When researching various property management companies, Good Life's approach was the most straightforward and transparent with no long term commitments. After speaking with them multiple times with various questions, I was left with a feeling of assurance that I was in good hands. Being a first time landlord, I have no experience in knowing how to screen tenants, knowing the rules, etc., especially when my background is not in the real estate and rental business. Having a busy work schedule also means that I won't likely be able to attend to the tenant's needs in a timely manner. This is where Good Life fills in the gaps for me. The team at Good Life during the onboarding process has been super helpful and efficient in getting the property ready, whereas it would've taken me ages in trying to do it myself. I was assigned Andrei as my property manager and it's been a great start. He has been open, transparent, professional, and great to work with since the start. I recently had an online shopping shipment mis-delivered to my rental property, to which Andrei was instrumental in helping to coordinate the handoff between the tenant and me. Even though Andrei is my primary contact, I can see that they have great teamwork. On one weekend, I had a question to which I received an out-of-office note from him. But rest assured, another team member stepped in that day during his time off to help with my question. Good Life also has a great online portal for me to see all the documents and tax information. He is professional; providing me all relevant information without coloring it. He is responsive; never going more than 12 hours without responding to me even while on vacation. As he is an attorney as well, he is a one stop shop. Which means if you have issues with tenants, he knows the legalities and the options we have. He utilizes a maintenance team as needed and when selling a house he has a team that can stage your home. He works well independently and makes intelligent decisions, which was really, really important to me as I really wanted someone that I could depend on that wouldn't have to check in with me for every detail. Within a month after I moved to Virginia, he found me wonderful renters (at a great rental rate) that took care of my home and stayed the entire time I was renting. I did nothing, while every month the rent was regularly direct deposited into my account. Upon the decision to sell, again, he took care of all details so that I didn't have to spend a lot of time in the process. Once again, the house was sold within a month at the goal price that I had initially set (we started high and worked back down to my number). Matt set the bar high... Vendor oversight is non existent or worse, intentionally overlooked--allowing subpar work which then issues are left unresolved and as a result, requires work to be re-done which costs our community. Instead of acting in the best interest of our community, they appear to take direction from a corrupt board; leaving them unchecked and allowing for their decisions to compromise the HOA's integrity. Our community is left unmanaged and underserved --a serious disservice to residents they're paid to support.
