We visited powerline with friends on May 24th, hoping to find a nice spot to sit and catch up. The lines were long (it was a busy day!) but our drinks and food came out fairly quickly. The seating area is nice, and the shop itself is in a great downtown location. My earl grey with lavender, iced, was the color of milk sadly, and didn't have a tea flavor despite a tea bag hanging in the cup. Perhaps not steeped long enough before adding the milk? The coffee was bland and not as described, based on my friends' reviews. However, about 10 hours later my husband developed a violent case of food poisoning. For 5 hours he was violently ill to the point that I feared for his life and contemplated calling 911 before he slightly improved enough to sleep. His digestive tract was so irritated that he was passing blood. Our group was together all day and ate the same foods for breakfast, lunch, and dinner except for the one sandwich my husband got (a bacon, chicken, and ranch panini.) The panini style sandwich was not fully hot, and came with a slice of cheese that wasn't melted. I'm not sure the temps were safe for serving. My sandwich had bacon in it, so it must not have been that. I HATE leaving bad reviews for small businesses, as a business owner myself. But as I watched how ill my husband was, I imagined children or older people getting ill and felt extremely concerned. I called the coffee shop to let them know the day after, but did not receive a call back or acknowledgement of the message being received. It's now been over a week and still no word from the coffee shop. I wasn't expecting a refund, but I did think the owner might at least call back. I sadly cannot recommend the foods at the coffee shop, and would feel extremely concerned ordering a sandwich there, or anything with dairy or meat in it. read more

Exceptional customer service, great food, great coffee. And they're open on Sundays! I ordered a hot vanilla latte with almond milk and the coffee tasted great but it was served lukewarm. I still enjoyed it and went inside to order another one but asked if they could make it hotter. The person working the counter was apologetic and said my next coffee was on them- I was really appreciative of the great customer service. Definitely will go back when visiting the downtown Baraboo area. read more

Coffee and espresso lovers this is a hidden gem in downtown Baraboo! The Barista had a great attitude and great recommendations based on what you wanted to try. The strawberry expresso way great along with an Americano. They have breakfast sandwiches and we tried the sausage, egg, and cheese on a croissant. We also tried the bacon, egg, and cheese on croissant and both breakfast sandwiches didn't disappoint. We wanted to try the cold bread but unfortunately they were out, maybe we will catch them next time. read more

Powerline Coffee Co is a new coffee shop to downtown Baraboo, that has taken the place of the former Nautical Coffee this summer! The shop has maintained a lot of the features/furniture/ordering system of the former business but has flipped to a unique industrial vibe with its darker paint and edgy decor. My husband and I headed over the check it out; they had some live music and a nice bustle for a Saturday morning. We shared a cappuccino and an iced mocha. As for the flavors for our first stop in; they weren't noticeable in the mocha and came off a bit bland. The cappuccino had a nice body to it, but it also came out warm and it was pretty hard to taste the shots of espresso, overpowered a bit by the milk and foam. The pros? Smooth ordering, nice menu and the barista had nice demeanor amongst the busy room. We didn't get a chance to eat anything but the baked goods looked fresh. Very clean. My husband considered it a bad experience but I think it was okay and worth hitting up again! I'll update my review when there's a tastier experience. They're the new kids on the block and should be visited by the community to try. The ambiance was definitely different from any downtown business and a nice touch.
