Jennifer is super kind, friendly, approachable, and knowledgeable. When I had my newborn, I'd come to her weekly support group to get tips of latching, feeding, and all other baby related questions. You're able to do weighed feeds (weighing baby before and after breastfeeding) to see how much they took in. Jennifer also can help assess latch, and many moms book lactation consultant appointments with her to get 1:1 help. It was also really nice meeting new moms who had babies similar in age to mine. I was able to find my mom group through here, and now we meet up to do walks and park hangs. It's really nice that this group is offered to the community and I've found it extremely valuable for my mental health to be connected through this group. Why is it that his medical record has not been updated for more than a decade? Even in third world countries, the health care providers are the ones updating the patient records - no one expects the patients to maintain health records. I mean, sure if the patients transfers from another institution, but my dad has been with them for more than 10 years. This is ridiculous. I always have to add that the individual doctors are mostly fine, but the way they organize things is shameful for the Bay Area.

I've been seeing doctor Smita Thakkar for 4 years and I am very happy with her service! I am an…read moreadult suffering from major depression and anxiety. I have other medical issues that complicate my mental and physical health. Dr Thakkar has worked closely with my other medical doctors to find the right treatment for me. I see her every 3-4 months for a medication review. Even though it should be a quick 15 min appointment, she always takes the time to ask about my mental and physical health, she's asks about my kids and my marriage. She really performs a role for me that a regular therapist would perform. My only complaint is that I require a medication that is tightly controlled by the state of California. It requires a new prescription every month. So instead of driving to the office to pick up a new prescription, the doctor mails me a prescription every month. I found out she could be sending the prescription electronically to the pharmacist, but she doesn't and I don't know why. I will ask next time I see her. As for the office staff, I usually get return phone calls that day if in the office. I use the service to request refills and my messages always get to the doctor. It's a bit of a pain to need a new prescription each month but I guess that's what the state requires. Overall I am very satisfied with Dr Thakkar. Btw, I've been on psychiatric medication and have seen a psychiatrist for over 20 years. I've probably seen 5 or 6 psychiatrist, and she ranks as one of the better doctors I have seen.
