Definitely try out yogafreak (or just join monthly unlimited;)…read more The classes here are amazing with bright energy and passionate, knowledgeable instructors. My favorite part is the different types of classes you can take, so it's not just original hot yoga but other types as well along with HIIT of course! This makes it fun to switch it up and also take a couple of classes in a row if you wanted, since they schedule different ones back to back. Another hugeeeee plus for me is that they have early morning classes and late at night if you slept through the morning ones like I often do LOL (along with late morning/ mid day, early evening etc). Additionally, the staff is nice & welcoming and I oftentimes see instructors paying extra attention/TLC to newcomers If you're a hot room lover then deff come to Yoga Freak ASAP!!!!

This studio prioritizes rigid policy over customer care, and I want to be specific so others can…read moremake an informed decision before booking. Their late policy is absolute: arrive even one minute past your class time and you will be locked out and charged -- no exceptions, including unforeseen circumstances. They do not answer their phone and do not accept voicemail, so there is no way to reach anyone in real time if something goes wrong. If you have time blindness, executive function challenges, ADHD, Cptsd, or a highly sensitive nervous system, this studio is not designed with you in mind. It is not trauma-informed, and the environment does not accommodate neurodivergence in any meaningful way. For those who need consistency and predictability, it's also worth knowing they have modified the traditional hot yoga sequence -- so what you practice here may not be what you expect. The waitlist system is also poorly communicated; you may not know you've been moved from a class you reserved until it's too late to plan around it. Beyond logistics, the atmosphere feels cold and unwelcoming -- though I'll leave it to others to determine how much of that is the studio versus the region. This studio is BUSINESS FOCUSED rather than CUSTOMER focused, which contributes to the stressed, unfriendly state of the world today. There are wonderful yoga communities out there that lead with warmth and genuine flexibility. This one, in my experience, is not among them.

But I didn't let my self-doubt talk me out of it. Chris and David were incredibly supportive and answered any questions I had prior to class; they set me up with a mat, blocks, and blankets. I intend to go back for more classes as soon as my schedule permits. This studio can accommodate the newest of beginners to those with years of practice. They provide a comfortable and knowledgeable space to help grow your yoga practice. Highly recommend.

We chose the Yoga Garden, and we both attended together. I had never taken a yoga class before, but Patty was extremely welcoming and made me feel comfortable. I didn't know any yoga prior to taking my first class at Dragonfly Wellness Yoga Studio, but it…read moredidn't matter because owner Kendra Rossney explained and demonstrated everything in a way that was easy to understand. Kendra stresses the importance of listening to your body, and not straining to hold a pose if your body is struggling. "I give bonus points for falling out of a pose," she often says. She also suggests that if she leads the class into a pose, it's okay to do something different if that's what your body needs. I took a few prenatal yoga classes at the beginning of the summer, but there was not enough interest to continue the class. Instead I go to regular classes, but Kendra always gives me modifications for things that I can't or shouldn't do while pregnant. I have heard that doing prenatal yoga poses and practicing the deep-breathing techniques that we learn in class will help ease labor, and I can't wait to experience this. Dragonfly Wellness offers more than just yoga, and I have been getting regular prenatal massages from Julie Johnson since my second trimester. At first I went once a month, and now that I'm in my third trimester I'm going for a prenatal massage every other week. I have been able to avoid much of the back pain that is typical in pregnancy, and I appreciate that Julie is able to adjust my massage each time based on what particular complaints I have, such as by focusing a bit longer on my shoulders if that's where I have tightness. She can even feel problem areas I may not even realize I have. And my unborn baby loves our massages too, if her kicking is any indication! I've now been taking classes here for over a year and getting massages for more than 6 months, and I know I'll continue coming to Dragonfly for years to come.

It's a small studio with two yoga/workout rooms but has a HUGE community feel. Drop in class are $20 but they offer tons of packages from class cards to full membership. Besides yoga they offer Pilates, tai chi, cardio, personal training and specialized workshops/events. Gentle Yoga @4PM on Sunday is led by Liz Lazo who added a little bit of Zen via starting with meditation (a bit more than breath in/out) before guiding us through the gentle yoga practice. It was a small class just 2 people so she tailored the class to our needs (back/hips). She is excellent but since she's also my cousin I will list her bio not written by me! Liz Lazo has been practicing yoga for over 13 years and has received instruction in Hatha, Iyengar, Kripalu & Vinyasa styles. She earned her 200 Hour Vinyasa Teacher Training certificate through Living Yoga with Liz Schulman and Richard Villella in March 2013. Liz is a registered member of Yoga Alliance. In addition, she attained the First Degree of Reiki through Ginny Mackles in March 2011 and applies the principles to her work as a yoga student and instructor.
