The bar room was offered and based on our experience of a live band or good music we chose of our area. Unfortunately, the service ( if there was any) was non existent . We sat there for more than 10 minutes. No one asked us a question. Came to check on us or anything. They watched us. Do you have a food return to the dining room with menus and hand and no one attempted to see what was going on There were only two other couples sitting in the room. It was almost empty. We wound up moving back to the dining area because we plan to have tea and coffee. Once we or seated in the main dining area, the service was stellar. They checked on its regularly. We got water immediately. They took our order within 3 to 5 minutes that continue to check on us throughout the meal refilled our beverages. It is regularly crowded there the beautiful world that room is covered by direct sunlight from the windows that show you the waterfront there's plenty of seating, the music is loud enough to enjoy but low enough to have conversation and enjoy your meal simply perfect I got my favorite the crab sand, which is at market price and delicious. My husband had a jumbo shrimp scrambled that comes with bacon and avocado, and it was delicious. I adore this restaurant and I really enjoy the fact that they've started covering the outdoor patio area so you don't have direct Son. It's a perfect place to enjoy a good Saturday or Sunday brunch with friends and family. It's always have fun. How am full of live with people enjoying their meal Except to spam $50-$75 a person depending on what you choose to eat from the menu and what type of beverage you have and that only includes one beverage Your average brunch scramble or omelette runs about 30 bucks. Anything seafood will be 40 bucks plus coffee and $3.75 and refillable which I love and I can't really show you the cost of a cocktail. It's been a minute.

Attention to detail seems to be lacking, especially with to-go orders, so be sure to check your bag before you leave. My French toast breakfast was missing the French toast, and they also forgot most of the condiments. To make matters worse, no one answers the phone, making it impossible to get the issue resolved. In this economy, when you spend more than $200 on breakfast for your family, you expect better service, better food quality, and an order that's complete. Unfortunately, this experience did not match the quality I expected.

For their prices and beautiful ambiance, I would expect better. Fast forward to Mother's Day. (Late review I know) My mother wanted to go here for an early dinner. I wasn't happy about her choice, but hey, it's her day. After arriving with my wife we were promptly seated. My mother ordered the salmon, my step-dad ordered I forget what, and my wife and I ordered the ribeye steak. My wife and I had ordered the ribeye there before. The previous times the steaks were bland. This time though, wow! The food was super delicious! Now to the service. Keonna. Keonna kept looking at my mother. Not in a weird way, but in a I think I know you from somewhere way. Finally she told my mom she reminded her of her grandmother and told my mother she was beautiful. That made my mother smile. Keonna was also super attentive and on top of everything. Thank you, Keonna. You helped make my mom's day that much better. This experience, especially the food and Keonna, definitely ensures that we will be back.

What we got was delicious food, piping hot coffee, and two absolute gems: Becky and Tammy. Let's start with Becky. She kept the coffee flowing and somehow made every refill feel like a visit from a friend. She is genuinely one of the sweetest people you'll meet, and we loved chatting with her throughout our breakfast. Now Tammy... this woman is a rock star. She went out of her way to tell us about the specials, checked on us often, and made sure we were happy with everything. You can tell she truly cares about her customers and takes pride in making everyone's experience a great one. And the food? So good! The O'Brien potatoes deserve their own fan club. Crispy, flavorful, and downright addictive. We cleaned our plates and seriously considered ordering more potatoes just because. It's places like this that keep people coming back. Not just for the food, but for the feeling. Great coffee, delicious breakfast, and staff who treat you like they've known you forever. Needless to say, we'll be back. And next time, we're bringing an even bigger appetite for those potatoes!

The tea sandwiches were delightful as well - soft, creamy, and savory - paring well with the tea. The desserts especially the homemade Nutella-cherry jam cake and homemade petite four were delicious. Everything paired well with tea and I left the tearoom full and satisfied. I want to add the food and tea were more positively memorable for me compared to other tearooms that I went to in the city - the food tasted way better to me at the Hen and Drake Modern Tearoom. The service was excellent as well. Chef Erin came out to greet us and asked how our experience has been, kindly asking for feedback to improve on and explaining all the details/thought put into the tearoom. The staff were friendly and very professional. I will be returning for sure.

Had a great experience at The Hen and Drake…read more My spouse and I came around noon on a Friday holiday without a reservation and they were able to accommodate us. It's a small but gorgeous tearoom that seats about 26ish people total. We opted for their cream tea option which is a personal pot of tea and 2 scones per person. My spouse is a pretty picky so unfortunately they dislike most tea sandwiches but loves scones so it's the perfect option for us. We also grabbed a couple counter desserts to try. My spouse got the blueberry darjeeling and I got the rose chai. Both were delicious but we liked the blueberry better if we had to pick one. We got a strawberry eclaire and a duck egg creme brulee as our counter desserts. The creme brulee was to die for and we found out that duck eggs were from the owners personal ducks do they agree as fresh and healthy as you can get knowing exactly what the ducks are fed. They had actually run out of scones when we got there and were very apologetic and transparent on the bake time needed. They offered to remove the scones from our bill if we didn't want to wait but we gladly waited and enjoyed our desserts first. The scones came out maybe 5 minutes after we finished the desserts and they checked in with us again. They were fresh out of the oven and served with faux Devonshire cream and a housemade cherry compote from local cherries. They were well worth the wait. If I had any suggestions it would be to make a reservation option for cream tea on their website as I totally would have made a reservation but it only had the option for afternoon tea reservations.

Our calamari sat for a while as it was cold. It also didn't help that the server walked right by our table with the calamari in her hand, all the way to the other end of the restaurant and then back and put it on our table. Made zero sense. 4. Most importantly, if they can't remember every detail of an order by trying to memorize it, have them write it down!! Period. This is a skill not everyone possesses. We will definitely be back as the food was pretty good. But I hate spending $120 for dinner in basically a sports bar, get mediocre Service and they expect a 20% tip. (Which I still gave) This was just a few of the things we dealt with. It wasn't really crowded so do like other restaurants. Make sure the item is tagged for the right table and anybody can bring it out. It doesn't have to be the server as I know they're attending to other tables.

The morning atmosphere has that classic neighborhood warmth to it--no rush, no fuss--just comfort food done the way it's meant to be. From the moment we sat down, everything felt familiar in the best way, like our past and present got to meet right at the breakfast table. Our food was just... exactly right. The flavors were satisfying and full, the portions were the kind that make you feel taken care of, and the whole meal tasted like it was made with care instead of shortcuts. It's the type of breakfast that doesn't try too hard, but still delivers. Even after all this time away, **it was still excellent**, which is honestly the biggest compliment I can give. What made the visit extra special was the nostalgia. We weren't just eating breakfast--we were remembering why we loved coming here in the first place. It brought back that feeling of earlier mornings, earlier routines, and time spent together without even realizing how much we'd missed it. Coming back after so long made the experience feel bigger than a meal. **Bottom line:** If you're looking for a breakfast spot that's reliably delicious and also has that comforting, "we've been here before" feeling, **Sylvia's in Antioch** is absolutely worth a return visit--even if it's been years like it was for us.
