Richmond's Air - James and his crew after installing new unit!

    Richmond's Air

    (841 reviews)

Absolutely recommend!!!…read more I rarely do reviews that aren't restaurants but Richmond's Air was so great I think it's important that people know what the experience is like. First: Competitors I got several estimates - My home warranty's contractor, Home Depot/ARS, a friend's husband, and Richmond's Air. Richmond's Air was the most reasonable price among all estimates, even the friend! He also took less than 30 minutes to take a look and give me an estimate. Home Depot was here for hours and gave me a presentation and ultimately an unbelievably high price which they later slashed by $4k when I said I wouldn't choose them. Still too high, also weird that they were gonna charge $4k extra? Second: Communication/Punctuality James told me a reasonable window of time that the team would arrive and also when they'd complete the job. They gave me a call beforehand to let me know they were running a little late, regardless the job was done on time (same day). They replaced everything but my furnace. Finally: Service The team was friendly and explained anything I asked about and even helped me install my new thermostat. They put a drop cloth down from the front door to the AC and left minimal dust or mess. They also gave me the manuals for the equipment as well as told me about the 10 year warranty. This was all a month ago and my AC has been working perfectly since and air quality reads way cleaner than when I moved in. Dealing with a broken AC in Houston is horrible and I highly recommend reaching out to Richmond's Air instead of wasting time shopping for multiple other quotes. Maybe get one other one and compare, you'll see the difference. Price, service, and quality were great. Would definitely call again for my next home.

The representative was very helpful and quickly scheduled a technician to come out the same day at 12:00 PM, which I really appreciated. Tiffany Minnix actually arrived earlier than expected, which was a pleasant surprise. Tiffany was professional, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable and took the time to carefully inspect the unit, and made sure I understood the situation. Tiffany provided excellent service and made the entire process easy and stress-free. Tiffany professionalism, punctuality, and attention to detail truly stood out. It is rare to find technicians who are both skilled and customer-focused, and Tiffany delivered on both. I highly recommend Richmond's Air, and especially Tiffany Minnix, to anyone needing reliable and trustworthy HVAC service. Thank you for the outstanding experience.

Since I keep a regular bi annual check on my heater and a/c, Aire Serv are able to make sure that I keep things running the way they should. They go the extra mile and are vigilant about making sure I know what might be coming up if there's going to be a need down the road so I can plan for it. Great job Steve - so professional, knows his stuff and easy to work with. Thanks again.

Extremely disappointed with Aire Serv. I called them out for an A/C not cooling. They charged a $70…read moreservice call, which was communicated and I was fine with. What they don't tell you upfront is that the $70 gets you absolutely nothing of value. The technician came out, looked at the unit, confirmed it wasn't cooling (which I obviously already knew), and said it might be a leak. That'll be another $170 for a leak test, and then they'll come back again to give you a quote on repairs. So your $70 "service call" is just to have someone show up and state the obvious, with no diagnostics, no real troubleshooting -- just an upsell. Now you're at $240 before they've done anything to actually fix the problem. They are very deceptive and i would never call them out again and strongly suggest others stay away. There are honest HVAC companies out there, this is not one of them. You are left with the feeling that you just got scammed. Very dishonest company.

For years after Tom's installed our HVACs they had issues. Refilling freon every 3 months, pressure…read moreissues, leaks, etc. After more than a year of attempting to ascertain the derivation of the issues, we were advised to rip out the sheetrock from floor to ceiling (where the HVAC lines were located) in the hopes of figuring out a reason for the issues. What was found: 1. Our 5 ton mandated by manufacturer's instructions a 1-1/8" copper supply line. Tom's installed 1-1/8" from the condenser to just inside the outside wall of the house. Once inside the bottom of the wall - Tom's cut the 1-1/8" and crimped 7/8" copper from there up the wall for more than 16' into the attic - to a location just before it came through the floor to the unit in the attic. At that location, Tom's cut the copper again - and installed 1-1/8" to the attic units. So - 1-1/8" to just inside the wall, then 7/8" up the wall to the attic, then 1-1/8" from just inside the attic floor to the units. Had we not cut out a 2' wide x 10' high wall of sheetrock of our laundry room wall - we never would have known and would have continued to experience issues that were costing us thousands of dollars. The copper entry lines into both condensers were not only crimped to go from 7/8" in the wall to the proper 1-1/8" at the outside condensers, but the copper lines at the condensers were crimped together with trash pieces, i.e., 5-6 separate copper pieces less than 4-5" each were patched / crimped together. All of the above not only against manufacturer's instructions, but also against code with some of their deceit hidden inside walls. 2. The coils that Tom's installed for our home were KNOWINGLY recalled for coil leak issues. He installed them anyway. We ended up paying thousands to replace them less than 2 years after moving in. 3. Tom's piggybacked the electrical supply to the 4 ton condenser via the 5 ton condenser. 4. Tom's did not use protective grommets for the wiring - so you can see from the photos what occurred after mere months. Once we replaced the entire crimped/patched run of copper - uninterrupted from the outside condensers to the attic, installed a separate electrical supply for the 4 ton unit, installed grommets as well as replaced the coils - all issues ceased. Tens of thousands of dollars to fix/replace Tom's faulty work after paying Tom's almost $30,000. Pay to have an independent inspector (NOT a City inspector) check all of Tom's work. Better yet - don't use him.

That level of responsiveness and customer care is rare. Jesus was the technician who came out, and he was exceptional. He was extremely transparent and showed us the capacitor readings beforehand which it was at 0, confirming it was completely dead. After replacing it, he walked us through everything step by step to make sure it was done correctly. We're very picky about who we let work on our home, and Jesus was professional, patient, and thorough. We've owned multiple homes and dealt with our fair share of tradespeople, and H-Town AC & Plumbing is truly at the top. From Mark's quick response to Jesus's excellent workmanship, the entire experience was top-tier. Other companies should model their customer service after them. Highly recommend.

In marketing and advertising, construction and services, there is something called the unattainable…read moretriangle. It's the age old golden rule, you can either have it fast, cheap or good, but you can't have it all. "The triangle is a maxim that high-quality goods or services delivered quickly and efficiently to customers will always come at a higher price and vice versa." That is the cold, hard definition of the unattainable triangle. H-Town AC repair Air Conditioning and Heating seem to have attained the unattainable triangle. I wish I could type that in a bold font here. It is fall and time for our semi-annual furnace inspection from Absolute Comfort Air whom we had an annual service contract with. The technician arrived on time, began to inspect our furnace, shortly came down with the bad news. We had a unrepairable leaking gas valve, scorch marks on the control board, it was so bad he could not even run and test the unit. After all, the unit was 24 years old, parts would be hard to get but they could repair it for $1800 or replace it with a new high efficiency basic furnace for $4800. He even said that we were lucky not to have had a house fire scaring the begeezus out of my wife. I quickly went and yelp and got 4 bids from highly rated companies on Yelp. We almost instantaneously had 4 bids, three of which were significantly lower that the bid we had from the supposedly reputable Absolute Comfort Air. Enter, the heroes of the story, H-Town AC repair. They were the low bid literally saving us thousands (yes, thousands - plural) of our hard earned dollars on this project. This is part one of the unattainable triangle. They could arrive quickly and perform the work about 3-4 hours. As my wife runs a sensitive business from home this was very important. Part two of the triangle. Since we cannot have all three sides we were going to be doomed to a poor product, or so I thought. They arrived a bit late, however it was a cold rainy morning, traffic had been terrible. The technicians Elijah and another were well presented and professional. They laid down carpet covering, worked quickly and efficiently. Their first report was a shocker. Yes the unit was 24 years old, but there were no scorch marks on the control board and the gas valve was not leaking. The furnace ran fine and safely and apart from some rust on the heat exchanger should last us awhile. Elijah even showed us pictures of the suspect parts proving it. With the rust on the HE and the unit being aged we decided to replace it. Elijah and his team finished the job on time, doing some extra unit and site clean-up, on budget and voila, check mark on the third part of the unattainable triangle. In direct contrast to Absolute Comfort Air whom seem to lie to their customers and charge exorbitant amounts for their work, H-Town AC Repair is a fantastic, well run company whom I would highly recommend and will use again. I am cancelling my annual service contract with the other company and will be quickly running to Demitry, Andrew P, Mark, Elijah and the H-Town AC Repair team for a new annual service contract and all of my future HVAC work. Thank you H-Town, you guys are the best.
