Good brewery with a nice selection of beer styles and great flavor to them all. Their Disco Lemonade is delicious. I love their empanadas, but this past time I went I had a plastic shard in my food. The server was nowhere to be found and we ended up finishing them, being careful with each bite. I showed him and he basically did nothing. When he brought the check he mentioned it was a shard from their meat prep container, but didn't offer to replace or remove anything from the check. They had a hostess who did nothing since its seat yourself, would've been better to have had her run food or check on tables. read more

I don't go to this place for the brew. I do go to this place for the food! Never really have been a drinker honestly. Having said that.... This place has very good food. Also noted the service is very good here. After you order the food comes up pretty fast. There are those busy times where there may be an order or two ahead of you. They obviously have to do those first. But even still- you food will come up pretty fast. I live not far from this establishment. Maybe times I will call in my order then walk on over to the place and they are just getting my order into the oven or just pulling it out. Staff are very friendly and they know the menu well so they can make recommendations. If you are vacationing in the area at one of the many wonderful state parks or coming into town to see the circus, make sure you give you and your friends or family some extra time to drop in in and visit this great establishment. The ambiance is great and you will really be satisfied with your food and experience at this place. read more

We stopped for drinks and to play some cribbage. That was a blast. I would recommend for visiting. I am told it gets quite busy in the summer but may be worth a try. It is a fabulous building and fun to just check out the decor. Make a stop for a least one drink. read more

Love stopping by here whenever we're around Madison. The vibe is pretty unique and, if you go on an off hour, never busy. The bartenders have always been super friendly and they rotate taps pretty regularly. Not to mention free popcorn! They have some pretty unique one-off beers and I don't think I've had anything from there that has been "bad". We finally got the pretzel this time around and it was pretty good. Huge and fluffy as you'd hope for and more than enough for 2 people. They were out of mustard, though which is a huge bummer because they compensated by giving a condiment cup full of icing? That's just weird to me and spicy mustard is the best part of a pretzel. We'll get around to trying their actual food one day and keep stopping in whenever we're in the area. Not necessarily worth a special trip but definitely recommend grabbing a brew if you're nearby. read more

I thought Al. Ringling Brewing Co. has great food and great atmosphere of brewery. I also really love the history of the building as well and seeing all circus related decor within the restaurant as well as listening to the circus organ when they fired it up while I was enjoying my meal. I hope to visit this restaurant again in the future. PS I really love the fact that Al. Ringling Brewing Co. is right next door to the Circus World Museum. read more

A nice space where I enjoyed a beer and some wifi. I found a nice seat upstairs in the "mezzanine" area with some privacy. I did try to order some food at the window but as I walked up, the counterperson went into the kitchen and worked on something. After 20 minutes - 10 of which I stood there waiting and 10 I could see from my seat - he did not come back out to the counter. The beer was great but without some food, I did not have a second beer and decided to head on. [Review 20702 overall - 271 in Wisconsin - 1683 of 2023.] read more

The Al Ringling Brewery is nothing short of amazing. Tyler the bartender is knowledgeable and extremely skilled. The atmosphere is warm and reminiscent of circus memorabilia. They also have a band organ that they strike up every once in a while. This place is nothing short of fantastic! Highly recommend you come visit! read more

We ordered a beer that had a chunk that looked like a jelly fish floating in the glass. We pointed it out to the bartender and he tried to pass it off as normal. At one point said it's just protein. Said it was buildup from the keg. He tried to talk down and asked if we drink much craft beer....when we said yes....his response was "oh". What it was is a dirty tap line. And the guy fed us a load of malarkey to excuse it. read more

Service and beers were great in this brewery with a lot of history. Shoutout to Tyler and Drew for making it a wonderful visit.

The ambiance is really cool. It's connected to a mansion. Whimsical decor in the taproom. The small brew house is inside. You can order Peruvian food at the "pie car" inside. The empanadas are good. There is an outdoor beer garden. The beer is average. Friendly service read more

The brewery is connected to the Al Ringling Mansion. Very neat space. Large variety of beers including one made from a discovered recipe of Al Ringling himself. They offer empanadas, sandwiches, appetizers, and a few kids menu options. We got the empanada platter which came with 3 empanadas of our choice (4 options) and fries. We got the beef, chicken, and shrimp (they were out of the portobello option). The shrimp was my favorite though all 3 were tasty. My son got the sloppy joe, which was actually better than one you make at home. We got a bowl of beer cheese soup which was heavy on beer flavor and light on cheese flavor. The fries were a highlight of the meal. The kids chicken tenders were basic. We did not get any beer this time though all looked great and there were plenty of patrons enjoying them. The staff was not overly friendly nor welcoming. The bartender was sitting at the bar on her phone. Even considering she was doing some work related task, Perception is reality to the guest. This didn't seem appropriate to me. Especially when I approached the bar and she did not look up to help me immediately. You order at a counter and then seat yourself. No table service. Keep in mind that there is a huge beautiful calliope in the dining hall that plays at the end of every mansion tour. I loved it but it is very loud so keep that in mind if you have small children with you. All in all, it was an entertaining and tasty experience. The high mark was the atmosphere. The food was okay, not necessarily something I would go back for. I can't say for the beer. Low mark was the staff. They need to focus more on their customer service. read more

Al Ringling Brewing is an essential stop if you are in the Baraboo/Devi's Lake area; not at all far from the Dells. The brewery is separate from the Circus Museum. Parking is ample and free. The bar is built from reclaimed wood from the old bowling alley - way cool. Most Baraboo kids took bowling as part of PE so it's very much a tangible piece of local history. The decorative organ is beautiful and operable. Beer is good and there is something for most everyone. Staff is helpful and friendly and will help you find something you will enjoy. Live music most weekends and other events are posted on their social media. Food is good, with an emphasis on local tradition like a Friday Fish Fry and a Sunday poutine brunch. Prices are fair. Absolutely worth checking out if you are in the area. read more

Stopped to try some of their beers and it was a busy looking Saturday. We were hoping to sit outside in the beer garden but it was full and there was no seating left though there was standing room. We tried the Ringling original, hefeweizen, IPA (bearded lady) and the red ale. The red ale was probably our favorite, but I'd recommend the IPA too. The food menu looks robust and there is a separate window for ordering. We didn't get to try the food but will next time we stop! The pretzel was HUGE. Plenty to share with friends. Cute stop in Baraboo! read more

Stopped in yesterday, Wednesday...to an empty tap room...just what I prefer so I can chat up the beertender.... and boy did I ever! Beertender Ashley absolutely radiated w kindness. I forget what she said it was but the big organ is not a Wurlitzer; the building used to be the local Elks and where the tap room is used to be the Elks ballroom. There was a bowling alley in the basement which the floorboards of it now make up the tap room tables! Most of the tables and seating are my preferred standard height! So the tap room just oozes originality and history! You really have to sit down and slowly spin around the room to take it all in! Like the little wire type globe w the motorcycles circling in it! Also pay attention when you're walking up to the building... you don't want to miss the fun little mustache hand stamps in the concrete! Then once you enter the building the Ringling history begins!!Build a flight...if not for the chance to try several beers at once... the Ringling trademark mustache makes an appearance again...as the flight paddle! I opted for a flight of #2 Elephant Walk - Belgian Tripel, #7 Barabooberry fruit beer made w the seasonal beer, #8 Hot Summer Night black currant sour & #14 Flying Squadron Maple 10% Russian Imperial Stout. All the beers were delicious but the Flying Squadron Maple and Hot Summer Night walked away my winners! As I told beertender Ashley: the sour had what I look for in a sour.. the tart that makes the back of my neck hair stand up, like wasabi. Then... you just can't go wrong w a RIS on a cold day. I noticed the Pie Car sign on the wall above a food window. I didn't see anyone in it and didn't ask Ashley but I had read on yelp that that is where you can order Peruvian food. Thanks Al Ringling Brewing for exceeding my expectations for what I was expecting from a small town, to me, brewery. I loved how you worked so much fun circus history in to the brewery tap room. Ashley and I laughed when I asked: what time do the lions and tigers come out for petting...and the elephants for rides? Ha. Cheers! read more

This is such a fun brewery if you are in the Baraboo area! First, I would recommend doing a tour and checking out Al Ringling's mansion. It's where the Ringling Brothers use to reside. I'll let them tell you about how the mansion transformed into a circus themed brewery. It's pretty cool. The place inside is a nice brewery with a fun circus theme. It wasn't busy when I came through but I wonder what it's like on a Saturday night. Food is great! They have a Paraguayan menu which is so unique and awesome! I would order the Yuca fries, empanada and pork skewers. The pretzel is huge and nice with beer. For sure order the beer flight! Try them all! They give you 4 sampling. My fav is the guava and passion fruit. read more

The vibe is fantastic. We got to meet the owner and it's clear what a labor of love this is. The bartender (Joshua) was super knowledgeable and hooked us up with some great beers! The pretzel is the best I've had anywhere and the food across the board was delicious. This is a must visit if you're in the area. We even got to hear the 1905(6?) organ play! As we sit here (visiting Baraboo for the first time) my son just declared that Baraboo is the greatest city in Wisconsin. I can't verify that as I've not been everywhere yet - but I can say that AL Ringling Brewery ranks as a must visit whenever we're here. You'd be crazy not to check this place out! read more

We expected a lot. It was terrible. I thought we'd walk in and there's be circus music and it would look like a circus tent inside and it was minimal decorations that they look like were collected. It was a let down because this place could be soooo cool. The service was extremely slow. We ordered two salads and boneless windfalls and it took like 40 minutes to get. This is a nice place for customer, but if you want to work here i suggest not too. The owner never has money in the bank to pay his employees. If his girlfriend breaks up with him then he is rude to his staff and threatens to fire them. The owner would rather add new things to the menu or pay other company's for more ideas than pay the staff. The white male cook doesn't know how to cook at all and the food is always raw. If the Mexican woman or male are cooking then the food is absolutely amazing. The bartenders and brew master are extremely friendly and nice. They make sure you are always being served unless busy with someone else. The servers are nice and make sure your food order is always in. read more

I visit craft breweries as a hobby. Ringling Brewery's location is unique in the Ringling Mansion in Baraboo, not far from the Circus World Museum. I think this alone makes it intriguing as a brewery and brewpub. The decor is interesting and historical, as is the bar itself. When I visited during the day on Friday, the 13th, the establishment was busy, presumably with patrons also doing a tour of the mansion. So, service was a bit slower when seeking to order a flight. One of the female bartenders focused on a couple with their food on the side of the bar I sat while completely ignoring my presence. The other female bartender who was primarily attending to the taps in the center did notice and took my order. Alas, not enough 5 oz glasses for a flight of 4 and I started with one but very soon received the other three. The price was a little much, but not out of character for most breweries. I asked for a brewery sticker which they were out but I was given a growler label instead. This was considerate and thoughtful of my server. The flight I picked included a sour, a Kolsch, a wheat/Hefeweizen and the chili ale Heat Merchant. 3 of the 4 were palatable and consistent with what I would expect of those types of brews; nothing exceptional but serviceable. In contrast, the Heat Merchant was the functional equivalent of an assault on my mouth. I have tried a fair number of beers with spice or chili. My favorite is likely the Jalapeño Honey Margarita sour at Public Brewing in Kenosha. The chili compliments the other components and balances the seemingly divergent flavors. The Heat Merchant was too much chili with no balance. It was cold hot sauce with no nuance. As I wrote, it felt like an assault. I could go no further than one sip. I was tempted to press charges against the brewer but decided instead to write this review. Please, PLEASE for all that you consider holy, reconsider this beer and it's flavor profile. Consider tuning down the chili and adding something like a sour component or otherwise to balance it out. A beer should have some aspect of refreshment, not brutality. read more

This was our first time here, on Sunday of Memorial Day weekend. Things I liked: 1. The empanadas were delicious! 2. There was a very nice selection of beers 3. The decor in this old house is amazing. Very cool, nostalgic, and downright circus-y 4. On Sundays, they serve cup of bacon. Order this, you won't be disappointed! 5. The bathrooms are fancy and clean. Things I didn't like: 1. The few workers were young and not very helpful. They didn't seem to know the menu very well. 2. Several of the items we wanted were out of stock. I'm not sure if this is commonplace in the restaurant world at this time? 3. Our burger was very over cooked (ordered rare, received well done). 4. Not your standard restaurant, you order beer at the bar and you order your food at a different counter. They give you a number and bring your food to you. Overall, this place has a lot of potential. The beer and food was good, they just need to tweak a few things to make the customer experience great. read more

We came up to visit the brewery and do the mansion tour. The brewery was far more important to me going in, but in honesty, the mansion tour held it's weight and then some. It also tells you why the brewery was made (sorry, you won't get that spoiler from me..go do the tour to find out!) We had a full day before and after our stop here so I limited my drinking to a sample glass of the Ringling Original and a full glass of the Roustabout. I'm a dark beer fan and found the Roustabout English porter to be spot on. The Ringling Original was decent as well, a must-try after learning about it during the tour. The brewery has both indoor and outdoor seating and it's a large place. The inside features a massive organ built in the early 19th century France that was once used for the circus. Every hour or so it plays for about 5-10 minutes. The decor here is also pretty intricate, and as you would expect, animal related. Wouldn't mind another visit some day as they had a great looking selection of beers. Cheers! read more

One star for service and price. My son stood in line waiting to order a soda foe over ten minutes while the bartender passed him.by again and again. Beer was delicious and the space is really cool! However, we got there just before 4, got a beer and went to find a table and decide what to eat. Went to the counter to order and we're told the kitchen was closed until at least 5 since a server and cook called off. But... the place didn't seem busy. This place has such a cool vibe. Came here with my kids and sister/husband after visiting the circus museum (amazing also). Kids were starving after along day of touring. You order at counter then they bring your food. Food was quick and kids meals were pretty typical. Sweet potato fries were . Their menu was fun and unique. Empanadas and other South American cuisine. So tasty! The service was friendly and helpful. The beers were middle of the line, but I live in Beer City USA....so I might be an unfair judge. I would come back for sure! We were very disappointed. First time we came the fish fry was good. Tonight we came for dinner and it was mediocre at best with food. Burgers were so-so nothing to report home about and not cooked at all how we wanted. The pulled pork cold and had a funny after taste. When I ordered the empanadas I was looking forward to chimichurri and different sauces. I asked the girl specifically for this and she said it comes with the empanada. They all came out with the same sauce which had not a lot of flavor. This place has a lot of history but their customer service is sub-par at best. Having to wait in line fifteen minutes for beer is not good. And having to order at the beginning is not good either. Nothing special here. Last time we came we had the fish fry which was good and the big pretzel was good too. This time it didnt come if any good sauce and it wasn't hot enough. Meh! read more
