Legs quivering.....is the instructor looking over here? Maybe if I stretch out for one second she won't notice how terrible my form is or that my leg doesn't bend like that... [look to my left] How is ballerina-ass girl doing that move with such a pretty and peaceful face? I look like I'm about to shit my britches or my head is going to explode because I've forgotten to breath. Just another day at Pure Barre for Brittany. Now, if only they had a downtown location so I could make a fool of myself on a more frequent basis. This stuff is no joke and I'm a-okay with looking dumb so I keep coming back for more. Note that the first class is free at the Fishers location and not at the Carmel location. There aren't too many differences between here and the Fishers location but I did notice Carmel tends to have more packed classes (RSVP in advance!). Don't forget to wear socks- required for class. Between the two, I would choose Fishers because the vibe of the studio is a little more laid back and to be honest, that might just be a result of the different customer demographics. What to expect? Bar work, sit-ups, weights and mat work. Clean atmosphere, friendly and helpful instructors and upbeat music. You'll feel it for a day or two- which means it's working!

Heck to the yes. Pure Barre provides the best workout I've ever had and it's perfect for anyone who used to be a dancer. Of course it doesn't matter if you've ever danced before, but there are certain stretches and exercises that will be familiar and feel good to you if you ever did dance as well. The class itself is very intense and you work every muscle in your body until it's completely burning. The classes are always packed and 55 minutes long. You will use weights, a ball, mat, rubber band, and the barre interchangeably throughout that time. It's really great because being in a such motivated group pushes me to work harder than I would on my own. The facility itself is nice as well, and also very convenient. You sign up for classes online beforehand and then when you arrive, your name is already written on the iPad at the front desk for you to click "Sign In." Very seamless, no waiting necessary. I would go back more regularly if it weren't so expensive (although I do believe the price is worth it). So far, I've received a free trial class as well as a "Happy New Year, thanks for joining our company this year" free class which is a nice perk.

Barre class is not easy!!! Don't let those small movements fool you!! Today was my first experience with barre and I must exclaim....I was humbled!! The instructor was very helpful in assisting me in getting into the right position. Position is important because it effects which muscle group your working on. Though by the end of class I was not pouring sweat like I do when I run, my muscles definitely made it clear to me that it had worked...and worked hard!!

Only time I've had abs is from pure barre!

I like Pilates, but the part of getting on the ground makes it a little daunting, but the reformer made me feel more than capable stretching deeper than I have in awhile. I still feel it today and I went Saturday. I have been energized, and have continued to exercise each day at home. I would like to sign up but membership is a little steep. $99 for 4 classes up to $219 for unlimited. It's meant for who it's meant and that's okay. Class requires grip socks, so if you're not someone that frequently goes to places that utilize them it's a bummer having to purchase them for an intro Pilates class when you're not absolutely sure you're going to sign up. I understand why they want you to have them while using the reformer. Front desk was helpful and amazing. Explained everything well, was very courteous and easy to talk to before and after class. The club is located in a parking lot with a lot of other frequented businesses so the lot is large but it wasn't a lot of open parking, but you will find a spot. I suggest checking out the intro class and seeing if it's for you. I really loved my exercise.

I moved to Indy from Los Angeles, so my comparison of Club Pilates to the caliber of studios available in LA is probably unfair, as the quality of LA exercise studios in general is world-class. That said, the Club Pilates instructors are good, well-trained, thorough, give good cues, seem knowledgeable, never suggest things which are unsafe or incorrect, so while it may not be the most advanced or sophisticated Pilates workout I've ever done, these workouts are solid. It's a judgment-free zone, and I've been in classes with people of all ages, colors, sizes, and fitness levels. Everyone is welcome and it's a very relaxed space. There's ample parking and the front desk staff is very nice. Definitely worth checking out!

After the first month I was hooked and have made the hot room part of my weekly routine ever since. They take pride in their brand, their practice and their community and it shows. All of the instructors are not only skilled but incredibly welcoming and personable, making you feel comfortable and part of the Hot room family from the get-go. The class offerings are versatile enough that you can practice several times a week without feeling the burnt out. It's brought me to the best shape I've been in, both physically and mentally, and I continue to feel challenged at each class. Their response to COVID-19 has been nothing short of remarkable, pivoting to online classes, both at your convenience and live virtual sessions through The Hot Room Now (highly recommend as well) and taking significant measures in-studio to keep the environment safe for those who come onsite. I have been impressed with their transparency through all the changes as well. And now about their beautiful new space in Fishers--just whoa. They have taken the studio experience to a whole new level. This place is chic and immaculate, perfectly located at the Fishers District. Everything else that's wonderful at their Northside and Downtown locations is packaged here as well--the instructors, the boutique, the heat and the community. If you're looking for a new workout routine, even if you think you're not into yoga, give the Hot Room a try. I think you'll be hooked, too.

After scanning the website, I decided to check it out the next day, since the first class is free. After one class, I signed up for a membership ($39/month) and I've been to at least 2 classes a week since joining, if not 4-5 - which is unheard of for me. I like it THAT much. Revel's studio is within Primelife Enrichment in Carmel, but the clients are all ages. From my first class (Zumba with Erin) I felt welcomed and accepted. Each instructor has noticed I'm "the new kid" and gone out of their way to introduce themselves and welcome me to class. Revel is full of regulars but everyone has been friendly and many have asked my name and welcomed me to Revel. This is a community that I don't think I'd find at a larger studio or gym. Going to the gym in general has always made me feel uncomfortable, but here I can dance without worrying about how I look. I can just focus on having fun. This place checks off all the things on my list. It's close to where I live, affordable, welcoming and offers a variety of classes (Zumba, Pound, TurboKick, LaBlast). I actually look forward to my workouts and can't wait to continue my fitness journey with Revel!
