Love adding pure barre into my workout routine! Even if you're not a member and just do some drop in classes, they are for everyone at all levels. I know classes can be intimidating especially newer to the choreography but it's quick to pick up and the instructors are super helpful. Even as a class passer I feel very welcomed. Friendly staff, clean studios and good music. They also offer free pop up classes in the summer and when new studios open. I took a pop up for the opening of the Westfield studio at west fork whiskey. You'd think without the equipment it wouldn't be as tough, but I was proved wrong! read more

[look to my left] How is ballerina-ass girl doing that move with such a pretty and peaceful face? I look like I'm about to shit my britches or my head is going to explode because I've forgotten to breath. Just another day at Pure Barre for Brittany. Now, if only they had a downtown location so I could make a fool of myself on a more frequent basis. This stuff is no joke and I'm a-okay with looking dumb so I keep coming back for more. Note that the first class is free at the Fishers location and not at the Carmel location. There aren't too many differences between here and the Fishers location but I did notice Carmel tends to have more packed classes (RSVP in advance!). Don't forget to wear socks- required for class. Between the two, I would choose Fishers because the vibe of the studio is a little more laid back and to be honest, that might just be a result of the different customer demographics. What to expect? Bar work, sit-ups, weights and mat work. Clean atmosphere, friendly and helpful instructors and upbeat music. You'll feel it for a day or two- which means it's working! read more

Heck to the yes. Pure Barre provides the best workout I've ever had and it's perfect for anyone who used to be a dancer. Of course it doesn't matter if you've ever danced before, but there are certain stretches and exercises that will be familiar and feel good to you if you ever did dance as well. The class itself is very intense and you work every muscle in your body until it's completely burning. The classes are always packed and 55 minutes long. You will use weights, a ball, mat, rubber band, and the barre interchangeably throughout that time. It's really great because being in a such motivated group pushes me to work harder than I would on my own. The facility itself is nice as well, and also very convenient. You sign up for classes online beforehand and then when you arrive, your name is already written on the iPad at the front desk for you to click "Sign In." Very seamless, no waiting necessary. I would go back more regularly if it weren't so expensive (although I do believe the price is worth it). So far, I've received a free trial class as well as a "Happy New Year, thanks for joining our company this year" free class which is a nice perk. read more

Barre class is not easy!!! Don't let those small movements fool you!! Today was my first experience with barre and I must exclaim....I was humbled!! The instructor was very helpful in assisting me in getting into the right position. Position is important because it effects which muscle group your working on. Great workout! Your legs will shake, you will sweat, and you will be sore the next day. The facility is nice and clean, with all of the supplies you will need for your workout. My one star deduction is the lack of friendliness or inclusion from the other attendees. I have been taking classes at Pure Barre for a few months now and can't lie...I am hooked! This is one of the best workouts I have ever had. I have worked with personal trainers, had regular gym memberships and taken countless Zumba classes but none of them compare to the workout you get at Pure Barre. The class focuses on the arms, thighs, butt and abs...all of those things that us girls worry about. Usually I am sweating 10 minutes into the class and even though I have been taking classes for over three months, I am still sore the next day! The classes are designed to be low impact which is great for someone like me who has had knee problems in the past. The instructors are great! Very encouraging, friendly and knowledgeable. The space is clean, warm and inviting. Like the other reviewer said, it can be a bit pricey. But, trust me, it is totally worth it! read more

OK, sooooo here's the deal. I do NOT like to work out. I hate it. I have tried and done so many things to NOT hate it but I do and Pure Barre in Carmel was no exception to this rule for me. I almost left the class early b/c I was annoyed. It wasn't anything they did. It was just not for me. It was a "feel the burn" class but not too difficult and I should have probably felt amazing after but I didn't. I just felt "over it" and didn't have any desire to return. The women running the class were nice, pleasant and welcoming. I wasn't intimidated or felt out of place. I just WAS out of place. I cannot possibly give my experience 5 stars b/c ....well it just wasn't. In addition, it's overpriced but almost everything "class" based is so I'm not surprised. It's just definitely not happening for me at the price point. For me it was just OK but I'm sure for those who love this type of work out and can afford the monthly fee, it's wonderful. read more

I wish I could give this place a 5 but sometimes the atmosphere is very unwelcoming. Going to a new place to workout when it consists of mostly regulars is hard sometimes and definitely intimidating. My first classes were two or three summers ago and the people working the front desk and instructors were so kind and patient. The most recent times I've been though, I haven't been greeted warmly and was treated like I didn't belong. Every time I come, they treat me like I have no idea what is happening even though I've been several times and even say that. Yes, I know I'm not a regular but that doesn't mean I shouldn't be treated with the utmost respect-I'm paying and it's expensive! All that being said, I do really love everything else about it. The facility is great and well-kept. I appreciate how the room is smaller and isn't a mega-class. I also like that it's carpet and the dimmed lights. The class really focuses on many problem areas and really makes you work! I'm already sore from my class 2 hours ago! I want to try another location to see if there is a friendlier vibe but I would love to workout here everyday. read more

I recently attended my first class on Wednesday and loved it so much that I decided to do the new student trial for a month. Pure Barre is a ballet style workout but there isn't any classical music putting people to sleep! The music is pumping and really gets you going and the instructors come around and help make sure you are doing the moves correctly so you are getting the most out of your hour. The class size can be anywhere from 7-25 but all of the women are friendly and seem to really focus on themselves so you don't feel judged or watched. I'm only on class two but I can say you will be sore after class. Prepare for those muscles to shake! At one point my legs were shaking so bad it looked like I was having a seizure but the instructor ensured me that it meant I was doing it right. The only downside is that going often can get expensive. They do have a new student special right now to go unlimited classes for 30 days for $99. I think that's kind of pricey but it is completely different than any other workout that I've done and that's probably why I like it. I went with a co-worker for the first time as a guest before Thanksgiving. The staff were very friendly and welcoming! The instructor personally welcomed me and asked if I was comfortable with hands-on teaching for specific movements, which was very considerate! The class was packed full and the energy was great overall..very positive and energetic. I didn't feel put on the spot when I was corrected on my form. It was much appreciated, actually! Overall, I didn't work up a great sweat but boy did I feel all the small movements in untrained muscles the next day!! This workout was surprisingly very effective and fun! Lots of transitions with different series of exercises which kept it interesting. Only downside...I wish there were more bathroom stalls..it is a single room restroom which a line formed before the class to use it. These classes are out of my budget otherwise I'd be back sooner. I'll be on the lookout for discount classes for the future but I would definitely recommend this workout to those who can afford it! read more

For someone who is a cardio addict, I have been on the hunt for a big switch up...well I found my new fitness addiction. Pure Barre challenges not only my body but also my mind. It's the perfect storm of intense strength and muscle training but in a relaxing and calm way...You'll never know what I'm talking about until you take a class. Came into my first session not knowing any of the moves/barre lingo...no worries, you pick up on that stuff FAST (your first week is free)! Took my third class today and already seeing the change. So far I've only taken two classes here, but they were amazing! The owner is extremely nice and welcoming, and the studio itself is brand-new and very clean, with great equipment. The classes themselves are out of this world! I can really see how, if you were to do these classes 3 times a week, you could be in fantastic shape within a few months. The format seems to be starting the class out with a warm-up (including some arm work using light weights, some pushups, and a few planks), and then you move to the bar to work your legs and your "seat," as they call it. Then you do some core work using the bar, some more core work on the floor (they have mats there for you to use), and then finishing the class with some more glut work and a quick stretch. Sounds pretty easy, but I was sore for 3 days after my first class! The only downside is that they're pretty expensive, but they offer some packages and your first class is free. I'd highly recommend trying them out! read more

I first tried pure barre during a Yelp elite class, but have since been coming back religiously! This exercise class is a great addition to my fitness routine. I love the fast paced, energetic music, and the upbeat instructors. The workouts are all done with tiny little movements that really help isolate small muscle groups, and I can definitely see a change in my physique! This is one hard work out! But I really did love it. I always have a hard time trying something new, and going alone so my anxiety really gets to me. The instructor and ladies behind the desk were so sweet. They really made me feel comfortable. But there were a couple regulars in the class who kept whispering and during the course. Made me feel like they were talking about me, probably weren't though, but it did make me feel uncomfortable. I will definitely do it again, but probably not stand in the front of the class again. I just took my first class here, and I was disappointed. The woman at the front desk was kind and welcoming, but my instructor barely said hi when introduced. She never told me what I needed, I watched everyone else, and she never really checked in to see if I needed help. She spent most of the class sitting on the floor barking out commands hardly doing any of the moves. That makes it hard for a first time class because I have no idea what I'm doing. She hardly corrected anyone and seemed to keep looking at the clock many times. The last few minutes, she had her back to the class and was looking at something and not even watching any of us. She just kept commanding our moves. She would say things I couldn't understand like squeeze and tuck. I have no idea what that means. Some exercises are very intricate small movements; I just laid there because I had no idea what i was supposed to be doing. She actually came over twice to correct me which was surprising because many times during the class I realized later I was using the wrong leg...she never said a word or noticed. I just felt confused and bored the whole time. I didn't think it was a good workout, probably because I wasn't doing it correctly, and I felt unwelcomed. Clearly many people know each other and chat beforehand, which is fine, but I left feeling like I would have had the same workout and experience had I just done a video at home...maybe better. I'm sorry to say, I won't be back. read more
