BK Electric came out within a few days to take a look and give an estimate. I had received a lot of estimates for this project and BK Electric was in the lower middle range of the prices I got. Scheduling: This was honestly a nightmare. After I signed the contract and put down a deposit they scheduled me on a day for the following week. This outlet installation was required to be completed prior to a Costco purchased microwave delivery and installation appointment. They cancelled on me and needed to reschedule 3 separate times. Each time I was only notified the day of the scheduled appointment. This caused the follow on Costco microwave installation appointment to need to be rescheduled each time. To be fair to the person in the office, Eli, it wasn't his fault and he was properly scheduling and doing his best to get the electricians out to do the job. It was the electrians who either were calling out that day or last minute going to "higher priority" job sites. However, for the BK Electric as a whole, this is pretty terrible customer service. Work: The quality of the work seemed good. Where and how the ran the line and the junction box with the outlet installation all seemed cleanly done. However, there was an issue where they did not install a GFCI outlet in the new location that required it. This delayed the microwave installation since the Costco installers refused to install without a GFCI outlet. I had to call BK Electric and have them come back and fix it.

I've utilized Ron's services at least 10-12 times over the years -- from simple jobs (installing ceiling fixtures) to intermediate jobs (hard wiring an EV charger to my electrical panel) to complex jobs (a garage renovation/conversion with all new wiring and a sub-panel added.) Ron came through each and every time. Never a problem. Never an issue he couldn't solve. And never something he couldn't explain, or didn't have the patience to explain, to a dolt like me. He is extremely giving of his time: not only does he not charge to assess the issue, but also he does not charge for follow-up questions once the job is complete. Nor does he charge to go shopping for a part or doodad you might need but that he does not have in stock on his truck. Yes, it might take you some time to get an appointment (especially if you are a new customer) because Ron is quite deservedly in high demand, and he also prioritizes existing customers over new ones. (Which I am of course biased when I say I think that's a great philosophy!) And he's also not the most punctual person you've ever met. So if you have an absolute *emergency* then Ron is likely not going to be the fastest one to your home. But if you have any job where planning, fastidiousness and professionalism takes precedence over speed, I am confident that you will not find a better electrician for the job than Ron.

The work started at 8am on a Saturday and wrapped by 4pm that afternoon with our car successfully charging without issue. They handled permits with the city and provided guidance when I met with the inspector and the permit was approved. Our project required trenching and a ~70ft run to a detached garage and the plug-in team handled it no problem. He clearly had done many of these installs and new all the important points, including getting the proper permits from the City of Burbank, which can be persnickety. I was especially concerned because it was a very high capacity charger. He confirmed with me that the quote he gave me covered what I needed. I secured the job with his company, he arrived on time and ready to go. He and his crew knocked out the work in just a couple hours, with excellent craftsmanship. He had the inspector from City of Burbank out within a couple days, and the inspector signed off on the work immediately. Ross and his crew were verly nice, and cleaned up well after themselves.
