While in the Dells, we noticed Gravity Box Brewing is building a location on the downtown strip. It wasn't open yet, so we decided to stop by their main location in Mauston, only 20 minutes from the water park area! We travel for new breweries, and this spot is a must-visit. Really great beers! The peanut butter milk stout (Deez Nutz) was one of the best peanut butter stouts I've had. Origami rooster was also excellent, really refreshing and you could definitely taste the green tea that came through. Most of all our bartender was awesome! Very friendly and greeted us as we walked through the door. We had a wonderful conversation at the bar throughout our time there too. read more

Was not expecting a place like this to exist in a city like Mauston but I'm glad it does! Stopped on a rainy Sunday afternoon and it was pretty light on customers, but as the football game ended a lot more people started showing up. (Which is strange since there are plenty of TVs at Gravity Box!) Cozied up on the couch in front of the fireplace and ordered a few beers and one of their cheese sticks to snack on. Service was awesome and the food came out fast and was the perfect amount to munch on while drinking a beer. The Honeycrisp beer was perfect for fall but confused my brain a little since I'm used to apples being more cider based. Would still get it again though! If you're ever passing through the area definitely make sure to stop. The bathroom decor made me laugh and there is plenty of seating and seating options no matter what size group, and I can't wait to go back again! read more

My husband and I have popped in for a few trivia nights. I was exceptionally giddy over a question one night about the Hatfields and McCoys (I'm a Hatfield) and got it right. I can't drink beer, but I've enjoyed some of the sodas they've made and had 'on tap'. My husband has a few favorites and I love the tap system having old shovel handles in place of the typical pulls. If you're feeling peckish, grab a picnic pretzel or one of their amazing flatbreads. I had one in the fall with chicken and apples and hot honey. Man that was good. They also have a chicken bacon ranch which always hits the spot and occasionally have a crab Rangoon one that you should really try if it's available. Staff is always friendly and inviting. Wow! I was very impressed with the beer here. Not all small town craft breweries can deliver great beer, but this one was really great . The opened in Feb 2021. Great space on the main drag that they co-habitate with a coffee shop. Friendly service, great beer, outdoor seating, great bathrooms. I'm definitely coming back. No food, but there was a pizza truck in front on my visit. They have homemade soda as well as nitro cold brew coffee on tap. read more

It's a nice place to have a beer, been several times now. Unfortunately I don't agree with the beer reviews. I like lagers, wheats and IPA's. Theirs are drinkable but I don't want a second one. Off-flavors pervade. The comedy show I went to recently was great but very few of the patrons that I could see were drinking the beer. I'll come back for the comedy shows but not for the beer. Make some recipe changes maybe or add a tap of New Glarus? Interesting test to see which beer your patrons will go for. read more

5 out of 5 for sure! Beautiful restored building, awesome variety of beer & family friendly. We wandered in a Friday night after dinner elsewhere, stopped for ice cream across the street for the kiddos & headed in. Bartender was super helpful & friendly. They do have short selection of food that looked good as others there were enjoying. Saw a pup hanging out so dog friendly as well. They do have outdoor area but it was raining that night. Hung out, tried some flights & kids had fun hanging by fireplace playing games. Has TVs too so games were on. We plan to go back this trip & every time in town! Picking up some canned brews too! read more

Great addition to downtown Mauston! The brewery opened February 24. There is also a new coffee shop that is open morning to early afternoon. Beautiful space, you can tell they put a lot of work in the building. Lots of seating and friendly staff and customers. They are talking about having some outdoor space in a few months. Can't wait to go back! read more
