ive been here a few times. ive purchased a few items. for a few females. and a few for myself. its fine. in my opinion, the place is the architectural equivalent of that video of the giraffe being born. you watch the whole thing. youre transfixed. you dont really enjoy it, but you dont hate it. you also have no idea why you spent 12 minutes watching a giraffe being born. all this being said, nothing will ever compare to the time i almost shit my pants on broadway...and prada -- yes, THAT prada --, saved me, my pants and my self-respect. for that reason -- 4 stars. story for a later time. read more

I love this store, it's very unique and modern. Prada shoes are surprisingly comfortable and great quality.

You get two stars only because your shoes are _____. It feels more like a museum, including the 'shush-ing' feeling. 10,000 square feet with a single, lonely rotating stiletto on a disco ball would be a good way of describing it. Brand-porn might be another. The building is interesting, like someone slipped some lithium to Frank Gerry and he all of a sudden became coherent. Do yourselves a favor, shop them at Century 21 and Overstock.com instead, and take the money you saved and go to The Hudson for cocktails, the building is better, and you won't get groped by girly-boy staff. read more

Huge fan of this store, its layout, location and the clothes and shoes are always must see. However late Tuesday afternoon (August 9th), I came in to look in the men's section. The customer service was atrocious. Four salesman were huddled at the far end of the shoe section, all laughing and conversing. I was in the store for at least 10 minutes, and not one of the salesman ever came to ask if I needed help or even broke away from their conversation with each other. Other customers were also left neglected. Truly sad customer service in a store where I would expect a higher standard. read more

I had a great experience here working with both Warren (purchasing a Saffiano tote) and with Raquel (almost purchasing a dress). Warren was incredibly helpful and patient as I took my time selecting a bag. He also helped me when I needed to exchange one day later when I realized an issue with the leather -- he was so friendly and laid-back -- it was a very low-pressure shopping experience. Raquel helped me while I was looking for a dress; she made sure I knew all about their complimentary alterations and put a dress on hold while I considered other options. Even though I purchased a dress from another store, Raquel sent me a friendly follow-up email. I love this location and will be back for more! read more

The devil wears prada indeed. Today I had the misfortune of going to Soho for my first prada experience. The sales associate's attitude discouraged me and my Boo (a prada enthusiast) to make a purchase due to her aloof, smug comments as if she was talking down to us. Although she kept a descent tone to her voice she made me feel unwelcomed and spoke as if she knew all things about the product we were interested in purchasing in a bitchy manner and like she was doing us a favor by talking to us as if we were a waste of her time. Lot's of balls for someone with a cheap plastic looking weave on their head. The store design was very nice. It looked like an indoor skateboarding rink and museum at the same time. If ever I buy prada I will do so online or another location. read more

Oh, wow.. you walk right in,there is this freshness in the air. As soon as you're in the store there is an assistant by the door waiting to help you. You look right,you look left everything so nice, so fab!! Those bags,those shoes..those CLOTHES.. it's a true experience.. spending a few minutes in the store you'll think that you are in a true paradise!! until.. you reach for the price tag. you look at it and you freeze.. it's horror.. you think ''this cant be true,this really cant be reality.5000$for a PRADA bag,but still..it isn't that expensive for Prada,maybe it s a good deal after all'' then you come back to reality think how much 5000$ is and you just walk straight out of the store.. still it's pretty nice. the first 10 minutes :D read more

It's Prada. It's beautiful and so is everything in it. Went in looking for specific Prada Linea Rossa ankle boots for Fall 2013 that I saw on Nordstrom.com. The staff was friendly however they said they only had the pull on for fall and not the side zip. Wrong, must be Nordstrom exclusive so I ordered them there. read more

This store is absolutely gorgeous. I love shopping here because everywhere I look there are beautiful bags, beautiful shoes, beautiful clothes, and beautiful architecture. There's really no other store like it. That being said, however, I like the Prada on 5th more. The sales people just can't be beat. They are super sweet and surprisingly knowledgeable about everything Prada (and pretty much all the men could be models). read more

Is there any point in writing a review of "Prada"? I have been in this stunning shop many times, as it is so beautiful. What I love about the place is the assistants are super polite even when you look poor. I often try on lots on things for fun. They had their end on season sales this december/january and I finally bought a lovely coat. I have been to many similar shops in Tokyo, Paris and London for 30 years and the staff here as as professional and friendly as any. Full marks for a great shopping experience. (If you ever get to Tokyo go to the Prada store their, the building is amazing.) read more

Worst return policy ever! I recently purchased something from Prada and it was a nightmare of an experience and the sales people were so unhelpful. I would not recommend purchasing from the store but rather going through a department store with a better return policy instead. At the end of the day you can same item at Nordstrom , same price , and fair return policy ! ( so you don't get to Parade around mall with a Prada bag ! ) Nordstroms ! read more

A lover of the brand I have numerous bags wallets and shoes. Years back I had a bag repaired through their store and they didn't fully do the job so they issued me a credit. Cut to recently when I have another bag that needs repair and I call to find out all store credits have been nullified (without notice). A nice man named Angel told me to come in and see him and we would work something out. I have the unfortunate experience of going in that Saturday during a PETA protest and am harassed at the door. Then I go in and ask for Angel and am told by a woman she is his supervisor how can she help. This woman turns out to be not only completely unhelpful and terrible customer service wise not caring about my previous credit but to make matters worse she stood and stared blankly at me like a wicked witch when the PETA protesters started blasting sounds of animals crying and howling in pain throughout the store and reflexively (also I'm 6 months pregnant) My eyes welled up with tears at the horrible painful sounds of the animals screaming and crying. Not a word not an apology from this cold woman. Nothing. Just the cost of the repair which should have been free with my credit anyway. The experience in the store that day has caused me not only to look badly at this ice queen woman but also at the brand who hired her to represent them. Horrendous customer service not to mention human being. A long time Prada fan no longer. read more

Okay, i like to call myself frugal but you know, I work too hard for my money. I live a simple life: go to work, walk my dog, spend time with my family, etc... So when I'm on vacation, I like to splurge so my husband and I go shopping at Prada wherever we vacation. We never shop at Prada in San Francisco even though its 20 mins away on BART for us back at home just because we just don't live that kind of lifestyle that allows us to buy Prada on a day-to-day basis. We like to save Prada spending sprees for special occasions. So when we went to NY and had 2 Prada stores to shop in, we thought we would be in proscuitto heaven. Wrong!! Although I must say the store is beautiful and you definitely can't go in there drunk and not expect to fall flat on your face. The entire store is an optical illusion. My husband received fabulous service from Eliseo who we just love. Not only was he helpful and friendly but he was attentive without being obtrusive which is the typical type of service we get from Prada. 5 stars for Eliseo. We spent a good 1 1/2 hours shopping in the store. Mostly for him. Since we recently dropped close to $2K in September in the Waikiki Prada store, I wasn't really looking to spend anymore in NYC, just looking. But because my husband was spending so much time shopping there I thought I would look for some basic skinny black pants that all the salesgals were wearing. The bottom floor was something out of high school or from the movie Mean Girls just swarming with bitchy saleswomen who were chatting in their little cliques and blocking aisles of clothes. It just felt very awkward walking through the store with them staring at you and talking away. At one point someone asked me if I needed help and I asked to try on some pants and I told her I normally wear a 4 or 6. I don't know if she knew that I had followed her towards the back stock room but I saw her whisper something to one of her colleagues. Maybe she was telling her something totally benign like, "Oh, what time do you get off today?" but I'm guessing she may have said something like "My god, she wears a 6!" like on The Devil Wears Prada when Anne Hathaway was made out to be the fat girl for wearing something other than a size 0. Anyway, as weird as that was, when I tried on a pair of pants that looked kind of cute, the hook closure puched out giving me a really ugly outie belly button. The salesgal assured me that they could move the hook closure over to prevent that from sticking out so much. I'm sorry but a pair of black pants that cost over $500 should look fabulous and shouldn't give you a total complex. Thanks Eliseo for great service and you totally deserve your commission. I'm not in sales so I don't know what kind of advice I can give about earning more money, but none of those gals downstairs can afford their rent if they keep treating customers the way they did to me. I wouldn't spend a penny in that store. read more

I bought a cream saffiano wallet clutch and decided to exchange it for a black one. So I brought it back to store, and when they exchanged it for me, they stamped my receipts as final sale. When I got home, there was no authenticity card inside and it also looked used (like someone used it and returned it). I compared it to the one my sister had and I believe mine is a knock off version. I called customer service many times and even followed their instructions as to emailing them pictures. It's been 2 months and still no reply... read more

I walked in the prada store and waited 5 minutes before I was given assistance. My intention was to purchase a pair of patent leather white sneakers. However to my disappointment there was only 4 selections available. I asked the female employee (African American, tall with glasses and a condescending attitude) did they have more options. She told me that they were discontinued. I was considering the regular leather white but I told her I preferred patent leather. She tried to downplay patent leather and its quality. I asked her "you think so?' She responds in a unattractively smug manner"I know so" Before I could make my decision She dismissed me to help another customer without returning to assist me. Whats also bad is that the value of the same sneakers that they claim are in process of being discontinued were inflated in price by nearly 200 dollars more than what I am used to paying for them (usually $380-$390). Usually when a store is discontinuing an item, the price will drop instead of rise. Prada has evidently lost its touch. Im glad I have eight pairs because they will soon have no more. read more

The service deserves zero stars if that could be a rating. The retail "sales" associate....notice his (EDDIE's) job position, is merely in retail sales (no offense towards all the great retail sales associates out there who doesn't act like him) and he acts so much above the customers who can afford to shop there. He was too lazy to call another branch to find out if they have a handbag that they didn't have in stock and expected the customer to do so. Customer service is important...who wants to give commission to an invalid? I wish that he would just do his job. read more

I dont care its over priced, I like their designs but I couldn't enjoy it. The customer service was horrible, I was ignored for 15 minutes and when i was able to finally get someone assistence, the lady snubbed me by briefly answering my questions and not helping me any further on when I can or order the product. Hubby loves Prada, so when we're in NY, we always pay a visit to this flagship store. As far as Prada boutiques go, they have great inventory, including lots of exclusive items that we don't see in other stores. This location is especially beautiful because it was the old MOMA. Their displays make you feel like you're at a Prada exhibit in a museum, rather than a boutique. It's certainly worth a visit if you love fashion. read more
