The food and beer selections are amazing! We didn't know anything about this place until we saw it as we were heading into Devils Lake State Park. We are glad we came back for dinner. One of the best rauchbiers I've ever had. The Cabana Dreams was a perfectly balanced blend of jalapeño tamarind and mango. Oh yeah, the food is good too.
This place was packed Friday night when we drove by and Saturday night when we came to eat. We were told the wait would be around 30 minutes, but it ended up being only 5, which was great. The restaurant is huge with tons of outdoor seating. There's also two full bars, one inside the restaurant, and one near the outdoor area where they brew the beer. There was also live music, which I'm guessing happens pretty often. Everything on the menu looked really good. I had the bison meatloaf with vegetables and the salted watermelon drink. The meatloaf was tasty but should have had more gravy. And the vegetables were cooked perfectly but needed seasoning. The drink was also solid but a bit sweet for me. Overall, a great place to spend dinner and socialize.
It was a gorgeous evening to sit outside, enjoy delicious food and good music. We started out with drinks a Champagne cosmo and Devil's Doorway and Crispy Brussels sprout chips. All of it was absolutely wonderful! We split the bison meatloaf meal and oh my goodness so so good! Never had bison before and I would definitely have that again. I could have eaten more of the carrots and snap peas and if I ever go back I would definitely ask for extra and pay willingly for them! Ordered another drink called French Kiss and it was really good too. Service was pretty good...our server was very sweet and attentive at the beginning but when she brought us the ticket she kind of disappeared so we had to go to the front desk to figure out how to pay. Overall highly recommend!!
Spent the weekend in Wisconsin camping in below freezing temperatures. Best way to recover from the cold is a hot cup of cocoa right? Nah. Give me beer. Drove past this brewery and immediately had to turn around and check it out. The venue is AWESOME. Turf outdoor seating space with table, couches, heaters, and what looked like a stage for live music. The staff here are certainly very friendly and the do a great job explaining the variety of beers they have. Had a beer sampler to try a few before getting crowlers. Would absolutely recommend the Udders up, Fika, and their Oktoberfest beer (as a stout and cream ale fan). All of their beers had robust flavor and interestingly enough a more full mouthfeel than most beers. The Smoked six tasted like smoked bacon which is cool and all but that's an experience, not really something I would drink regularly. This tap room is a great place to get a good afternoon or morning beer with friends and to watch football. I now have another reason to drive up from Chicago other than Spotted Cows. Go Bears.
This is my go-to spot after a hike at Devil's Lake! The outdoor beer garden and seating area are absolutely fabulous and perfect for relaxing on a nice day. When it's colder, the indoor space is spacious and cozy. The bartender was outstanding and handled everything solo better than some places do with multiple bartenders. The food never disappoints, prices are fair, and the rotating beer selection on tap always keeps things interesting.
This place was busy! For a Friday afternoon, there was a lot of activity. We soon learned it was fall break for schools in the area. Service was a bit slow but that was to be expected with how busy it was. Our food was good. I had flatbread pizza with pesto and burrata that was just what I wanted. My sister got the Pulled Ham & Gruyere sandwich and she enjoyed it. There were quite a few bees on the patio, which was to be expected with the warm weather.
A true gem next to a state park! We were starving after our hike, so my 17 year old and I. Checked menus, and location, and decided on the BLTA before we even got there. The tomatoes HAD to be locally grown, they were SO full of flavor, omg, they made the sandwich!! Also, a LOT of thick, good quality bacon. Also, ordered the bridal sprout chips. The flavor was great, but hard to eat, to be honest, too small to dip into the horseradish sauce, so I ended up putting the sauce on the top and eating with a fork with some success. Would def go back. Also, impressed to see a French roe on the menu, and it was delicious!! Outdoor area great for kids, dogs, and people that don't want the loudness of the restaurant inside!
I wish we could have truly enjoyed all that this place had to offer! They had a solo bar area, an outside seating area, and the actual restaurant. The food was delicious and I am still thinking about the picked veggies that come on the side! Definitely take the time to really experience this place, or better yet, experience more than once!
We were on a little road trip and found this gem along the way. Late August, a cooler afternoon on a weekday. We chose to sit on the outdoor patio. Each table is provided with an object that looks like a shiny fan, it is a fan but it's not for cooling you off it's a deterrent for flies and insects. Cool, not sure how well it worked? We still had a wasp visitor or two but that was no big deal. Actually no flies though, so maybe the fan just doesn't work with wasps. Food: We tried the Ahi Stack. Fresh and tasty but my boyfriend didn't like the texture of it. The way it was chopped or shaved and then formed into the mold. I didn't mind it at all but for him, it was just different. I liked it a lot. The steak bites were good, just ate them straight with a fork, didn't use the crostini. Smoked Trout Crostini I enjoyed a lot. Liked the combination of flavors in these. Drinks: He tried the Gin & Juice and was very pleased with it. I tasted it and would love to order it on the next visit. I had the Strawberry Aperol Margarita, which I really enjoyed. It is a vibrant pinky red hue.and I really liked the addition of Aperol! It wasn't too sweet at all which can happen with strawberry heavy drinks. For beer I was in love with Cabana Dreams and would have brought some home had they sold it in growlers!!!! Stop Gherkin Me Around was my partners choice. It was also pretty good. Better than all the other pickle beers I've tried.
We ate there with family, they had been there before. I had the salmon bowl, it was the best salmon i ever had. It came with 3 shrimp also, on a bed of delicious rice. My boyfriend had a burger that he didn't care for at all. Not sure why. The service was great and the ambiance was too. Got there just in time because as we were leaving a bus pulled in!
Great place To grab dinner after a fund day at Devil's Lake! Good vibes with love music with indoor and outdoor seating and dog/pet friendly restaurant. Usually pretty busy in the weekends their staff is very helpful and friendly. Would keep coming back Cheese curds are the best!
A few years later and i came back to a generally great experience. The bartender was crazy friendly and had great beer recommendations. The pulled ham and Gruyère sandwich was fantastic. Absolutely fantastic. Happy to see they switched to kettle chips. Our party of twelve was seated upon everyone's arrival albeit at two separate tables. No reservations which is a bummer for a party of 12 that wants to interact. When in the area this place will call me back.
I stumbled upon Tumbled Rock after hiking at a nearby state park. It was a beautiful day and I was able to get a table right away. I started with a flight of beer and enjoyed each one. I also appreciated the wait staff helping me pick out the beers. Although they don't have any vegetarian entrees, the asian lettuce warps with tofu made an excellent meal. I'm not entirely sure why they fried the rice noodles. I would have preferred them soft, but the dish was otherwise very tasty. The patio was lovely. If I had more time, I would have lingered with another beer. I will definitely stop back when in the area.

Woah, I was so surprised by this spot! Respectfully, didn't assume there was much around this town, but on our recent passing through, we stumbled upon this brewery. Very modern, and definitely well-kept. The inside of the restaurant portion has high ceilings, cool decor, and lots of seating including couch-like spots. We sat out on the patio though, which was so spacious. There's even a green space between the restaurant and the taproom building on the opposite side. There you'll find yard games, adirondack chairs, and even a stage where I assume they have live music. We just grabbed some wings and beers on our stop in. Love they offer 20oz in their big, custom mugs. My lager was just OK but my husband loved his amber-like selections. Good wings too. Solid spot for locals and travelers. read more
Truly beautiful venue, inside and out. They seem to have live music almost every night but we got there too early to partake. It was not busy when we arrived for an early dinner, and most of the staff congregated in and around a booth under a TV. You want a refill, more napkins, some parm & red pepper flakes for your pizza, or for dishes to be cleared away? Just look towards that TV and pray your server emerges. If there was a manager, I'd guess that's where they were hiding too. We ordered a hodge-podge of things since this would be our only chance to visit: spicy Hawaiian pizza, quesabirria, lamb lollipops, and charred carrots. The lamb and the quesabirria were the obvious standouts. Leagues above the other two items. They had so much flavor and were a delight to eat. The pizza did not taste like it came out of a wood-fired oven and was very heavy on the cheese (and that's saying something, coming from a couple of Wisconsinites). The carrots were nowhere near charred; the chunks were all vastly different sizes so not all of them were cooked, and they desperately needed that caramelization for depth of flavor. read more

Stopped by Tumbled Rock after a day of hiking. Both the Kitchen and Brewery side were packed as it was colder weather and no one was on the patio. After checking in, we were told the wait would be 20-25 minutes. Our buzzer went off after 8 minutes! Score! After perusing the drink menu, we tried a variety of beers as well as a local white wine. The fan favorite beers were the Oktoberfest and Triple IPA. The white wine was really well received as well! For food, we got a variety of handhelds. I got the BLTA which the bacon wasn't cooked as requested and was missing the aioli sauce. My mom got the Hot Chicken Sandwich which was not spicy at all. Meat was flavorful and the sandwich was huge. My dad got the Birria Torta which was also huge and had great flavor. My fiancé got the Wagyu Burger which was straight forward meat patty, blue cheese, and a bun. He wished there were more toppings to enhance the flavor. While I am rating my visit a 4/5, I would still highly recommend making a stop to try out Tumbled Rock. It's a great spot in the Baraboo area and is great for any time of year. read more

Great food, great service. I like the optional outdoor seating and that dogs are allowed in the outdoor area. The live music is also a bonus! For an appetizer, I really enjoyed the sweet corn and poblano soup and for my entree, I had the Whipped Feta Spread with veggies, which was awesome and satisfying for me. I love vegetables! My friend LOVES the Quesabirria! She orders it every time she goes! read more

Fresh pizza and great vibes! This little brewery was located right outside of devils lake and was a great pick me up after our long hike. It was very remote which added to the secluded vibe this brewery offered. I'd recommend the truffle fries. Speedy service. read more

My husband and I love coming to Tumbled Rock Kitchen for lunch. All the food we've had has been impressive, and we like the relaxing vibe. Outdoor seating in the summer is vast and comfortable. Some of our favorite dishes are from the appetizer menu: Truffle fries, Steak Bites, and Crispy Brussel Chips, to name a few. Each are special in their own way, and more than enough for two diners to share. My husband thought the Pulled Ham & Gruyere sandwich was delicious, and I loved the house-pickled vegetables so much that I considered asking them for a pint to take home. Maybe next time. read more

Overall, a great place to visit at any time of year. Whether you were looking for a local favorite Friday night, fish fry, some live music and a great atmosphere. This is your spot. We visited during the week of Fourth of July on a Wednesday night. It was very busy and the staff Was great! They have a very large parking lot which does tend to fill up quickly! read more

We stopped here after a visit to Circus World. Atmosphere: Great outdoor seating! They have umbrellas for shade and rain cover. We sat at a high top right next to the building under the eaves... it rained and we didn't get wet! Lots of seating at the brewery and at the kitchen. Service: Super! Our server, Connor, was attentive and friendly! Food: Yum, yum, yum! I had an iced coffee with Baileys, Kahlua and Frangelico (whipped cream on top? Yes please!) and it was delicious! My husband got a flight and enjoyed it. The sausage/bacon pizza was amazing. There were thick strips of bacon on top of ground sausage. We would definitely make the stop here again. read more
We definitely liked the drink options, the vibes, and the live music but the food was def sub par. At least what we got, which was: - BBQ platter - included Burnt ends, ribs, brisket, and wings plus Mac n cheese and pretzel roll - Farm pizza The brisket and wings were pretty dry. The burnt ends were the highlight but none of it was fresh. I know it's hard with bbq since it's often smoked earlier in the day but this was a miss. Even the Mac tasted like velveeta from a box. Def wouldn't recommend. The farm pizza left a lot to be desired. We both found it mediocre. The carrots were good, the best of the three and a good portion. Overall, we would come back for drinks but maybe not dinner again. Lots of people got burgers we noticed though so maybe that's what they're known for? Idk. read more

We've been here 5 or 6 times in the past few months. Every single time we've come it's been delicious. Never a bad experience. They usually have live music outside on weekends. All the beers I have tried from the brewery are very good as well. Highly recommend! read more
We showed up minutes before 7pm as 4 out of 6 of our party of 6. We advised the host accordingly, and expected to need to wait for the rest of the party. Since he grabbed menus & started towards the open-air outdoor dining area, we realized we didn't need to wait, tho the communication from the host was lacking. The previous interaction involved us asking what time the kitchen closed, or if it already had, since it was listed as 7pm online, which was only minutes away. The clipped response: "If the kitchen was closed, I wouldn't be seating you." Mind you, we've been seated at PLENTY of places that would still seat you for drinks, and possibly limited menu, after the kitchen closed. So, much for our attempt to not be those patrons that show up just under the clock & keep everyone late. (As a lover of dry humor, I can tell ya the guy wasn't being funny, or trying to - he's just a lousy host & since the front of the house makes the first impression, well - it was as lacking as the guy's personality.) Things turned around with our server, she was far more personable & was also knowledgeable about the offerings. One gal ordered the cauliflower crust pizza & they were out of it, so, she opted for a burger with no bun - and was understandably disappointed. The wings were good, tho nothing about them would make them truly stand out. The bison bone marrow was good - came with tons of bread and butter. I do prefer the cut lengthwise for ease of eating, but not a deal breaker. The tuna steak was excellent. The salted watermelon drink was a hit with the table, the Manhattan was ok & the beer was decent. Waters were automatically given, which I definitely appreciate after a day of hiking. Given the poor attitude & primarily average food, I won't be in a rush to come back. The 3% fee for credit cards was in bold, so, easy enough to spot. read more
