Not a bad place, also not somewhere we go out of our way to hit up. It's nice to have a coffee place so close to the square with a lot of free parking near, but the hours are odd and they seem to be randomly closed when they're advertised as open so that's probably my biggest turnoff. The service is very friendly and the drinks are very prompt. There's a large menu of coffees and a variety of specialty drinks. I've had some specialty hot espresso drinks which were decent. The different types of smoothies taste good but have more of a frozen fruit-slushie vibe, yet to be impressed by the frappes -they are very watery and have large chunks of ice. It's a large shop so there's almost always plenty of room. It's a clean space, louder than most coffee shops I've been to and doesn't have a very cozy feel so I'd say it's better for picking up a drink and walking around the Baraboo square. All in all, it's nice to have a place to stop by if you need a little caffeine and friendly service, but it's nothing I feel like going out of my way for. read more

A great place for purchasing coffee beans (flavored, regular roasts, organic and fair trade), loose leaf teas, and syrups. They offer espresso drinks, hot coffee, tea and smoothies. You can also pick up bakery items, grab in go drinks, snacks, and protein bars. The latte drinks were sufficient but everything else offered here makes it worth visiting. I met someone here for a work meeting on a Wednesday morning. The tables are spaced out around the shop just enough so you can have a legitimate conversation with your colleagues. I ordered a cafe au lait with almond milk. Out came a cup of foamy deliciousness. I then had the luxury of choosing my own drip coffee from the 8 choices they had brewed. I've never been able to do that before. A gentleman came out from behind the counter and helped me choose the coffee, which was super handy. Another bonus? I stopped in the Coffee Bean Connection on a recent Friday for some coffee and to get some work done. I grabbed a bottomless mug and stationed up in the corner. The staff was friendly and the coffee was great; they had at least eight drip options to choose from. The only food options are pastries so you have to go elsewhere for lunch or a hearty breakfast, but the scones were pretty good! The free WiFi kept me connected and met my needs. I was in on a non-holiday Friday in the summer and from about 8:00-10:30 when I left the place was packed. Almost all of the tables were full of friends or families sitting together, laughing, and enjoying their brews. This made it a fun atmosphere but ultimately led to me heading to the library for the rest of the day as it wasn't the best work environment. That's not what they're trying to be though, they have clearly nailed the Connection part of Coffee Bean Connection. read more

I stopped here while visiting Baraboo. Small town atmosphere, a 3 out of 5 (more tacky than trendy). Coffee is 4 out of 5 (easily drinkable but nothing to write home about). The coffee shop is clean and comfortable. Huge selection of coffee (64 different coffees by my count in their bins). I was told they use UP coffee from the twin cities. They are being very Covid safe. At this point in time there is no in house dining. Workers were very friendly and helpful. I appreciate the wide range of coffees they have available. Not a bad little coffee joint. Glad to see Baraboo's downtown is picking up with local shops. For asshole Baraboo had become chainsville with much of downtown vacant. The iced latte wasn't bad. I'd recommend ordering with an extra shot... at least. They have two milk options 2% and 1/2 & 1/2. The had an interesting variety of baked goods, local sundries and pre-packaged junk food. Not sure where they source their coffee beans but if you're into flavored beans (not my thing) there are plenty of choices available in bulk barrels for you to choose from. The staff at Coffee Bean Connection are amazing! I'm always greeted with a smile and served quickly, even on busy days. I stop in 5-7 times a week to feed my caffeine addiction and I'm never disappointed. Baked goods are made mostly in house I believe, and they have so many delicious treats. They rotate some so you'll always have a new treat to try! I get an iced soy latte with flavor every time, though I've tried other drinks there and loved every single one. Excellent coffee spot. They have amazing coffee which you can purchase to take home or order online, whole beans or ground. Can't beat the prices either so we're able to take plenty of high quality coffee home. I bought Michigan Cherry the first time & when the employee opened up the case, the strong aroma of fresh cherry filled the decent sized shop. You can also purchase loose tea or syrups (there are TONS to choose from) as well. Being from Chicago, it's always the number one place to stop at before heading up to the Dells. read more

Coffee Bean has been Baraboo's coffee shop for years. If you are looking for a variety of whole brands and a huge collection of flavored coffee, you'll find a big variety. The Bean ifs often crowded with locals including a big crowd of students in the afternoon. read more

Where should I begin? The coffee here is diner-grade at best. It's absolutely terrible; weak and with a distinctly rancid aftertaste. I tried a sip of all three coffees that were being served, and ended up dumping out the one that I chose. It was god-awful. Other observations: They don't grind espresso shots fresh (instead they grind enough coffee for hours and let it go stale in the grinder's hopper), so the latte drinks must be equally bad. Their bulk coffee beans are stored in tubs with flip tops in the sunlight. The tubs aren't airtight, which means the coffee just sits there going rancid. With such a large selection of beans, I wouldn't be surprised if many of their beans have been exposed to the environment for months. They don't serve pour-overs or french press, so there really is nothing here to earn a star. This place is a disgrace to coffee culture. All of that said, I doubt there is anywhere with good coffee in Baraboo. It's all diners and pastry "cafes". I would not have expected to find this gem in Baraboo Wisconsin. With Coffee Bean Connection who needs a Starbucks? I came to Wisconsin on a girls weekend to get out of the city and we stopped into downtown Baraboo to see where some of the girls we were with grew up. Around mid morning on a Saturday we came to Coffee Bean Connection to pick up some caffeine and I was pleasantly surprised. The store is quite large and the decor is very homey. Coffee Bean offers a wide variety of drink options as well as flavor add ins. I got an iced almond milk latte with flavor add in and it was so delicious I had to consciously drink it slowly. Since there were eight of us, we got to spend a little extra time chatting with the barista/owner/nice guy. There were a few patrons throughout sitting at tables and enjoying a relaxed Saturday. We got ours to go so we could walk around downtown, but next time perhaps I'll bring a book and stay for a bit. I will definitely be back here the next time I am in the area. read more

How I love the Service at the Coffee Bean, all the people are willing to help you find your new drink hot or cold and if you don't like it they are always willing to fix you another, they make it right, just ask. I go a few times a week now meet friends but it is nice place to take my 7 year old son, we have coffee dates there on Fridays.They know his drink order and mine, but they treat people from young to old with old fashion customer service. I love that. They have a variety of Tea and Whole Bean choices, that you can take hole, they will grind the beans if needed to your preference. They also have fresh baked goods and other snacks. Awesome little cafe. The outside doesn't really "draw you in", and because of that, I hadn't noticed the place existed for the longest time. But man I'm glad when I finally did. The coffee and tea are both some of the best I've had, while still remaining cheaper than others. Another big deal to me is the temperature at which they serve their beverages- Hot, but still drinkable and won't burn your mouth if you start drinking right away. If you're even reading this far into this review, and looking for a good coffee shop to go to, just go to this one, you won't be disappointed. I concur with other reviewers. This place has a great cup of Joe. I tried some of the highest rated coffee shops down south in Madison, but was by and large really disappointed. Not so here: I tried the "del fuego" or some-such blend (fair trade). Unlike some fair trade blends which may be "fair" but are not tasty, this one was earthy, rich with a lasting finish.
