visited the Chanel Soho boutique regarding a pair of Chanel shoes that were gifted to me and had never been worn by me. I was requesting an exchange for a larger size. The store manager informed me that the shoes appeared worn and that an exchange could not be accommodated. I understand boutiques have policies, but what was most disappointing was how the situation was handled. The conversation took place in a way that felt uncomfortable and embarrassing in front of other employees and clients. For a luxury brand, I expected the matter to be handled with more privacy, professionalism, and care. My concern is not only the exchange decision, but the client experience surrounding it. I initially contacted Chanel Client Care in March in hopes of resolving the matter privately, but unfortunately I have still not received a resolution. I am sharing this because luxury service should feel respectful, discreet, and thoughtful -- especially when a client is simply asking for a fair review. read more

Pretty awful service with limited inventory. It's a temporary shop at 120 Wooster St around the corner. There was a short line outside (7 people ahead of me on a Saturday afternoon) - took about 10-15 min for me to get inside. The woman who greeted me and checked me in was very nice, and told me I could browse but it would be about 10 min before someone could help me. I found a scarf I wanted and just wanted to try it on but no one would let me just take it off the wall hook. I checked in repeatedly for an ETA and it wasn't until 30 min later someone came to offer me water and let me try the scarf. Didn't have much in terms of a bag selection on display either. Would much prefer to go to the location uptown. Probably won't be returning. read more

It is sometimes next to impossible to get a certain Chanel bag that you want. Nowadays, with the most recent price increase, Chanel bag prices are astronomical. You deserve to have what you want for your money: if you want a certain color and hardware, then you should not settle for what they have in store. My most recent experience here was very positive due to a wonderful associate: Sherry. I wanted a bag in black with gold hardware but they only had peach. What am I going to do with a peach bag? Black goes with everything and gold hardware just looks more expensive than silver. So I got Sherry's number and texted her. A month later, she texted me that she had the bag I wanted in stock. So much more efficient than calling the 800 number on the Chanel website! Another thing to keep in mind: if you don't want to wait in line outside, make an appointment with an SA or maybe even book an appointment online. Due to my appointment, I was able to be let in and browse to my heart's content and buy the bag while the same people were still waiting outside. Top handles: I'm glad they are making more bags with top handles. Now they should make the shoulder straps adjustable so we can wear the bags crossbody in the city. Very transactional, the SA I encountered at the temporary Wooster street location is soulless not even selling the experience it's very corporate and that's the problem with in store shopping in 2024. I just left Chanel store. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. The sales associate by name JOY was rude to me and told me that I need to get my personal assistant in rude way while I was just browsing the store. We had an amazing experience. We walked into the boutique looking like tourists and were greeted by at least 2 sales associated. The store was packed but, Cynthia greeted us and proceeded to show us every bag my wife wanted to see. Professional, courteous and pleasant. One of the bags my wife wanted was not in stock so, Cynthia arranged for the bag to be delivered from another store in Florida by expedited courier. Cynthia explained the size and function of every bag, white bags can get dirty, black bags are classic and also the special zippered pouch on the "Classic, Timeless" purse. I forgot my glasses at home so I headed over to CHANEL to pick up a new pair. For a Friday afternoon, the line was not too long and I got in within 15 minutes of standing in line. Once I walked in, I was asked what I needed assistance with and I informed them I was looking for glasses. An advisor was passing by on her way to lunch and stopped and took me over to the glasses. Ronnie was amazing! It was awesome that she took me before her lunch and her service and was over the top. Ronnie was approachable, fun and had great knowledge about everything CHANEL. She helped me decide on some really nice brown glasses. I really wanted the black ones but they only had the brown. I settled! When she came from the back she surprised me and found the black ones! It was so awesome that she took the time to look for me. Her service deserves to be acknowledged. While I normally don't get my CHANEL glasses directly from a CHANEL boutique ( usually get them from N.M.), I will use Ronnie in the future for all my needs. The last thing I would like to say is: Being a brown person, person of color, or any minority can often be challenging when shopping, I often get intimidated or worse- discriminated against just for shopping while being brown. It was incredibly horrible service. I am a long term loyal fan of Chanel ever since I was a young girl. I have several Chanel bags, wallet on chain and small leather goods. I went in because the last wallet I purchased had a flaw. The SA Sola was incredibly rude and wouldn't exchange it and said there wasn't anything she could do. She said it was over the 14 day mark even though the location was closed for 5 days for renovations! She was so cold with absolutely no compassion. Sadly, I was so turned off I won't be shopping here anymore even though it has been my favorite brand. So there's a line outside to get in...ok, but then your first interaction is with 2 of the most unattractive security personnel you can come into for a high end store (Caucasian) female. I am a big fan of Chanel. I always visit the store whenever I'm around the neighborhood. To my surprise, they had the black small Coco handle bag when I visited. I have always wanted it, so I was pretty determined to buy it. But the sales associate was very rude. When he saw I was still debating on the purchase, he told me I didn't exactly look excited when he brought it out, then I should think more about it and come back to see if I can find it in black again. It was his tone and his attitude that really offended me. I know it sounds silly of me to walk away from the small coco handle bag when I have finally found one, but to take that kind of rudeness from an associate who probably thought I had no money to buy one, I decided to save that $6600 in my bank. read more

This review is for one employee only, I came into the store and waited on a short line to get an assessment on my glasses that my significant other purchased for me for Valentine's day in 2020. The gentleman who helped me was very dismissive and quite rude! Soon as I pulled my glasses out the case I started explaining to him what was the issue, he immediately stated I needed to pay $75.00, he didn't ask me anything about the purchase. I bought couple bags and wallet in the past. But my last experience made me feel so mad. I was there with my husband to buy something but the sales person told me and my husband not to touch things. After that I don't want to go to the store anymore. Soho location is the worst. The sales people judge you how you look. Meanwhile I spent my money there before. Our CA, Julie Yoo, is so very patient and kind. You could tell right away that she wanted to try her best to look for something that fit my criteria.
