However, after just one class, I was hooked! Fast forward to today, I've completed 91 classes, and I can confidently say this studio has exceeded all my expectations. The instructors, the staff, and the entire atmosphere are incredible. They truly care about their clients, are open to feedback, and consistently display a high level of professionalism. Thanks to Club Pilates Briarcliff, my life, body, and even my back have significantly improved. I've made wonderful new friends in class and go as often as I can. I've also lost over 20 pounds and am in the best shape I've been in years. A huge thank you to Sabrina and the entire team for welcoming me into the Club Pilates family, it really feels like a family there!!!

Not for beginners…read more Booked a class for my husband and I, his back is about to go and he's been told Pilates is a good way to strengthen his core. It was the first class for the both of us. The instructor/owner let us know a few times we should have booked private instruction, I thought because of his back. Class was pretty amazing, again our first time so it kicked our butts. We were obviously the beginners of the group but we tried our best to keep up and I don't believe we slowed the class down. I was feeling pretty good afterwards, it's been a while since I "did a workout" and had that nice endorphin rush; I told her we'd def be back, presumably for private sessions. It's just... on the way out I overheard the instructor greeting students for the next class and what she said just made me not want to return. "Have you done Pilates before?" The girls answered yes. "Oh, thank God! I'm dying..." So, yeah. If you know what you're doing and are going for the routine and equipment, it's a lovely space. If you want to go to a class to learn how to do Pilates, it sounds like this is not really the place for that.

I started out as beginning pilates student having only taken one discouraging mat class before and became a devoted regular even throughout my entire pregnancy. The classes are small, typically more than 6-8 students and so you get very individual attention. Lisa is a great teacher, patient, precise in her direction, always looking to see whether you're exhibiting correct form. Also I learned about diastasis which is when your stomach muscles split while pregnant. Thanks to Lisa I managed to avoid that fate. Beyond the great instruction, I've found her classes to be a real community. I've had such great support and encouragement from other classmates, especially the moms in the class. It was like they were rooting for me all the way to have a great pregnancy experience. Lisa also runs potlucks and clothing swaps among her students and in general just makes the atmosphere fun and more than just about exercise.
