I just love this place and already I'm getting a little better at the moves or I need one less modification. Pure Barre is a low-impact, full-body workout. Besides walking, I haven't worked out consistently in over a decade. My goals are improving balance, increasing flexibility and finding my muscles again. After researching, talking with others and watching YouTube videos--it came down to PB or a more senior-oriented workout. What tipped the scale for Pure Barre is the owner, Jacki. She really wants people there that "want" to be there. Jacki and the other 2 instructors I've experienced are attentive and encouraging while insuring your best form with the moves. The studio is also kept clean (very important to me). The other ladies in class are welcoming while we are all focused on getting the most out of class. I feel comfortable in the small group environment doing my best. I'm not going to lie, it's a tough workout for a 66 y.o. couch-potato, but I want to challenge myself. The wall has "Lift, Tone, Burn" and you'll do all that in 50 minutes and feel SO accomplished. There are several types of classes. I'm participating in "Classic."

Part 2 to reply to the owners comment to my first post:…read more I contacted the studio directly multiple times over several months before leaving this review, so their polished public response is disappointing to read. If the empathy expressed here were genuine, my cancellation would have been handled months ago, the repeated billing attempts would have stopped, and I would not still be receiving ongoing payment texts and emails for a membership I do not owe. What has not been addressed publicly is the actual issue: my cancellation request was repeatedly denied despite medical documentation, an unauthorized freeze was placed on my account, billing attempts continued afterward, and my direct communication was repeatedly ignored. This response feels focused on public image rather than accountability or resolution. A polished response means very little when the private handling of the situation tells a different story. For anyone considering a year-long membership, I strongly encourage you to fully understand the cancellation terms before signing and be aware of how difficult it may be to cancel if circumstances change.

They even have an on-site daycare room for some classes which I thought was nice to offer. It is on the second floor of the building, but they send thorough directions to you before attending your first class. Some people have been coming here for 2k+ classes - there are some real devotees here which means they must be doing something right! Classes are a little more expensive than other studios in my opinion, but you are buying into a high quality studio. Also, I felt like this was a more wide-range age demographic as far as students. While Pure Barre to me feels more like 20-something year olds, I liked that this was a more diverse age demographic.

Think twinkle lights, calm music, and sound bowls. I really appreciated the instructor who made sure everyone was comfortable and knew what to expect from the hour long sound bath experience. If I hadn't had my coffee that morning, it would've been very easy to fall asleep. She has comfortable padded mats already laid out but recommends bringing a pillow and blankets and showing up in cozy clothes. This experience was wonderful and I really hope to do it again. Highly recommend!

Welcome to Indiana, Physique 57! The owner loved the classes so much in NYC that she decided to…read moreopen a studio here after she moved. They are a barre and fitness studio with classes such as 'sculpt' and 'power sculpt.' I've taken a lot of barre classes in my day and what stood out for me here was the very friendly and welcoming approach to what can be an intimidating class. I've now taken both virtual and in-person classes and all three teachers I've had have been AMAZING. They've each been incredibly friendly and kind, while also being encouraging and motivating. I want to be their friends. The personalization and care has also been wonderful. The teachers in the virtual classes have used my name, the owner knew my name when I walked in for my first in-person class, and my most recent teacher asked if I had any injuries beforehand. I also just received an email with a 15-second video with my name in it, from one of my teachers, inviting me back. A quick, personalized video? Such a cool and nice idea! The workout clothes in the lobby are also SO CUTE. They carry a lot of Alo Yoga items, and while it is expensive, I was tempted. They also sell the grippy socks which you might want for the classes, as you will be in socks only. I've done a few classes in regular socks and it's fine, but I just bought my first pair and can't wait to wear them next time. There are a few free street parking spots out front, but there's also a free parking garage across the street, so you'll always be able to find an easy and close parking spot. I'm excited to come back! I'm also SO SORE!

My…read morelegs are screaming at me and my arms hate me today, but yesterday, when I dropped in on one of their classes, I left energized and I slept like a baby. That's what a good workout will do to you! I consider myself a moderately fit person: I do 30 minutes of cardio every day, and I walk 2 to 3 miles a day. So I felt like I was able to keep up with the workout, but there were some parts that were really challenging. The barre workout I did incorporated stretching, movements at the barre, working with a ball, mat work, working with dumbbells, crunches and push ups. All of it happens at such a fast pace that you don't even have time to think about how much you hate crunches (like me) or whatever -- you just do them. The studio was exceptionally clean and organized, and the staff takes great care to sanitize everything. I felt really safe working out here. One thing to remember is to bring socks! You work out with socks here. Also, this location gives discounted drop-in classes to teachers, essential workers, students and performers. That's so neat. The location of Physique 57 can't be beat: It's right across the street from Sun King. So you can grab a celebratory beer after class as a reward for all of those leg dips you did.
