I ordered three falafels. They were delicious. I shared with Omar that the falafels would be great served a green salad and pita bread. Even with just the dipping sauce the falafels are worth try. My friend ordered a gluten free Belgian waffle. It is not on the menu. She ask if Omar could have the kitchen make the waffle with her gluten free waffle mix that she brought.. He was gracious enough to make the waffle. Their kitchen is not set up for gluten free and my friend does gluten free as a dietary option not because it is a medical necessity. My husband always ordered their Belgian waffles. It is my husband's regular order As a side, he orders a bowl of fruit. New item: You can get a bowl of grits. I asked if the grits could be ordered eggs overeasy and a side of bacon as a side. Another woman mentioned she would order it as a porridge with strawberries. Glad to see new items on the menu.

Lighthouse Cafe has a great corner space in downtown, that's clean, spacious and offers reasonable prices on their simple and comforting dishes. I ordered a basic Healthy Scramble (egg whites, veggies, topped with avocado) and appreciated the option of getting a pancake in lieu of toast. Nice staff, who was very attentive and the lighthouse themed decor was fun. It's a bit out of the way to drive here on a regular basis but I'll come back.

We sat in the back and it was really cozy. There were upholstered chairs around small tables, more like a club than a coffee shop; I loved it! The front area is brighter and sleeker than the back; more like what I'm used to in a coffee shop. The pastries in the display case looked wonderful, but since we were going to lunch, none of us ordered anything other than coffee. I had a small cappuchino and I think others got cappuchinos as well, another small and two mediums. The small was $5 and the mediums were $6. The baristas were friendly and welcoming and made a great cappuchino. Highly recommend!

First time, staff was friendly and my cappuccino was good. Not great, but good. The Place was crowded, but not terrible. However, most people were on their laptops "working". Second time, place is packed and almost everyone is on their laptop "working". Feels like a wework cafe. Staff? Seemingly bored and not thrilled about my order. I asked for an espresso with a significant amount of steamed milk and foam. What I got? A dribble barley filling the bottom of the cup (which was to go, and I ordered to stay). Finally, they don't take cash. Cash is king. Would I go back? Nope. I don't know Walnut Creek very well but assuredly, there's other places that are more suitable for me.

The place looks really nice now--such a pleasant spot to sit, enjoy your treats, and relax, especially with kids. The ice cream is always delicious, and we absolutely love their affogato. I was also amazed that they go by cups--we got a lot for the large cups, which felt like great value! I did want to share a small piece of feedback about our recent visit. In the past, water was available in small jars, but now it's set up in a larger dispenser. After ordering ice cream, we went to grab some water, but it had run out. I let the staff member in front know, and she kindly explained that they were out, which I completely understood. However, another staff member suddenly commented that there was no water and that if I wanted some, I should buy and pay for it. It was a bit surprising--not because of the policy, but because of the tone, which came across as a bit harsh. Maybe she was just having a bad day, which I can understand, but the delivery didn't feel very welcoming. I want to emphasize that I have no issue paying for water at all; in fact, I planned to go back to the car after ice cream to get water since we parked nearby. It was just the way it was said that didn't sit well. I didn't say anything at the moment since I understand everyone can have off days, but I do think consistency in how customers are spoken to is important--others might not take that tone as lightly. When I sat down, another staff member came over and offered my family water. If you happen to read this--thank you. Your kindness really meant a lot to us. Overall, we still enjoy coming here for the great ice cream, generous portions, and the cozy atmosphere. Sharing this as feedback because we enjoy this place and would love to keep having great experiences here.

Love that area because the couches are comfy and my toddler is contained and can't escape lol. I'm obsessed with their cookie dough, dulce de leche & cookie monster ice cream!! I can't get enough. Their iced coffees & ham/cheese croissants are delish too! They really are a one stop shop specially when you have guests in town. The people working there are so sweet too!! When they see me juggling things with my toddler or taking too long to grab my food, they bring it over or let me know it's ready.

I don't say that lightly. I'll start with Arabic light roast coffee that was a golden color and infused with cardamom. It was exactly what I was looking for that day. It tasted great, and it gave me to pick me up. I needed for the rest of the afternoon. I have never seen coffee that color. It was delightful. As for the fatayer, it is basically the Yemeni version of an empanada. I am very much a savory breakfast person, so this was a special treat. The spices were amazing, and it was cooked to perfection. This is one of the items you can see in the display case that they warm up for you on the spot. There were also many desserts and other food options. I should also note that I ordered on a large tablet display, which included several different drink, and food options. Honestly, the menu was a little bit overwhelming given the number of choices, but it also makes me think that there is so much more that I need to try next time. I needed to get some work done, so I sa myself down on the very comfortable couch, which conveniently contained a Wi-Fi password stuck to the edge of the adjacent table. It was very chill, and if I didn't have an appointment to get you I certainly could've stayed there all day. I am excited to try some other things on the menu and continue to support this local business.
