Gave this place a try as I was in the city visiting family and it was close to my folks' place…read more Brought them with me. Parking lot looks like it stays full but we got in and there were a couple of tables with people and a lot of people waiting for to go. This was around 6pm. Steady stream of people coming in for pick up orders so someone likes it. Good sign lol So the food is seafood boils or Chinese. Didnt feel like getting messy so went with the Chinese side. We all did. Now a lot of people like to judge any Chinese food against the backdrop of "is it Chinese kitchen?". And we are no different lol but having lived away from the city for a long time and finding nothing is Chinese kitchen, you adjust your scale. And this place was fine. I had the four seasons, moms had the shrimp and broccoli and pops had the shrimp lo mein. We all enjoyed. We also ordered a combo fried rice to share. Also fine. Now the egg rolls, again, judging against the one of a kind, they were fine. They at least had shrimp in them. So better than nothing. I would not have a problem eating here again. Also that sweet tea will give you diabetes. I had three glasses lol Our server was attentive. Answered questions. Checked on is frequent. Give em a shot

East Harbor is a newer restaurant, but I'm already obsessed! I'm ashamed to say how many times…read morewe've been there already since we discovered it. If you love seafood boils, you have to come by to try this place out! They have boiled seafood very similar to the kind that's served at Big EZ Seafood and Oyster in Kenner, but they also have regular Americanized Chinese food if you're in the mood for some Chinese takeout. I love their Chinese takeout food too, but the bags of boiled seafood are really the appeal here. Their portions are large and generous, their prices low and cheap, the quality of food is high, and everything is delicious. The boiled seafood here is a little bit different than the truly New Orleanian style of boil you might be used to eating. You can choose the type of seasonings you want (Cajun, spicy seafood, garlic butter, lemon pepper, or a combination of multiple),and you can choose your spice/heat level (mild to extra hot) too. I love the customization! Their seafood "combos" are a fantastic deal. For example, for just $20, you get 1lb of shrimp, corn, potatoes, and sausage slices. This is my favorite go-to item here for sure. Because it's messy, if you're eating there, they provide you with disposable gloves and a wet wipe, which we all welcome lol Their Chinese takeout is great too and always comes with generous portions. One thing to note is that the takeout items tend to be a little low on salt for my tastes, but that's an easy fix with a salt shaker. I think it's a good thing especially for people who might have dietary restrictions on their sodium intake. Remember, it's easy to add salt to a dish, but nearly impossible to remove it! All in all, East Harbor is a 5-star, must-try, go-to-favorite restaurant! ESPECIALLY for their boiled seafood!!

I do not, but I do enjoy their grilled chicken po-boy. Other fan favorites are the shrimp Poboy, the softshell crab Poboy and the gumbo. The red beans and rice are the some of the best in the city! They have a wide drink selection, including local beer. They do not take reservations and you line up outside to wait for a table. The staff outside keeps the line organized and moving and we never have to wait for very long. It is cozy inside with the tables close together so they can maximize the seating capacity, red and white tablecloths and just a really fun atmosphere.

Had to wait in line to get in for less than five minutes with two groups ahead of us. By the time we left at 5:30 there was a line of maybe five to seven parties. Regardless, I think people rotate out of here pretty quickly so I don't think you should fret too much if the line has built up. A lively restaurant with a lot of neon, decor, and tv screens. The service is reasonably fast and polite. Got the 1/2 Dozen oysters ($18 or $3 per) which were yummy. I'd recommend the Boom Boom Shrimp for sharing. This place gets my stamp of approval!

The gumbo is magic and according to my daughter AND hubs, the best in New Orleans. They've been looking for a good one since Avery's shut down. We also ordered 2 chicken strip poboys. Believe me when I say they were perfect. Fully dressed with THE FRESHEST ingredients. The bread was the bomb, lettuce crispy, tomato must've been vine ripened and the pickles were to die for. Lol. The hostess/server/cook, was very sweet, quick and knows her stuff.

Every time I come here, the ambiance feels like visiting family. We joke, laugh, & talk like we've known each other forever, & that's something you can't fake. Broadview has been in the community so long it's honestly part of the culture. They even packed my crawfish securely in a box & brought it out to the car because a fresh batch had just finished boiling & needed to soak. That level of service says everything & of course, I grabbed a cold Big Shot Pineapple to go with it & babae, I was in heaven.

The food here has drastically improved since my last visit years ago. Their turtle soup is amazing…read morewith huge chunks of turtle in it larger than any other turtle soup I have ever eaten. The BBQ shrimp poboy has really stepped up and now is much bigger with a LOT more shrimp than the last time Iate it. The "Breathtaking Beef" poboy has also drastically improved from my last sampling of it although it could still use more horseradish and some Creole mustard added to it. Speaking of Creole mustard that is the only thing that fell flat on my three visits I made over the past couple of weeks as all three times when I requested Creole mustard on my po boys and on my cheeseburger it was never applied so I had to make another request to find some mustard. The crawfish etouffee is also quite nice while the burger is really large and the fries that are served with it are nice as well. The garlic oyster poboy and the Reuben are also nice sandwiches you should try at some point. The seafood platters and shrimp remoulade are also good and they have a decent choice of daily specials. The ambiance of this place is the biggest cool factor here as it is a complete and total classic New Orleans dive with lots of character and characters that can be seen here.
