I am SO incredibly disappointed and upset with this doctor and office as a whole. I have been requesting two refills of vital medications for well over a week now and still have not gotten it sent to my pharmacy. One of the medications is for migraines, so as you can imagine, extremely important not to miss doses. The second one is even more important and can completely mess with your body chemistry if you are off it for too long. I have been without the second medication for at least 5 days. I am pretty sure it is already starting to f*** with my system and that is not helping matters.
Here's what has happened: I requested my pharmacy (Rite Aid) to fax Dr. Khalsa's office for a refill as soon as I was able to with my new insurance (which was almost two weeks ago). That was sent. I didn't get a response/renewal for 4 days. I contacted the doctor's office and asked if they received the fax(es)- this question was ignored and honestly, through my experiences, I am not sure they even have a fax machine that they regularly check. The person I spoke with noted the medications I needed refilled and told me she would get the request to Dr. Khalsa. After I mentioned how important these meds were and that I was getting close to empty, she said, "Well, there are a lot of requests in front of you." Okay, I let this slide and thought that's fine, I have a few more days I can go before I need this.
Jump to FOUR DAYS LATER, and I still don't have a refill, so I call Dr. Khalsa's office back regarding my refills. I am told, fairly rudely, "your request was going to be filled by the end of the week or next week." Excuse me?? Can someone explain to me why it would take so long for this to be reviewed by the doctor when I am a current patient of his and have been using these meds for years, one of which for 15+. Not to mention when I called the first time, it would have been nice to get this heads up instead of just telling me, "there are a lot of requests in front of you." Nonetheless, this completely rude person on the phone shows NO empathy whatsoever for the fact that I am about to be without some important medications for a few days in the least, nor does she even come close to acting like she might try just a little bit to make sure it gets filled in a timely fashion. She tells me, "we might be able to get it tomorrow." Tomorrow is a Friday so I explain to her, "please can you make sure it gets sent by tomorrow or else I am going to go an extra 3 days without my medication because of the weekend." No guarantees were given and definitely no show of extra effort by the person on the phone.
