olive oil so smooth, much better than in the U.S. And of course, I can't forget the noodles - perfectly al dente and fresh. I feel so spoiled when I eat pasta in Italy!

All this is to say, while in Italy, I've had excellent cheese - and with vegan cheese being hit or miss, I went in a bit nervous about the vegan cheese platter appetizer. However, the cheese really blew me away: it was excellent vegan cheese and with great variety. The cheese on the platter had different textures and different flavors (including one with a delicious kick that I happily would've bought a block of) and did a great job emulating non-vegan cheese plates. I followed this up by trying their 3-d printed steak in pumpkin sauce. Firstly, the pumpkin sauce was incredible: I generally only tolerate pumpkin-based products, but I found this pumpkin sauce delicious - excellent flavor profile and perfectly complimenting the steak. For the steak: you definitely won't confuse this with actual meat, but it was still good and flavorful - and the texture itself was super interesting. It had the bit of a real steak but with layers and complexity. I'm very glad I ended up trying this. All in all, the dishes we ordered were all great - and really interesting. I'd highly recommend this place to anyone - even if you aren't vegan!
