Later on I needed some plumbing work done, I made several calls to their company but never heard back. Two days ago I contacted them again for a plumbing issue. The man on the phone asked if yesterday afternoon or today (9:30 am) would be better. I said today would be fine. 9:30 am came and went. I made several calls to two different numbers yet I was never able to contact them or get a call back. This interaction has proven that even though they did an excellent first job, it is a waste of time trying to contact them again. As much as I hate to do it, I am forced to rate this business as a one star due to a lack of communication and a less than decent effort to return my calls. If you can get them out to your house you will get great results. The trick is, getting them there to do the work. I won't make the mistake of contacting them again.

At the same time, I was in the middle of buying some machinery from a Sonoma County equipment company. During a conversation with the salesman, I was asked what my experience has been like at the new place. My response was about 50/50. I had met some great contractors and some that made me question why I even wanted to be involved in another remodel. I was having difficulty finding the kind of help that I was looking for at my new home. He then said that I should have talked to him earlier. The salesman shared with me a couple of contractors that are in the area of my new home and gave them great reviews. Mike at Empire Garage Door was one of them. I should also mention that I am a contractor myself and that I do the best that I can to leave things in much better condition than how I found them. I am also into detailed classic cars and bikes. My garage needs to be just as nice. So do the doors. Mike came out and met with me. Right off I sensed that they we were in tune. He listened. He shared. He showed me many options. He spent as much time as he needed to make sure that he understood exactly what I was looking for and then he went away to do the proposal. I received a proposal soon after. Oh boy, I think I might have expensive taste. It was higher than I wanted it to be but I had also picked 4 of the nicest doors available. Mike was not bothered by this. He mentioned that there were many other options. He showed me doors that were a level down from the ones that I had originally picked and also gave me the cost for them. That is the way that we went. The deposit was paid and now we wait for the doors to be built and delivered. Once the doors were ready, I received an email and a call from Mike. We scheduled the install. It took a few days to complete because there were 4 doors and 4 motors. I got to hang out, work beside, watch, chat, and have lunch with Mike. The entire time, the energy, professionalism, kind disposition, motivation, care, cleanliness, etcetera, stands out. And, it clearly is not a show. Mike cares about doing a good job. So much time was spent properly adjusting, cleaning, picking up behind himself, and all of those kind of things. When the project was complete, Mike walked me through everything and made sure that I understood how everything worked. It all went well. Even the small custom requests that I threw in because I plan on doing a cool ceiling in my garage and shop. Only 1 thing remains. One of the many windows arrived cracked. I am not worried about it. Another replacement is on the way and I know that it will be taken care of. I LOVE my new doors and openers. I will be doing a few more projects around here that will end up needing the same matching doors. I am already excited to have Empire Garage Door company back to do that project too! I can't say enough good stuff about them. CALL THESE GUYS WHEN YOU NEED A GARAGE DOOR FOR YOUR GARAGE OR SHOP. The only thing that you may find disappointing is that you may have to wait because your door may need to be custom made or they may be busy. Remember, you should have to wait a bit for the good guys! If they are not busy, they probably are not good. 7th new set of garage doors for me. Best experience yet!
