Sal and team bullet proofed my truck and added a CST tuner. I can't believe how great my truck is running. Thanks again Sal!

It's been six month since I had my truck repaired at PowerStroke Solutions. I had the EGR cooler go out. Sal and team did a great job working on my truck. They replaced they EGR cooler for a bullet proof also replaced the oil cooler on top of setting me up with a live wire SCT tuner. I can't believe how great my truck is running now. Thanks again Sal!

Jesse knows the Powerstroke engine. If yours has a problem, he has your solution. That would be cheeky if Jesse hadn't just saved me $18000.

I had a long running ghost in the machine issue with my 2018 Prius C affecting a bunch of electrical systems. The rearview camera would get static, or wouldn't turn on at all but the audio source controls on the same display would sometimes work when the rearview camera didn't. Other times neither would work and still other times both would work perfectly. Sometimes the car wouldn't shift into reverse or drive on the first try, but other times it would shift into gear right away. My regular shop didn't handle electrical issues and the electrical place the recommended didn't service EVs, and the dealership wanted to keep the car for hours. So, I brought the car to Maras at EV Car Repair - he made time for me before he left on vacation and he diagnosed and fixed everything quickly while I waited for $80 + the cost of the part. They also work really late which makes getting your car fixed even easier. He was open until midnight the day I went so I didn't have to rush back after my trip to AutoZone. I cannot recommend them enough!

Buyer paid for a pre purchase inspection and the mechanic tried to sell her his own cars instead…read more This was one of the most unprofessional experiences I've ever had with a mechanic. We brought our Prius here so the potential buyer could pay for a pre purchase mechanical inspection and hybrid battery inspection. The results were actually very positive. The mechanic confirmed the car was in excellent condition and that the hybrid battery was in great shape. For context, our asking price for the vehicle was below the recommended Kelley Blue Book value, which is the standard reference most people use when pricing used vehicles. However, instead of sticking to the inspection we paid for, the mechanic (a tall, very thin man working there) inserted himself into the price negotiation between us and the buyer. He asked what we were selling the car for and then told the buyer we were "way overcharging" and that he could find the same car for a third of the price. He even made the ridiculous claim that for the price of our Prius you could buy a Tesla Model 3, which is simply not accurate for comparable vehicles and only added confusion for the buyer. That is completely inappropriate. We paid for a professional inspection, not for him to sabotage a private sale. What made this even worse is that after undermining the sale, he began promoting vehicles from his own shop to the buyer. At that point it became obvious there was a serious conflict of interest. The same person being paid to inspect our vehicle was actively steering the buyer away from it and toward cars he had available. The shop itself also had numerous partially disassembled vehicles and EVs scattered throughout the property, which only made the situation feel even more questionable given what had just happened. Because of his interference, the buyer became nervous and ultimately backed out of the purchase. A mechanic's job during a pre purchase inspection is simple: report on the condition of the vehicle. It is not their role to interfere in negotiations or push their own vehicles on the buyer. If you are considering bringing a vehicle here for a pre purchase inspection, be aware of this behavior. What should have been a neutral inspection turned into a mechanic actively interfering with a private sale for his own benefit. I would strongly recommend going somewhere else.

They responded quickly, were courteous, and didn't try to tack on a diagnostic fee just to take a look. When I dropped off the car, the technician walked me through their process, starting with the bulbs before moving into any potential electrical issues (which I really appreciated.) It ended up being the simplest fix: both bulbs were burned out. They had everything replaced within a few hours. Fair pricing, clear communication, and no upselling. I'll definitely be back for future repairs. Side note- they have the cutest shop kitten. ‍

They said they could and gave me a timeline for working on the vehicle that matched my needs. While I appreciate them getting me in on short notice, they consistently over-promised and under-delivered on when they would be able to work on my vehicle. They were able to diagnose a couple of leaks that they thought were the problem and sent me photos to show me what they were looking at. In the past when I've left my car at this shop for work they sent over a detailed estimate before starting the work, but this time I only received the verbal estimate over the phone. I drive an old car, which isn't worth much, and I did let the person know that I wasn't interested in investing more in repairs than the vehicle is worth. As it was, the two leaks were just over $1K to fix, and I OK'd the work to begin. After fixing the first two leaks, they then came back and told me there was a third leak, which would require a more major repair to the transmission and they would have to have their transmission person (who wasn't there that weekend) send me an estimate the next day. While I understand that it's plausible that the third leak wasn't something they could have originally diagnosed, it felt a bit weird that the photo they used to show me the leak was one of the original photos they had sent before starting any work. If the leak was visible in that photo, I'm unclear why they couldn't have diagnosed it earlier. The added cost of this additional repair definitely tips the scales of worth-it/not-worth-it to repair vs replace this car, so I wish I had had all the information before deciding to make the initial repairs. Unfortunately, despite stabilizing the ATF level, fixing the leaks did not resolve the transmission issue. On a smaller scale, they didn't check or top up the tire pressure, which most mechanics I've gone to have done as a courtesy when working on my vehicle. The day after I picked up my car the tire pressure light went on, and when I checked my tires all four of them had low pressure. It's a small thing, but especially when dealing with expensive mechanical items like cars, the small things matter a lot in creating a sense of security and trust with your mechanic. They did mention that they were under new management since the last time I had been in, which may account for the different experiences.

Hubby said that Big O Tires is the one who services our tires and that's where we pointed our compass. Upon arrival, Adam, the manager at Big O Tires was professional and stated that he could repair the tire and in no time flat (pun intentionally intended) he was on the tire, handled the Bizness and off we rolled to our next venture! I came in at 3pm and he told me it will take three hours to change my tire because they were fully booked when as you can see in the photos there's only four of us and two came after me. As I asked for the price he gave me three different prices and he asked me to sign the receipt with no questions asked. I asked him what was on the receipt and he told me I can take my business somewhere else if I have so many questions for him. I asked the other staff member for advice and she told me she has nothing to say because he's the boss. So I agreed to sign and continue business with him and he told me not to look at him, I was so baffled. I had to keep my mouth closed because I needed the service because I couldn't drive my car anymore. He had no compassion and was using his authority to intimidate me, telling me not to look at him while we're having a conversation. If I wasn't desperate for service I would and never will do any business with this company let alone this location.. I'm highly disappointed on the service I've felt with today.

Roxanne greeted me kindly and informed me that I would need to return later for Allen to inspect the RV. I provided her with the make and model of my RV and asked for a general price range for the services. About an hour later, Roxanne called back and said I would need to bring in the RV and leave it overnight for a $200 inspection. I explained that I am a full-time RV'er, and she scheduled me for an 8 AM appointment the next day. I agreed. Shortly after, Allen called me and said he could only provide an estimate after inspecting the vehicle. While I understood his approach, I simply asked if he could provide a general pricing structure for those specific replacements. His response? "Are you stupid?!" I was shocked by the unprofessionalism. I calmly replied, "Excuse me, sir, please show some respect. I haven't disrespected you; I am just asking for your standard pricing for this service." He then yelled, "You don't tell me how to run my business!" At that point, I decided to take my business elsewhere. If this is how he treats potential customers, I can only imagine the level of care and respect given to their vehicles. To inform others, I've attached the phone conversation as proof. After checking their Google reviews--where they hold a 3-star rating--I realized I should have done my research beforehand. To any future customers, I highly recommend checking reviews and researching businesses before entrusting them with your vehicle.
