I've been a member on and off since 2021, and something that rarely gets talked about is how rigid and unforgiving the membership terms are. They lock you into a contract, and when life happens--like losing a job--there's no grace or support. I recently reached out to cancel my membership due to financial hardship, and was told I'd have to pay the equivalent of over two months just to cancel, even though my contract is nearly up. When I first signed up, I was told they'd work with me if something came up. But now that I actually need help, I'm being met with nothing but silence and fees. For someone who's been a loyal member for years, this feels unfair. I just want people to be aware of how inflexible and unsupportive this membership really is when you need it most. read more

I came here for a free session after the Indy Mini. It kicked my booty! It was both challenging and relaxing and I've never been sweatier in my life. My only complaint was that it was really hard for me to hear the instructor at times and I was watching the others for what to do. Hot Room, Cold Welcome- I was invited (key word) to a Pilates class here at the last minute. I live close by, so I figured, why not give it a whirl? I roll up at a rebellious 7:36 PM, since class started at 7:30, only to find the door locked up like they were hiding national secrets inside. Two women behind the counter looked at each other, then at me, like I was a raccoon trying to break into their trash cans. One slowly came over, cracked the door open just enough so that her body had enough room, she stood at the door and said, "For safety reasons, we can't let anyone in after 5 minutes." Mind you there is an entire lobby and boutique that I could have been invited into. I blinked. "Safety reasons?" She explained it was because of "the weights." Ma'am, it's Pilates, not a WWE SmackDown. If a stray 3-pound dumbbell is all that stands between me and bodily harm, maybe you should consider issuing helmets. I mentioned it was my first time. She gave me a pity "awww" and told me to come back Saturday. Unfortunately, I'll be out of town, but even if I wasn't, I wouldn't return. They treated me like a Jehovah's Witness at a front door: cracked entrance, fake smile, no eye contact. Girl, I'm not here to sell salvation. I just want to stretch. Also, tiny detail, but I'm 98 percent sure it's illegal to deadbolt the door of an open establishment. If the hot room gets a little too hot and catches fire, how exactly are the Pilates faithful escaping? Through interpretive dance? If they had simply welcomed me in, explained their policies like normal humans, and offered to help me reschedule, I'd probably be writing a very different review. I love the hot room! As someone who used to weight lift the hot room has been a great way for me to get active again. All the instructors are super sweet and staff is awesome. There's no pressure in the classes to move at any pace other than what your body can handle. Super healthy environment and I feel great leaving every class! read more

I have tried another Hot Room, but this one is by far more welcoming. If you are new to Hot Yoga it can be a tad intimating, but this location is extremely welcoming. Not just the staff but the students as well. It can be difficult to find a spot if you show up right before the class starts, so I recommend arriving at least 15 mintues early to ensure you have a decent spot. Parking can also be a little difficult. They do not have their own lot so you will have to find street parking, so be sure to build in time for that as well. The instructors are very nice and knowledgable and depending on the class, it can be very relaxing but it is VERY hot! Be sure to bring plenty of water and don't be shy to take breaks when you need. The instructors actually recommend not to force it. So don't be intimidated, try it! read more

I decided I wanted to get my flexibility back as a bodybuilder and what better time than now. I do yoga at home on YouTube but it's very different when you have people there to inspire you. I picked the candle hot yoga at 8pm because I wanted a soft feel but when I tell you this stretched me out I had such a great night sleep. I burned 362 calories in an hour. Make sure to bring a mat, towel, and water. They have available mats and towels for you to use. Such a great experience and the staff! Every single people are helpful, so sweet, and offered instructions, showed where everything my was and made me feel apart of the family. I loved going to this yoga studio and went for over 2 years. When it came time to cancel my membership I did so just as they had told me, yet was still charged the $149 for the following month. During the time frame after canceling the membership I decided to go to a drop in class for a final hoorah, which I was double charged for ($60!). At this time I told the front desk I wanted to use my account credits for the class yet they told me my account was still active. But, if my account was still active, why was I charged 60 extra dollars for one drop in? It's been months since this occurred and I have called numerous times and I'm told the same thing on repeat, which is they will make a note of it and someone will reach out to me. Nobody ever has reached out to me. I was wrongfully charged $210. I'm honestly not surprised, because they did the same thing to my best friend. So just know, when you cancel your membership, they likely won't honor you filling out the form, and you will still be charged, and definitely don't expect your money back. The hot room is a for profit, dishonest organization. I'm still patiently waiting for someone to reach out to me, I just don't want anyone else to get ripped off:) read more

I LOVE The Hot Room! I'm going to be honest and say I was a huge skeptic before I joined. I thought I would find a bunch of pretentious people and that is the furthest thing from the truth! The staff and instructors are incredible! They are kind and supportive and push you to be your very best. I love the variety of classes they offer. I do wish they had some 5am classes. I know that's so early, but I have to be at work at 7:30am and I would love to get a great workout in the morning. I would also love to see them offer more monthly payment options. For example...8 classes per month is x amount of dollars, etc. They have package rates, but I would love some other monthly deals. It's hard for me to make it to class more than twice a week and I would love a more affordable option. Regardless I will continue to come here because the support and community is second to none. My friend had a guest pass for this location and it's an experience to remember. This is yoga in a 100+ degree room which causes you instantly sweat and feel dehydrated immediately. It's crucial that you drink a lot of water the night before, and bring water to the class too. It's recommended to bring your own yoga mat, a towel that you put on top of your yoga mat so you won't slip, water, and a towel to wipe your sweat. This was my first time here and the yoga positions that the instructor used are pretty doable for all shapes and sizes. The class is a little fast pace, so prior yoga class experience would be definitely helpful, but it's easy to learn on the spot. The restroom is quite small; they have storage spaces for your items, but it's not like lockers it's an open space (cubicles). They have shower spaces for you to wash up after your yoga session. Since it was such a small area, I decided to go home and shower. Hot Yoga is Apple Watch friendly, so you can keep track of calories burned and your heart rate. The only problem that I had is that, this class was at 6AM and the parking meters don't start charging at 7AM; sometimes the class goes a little over by 10-15 minute, so I got a little nervous and scared that I received a ticket on my car for not paying for the meter. I definitely highly recommend to try it, because after that 6AM Hot Yoga class, I felt so fresh and renewed ! I definitely was more productive for the rest of the day! read more

I wrote my last review three years ago, shortly after joining The Hot Room for a first month deal. Never would I have guessed that I would get so hooked that I'd still be a member today or that it's become a staple in my weekly workout routine and keeps me sane throughout the workweek chaos. My yoga practice has reformed my muscles, my breathing and my posture. It has made me a better runner but it's also made me a better person. I have an outlet for my energy and it's where I can release pent up frustrations by pouring into my poses. I was not into yoga before joining The Hot Room but now I can't picture a week without it. Today's class was conducted by. Caroline was our instructor. I like that she called out the new students in class today. I like attending different classes with different instructors because it allows me to become better at yoga. Caroline had a good presence with the class. I like that she walked the room so you feel that she talked to EVERYONE! At times I found that she was speaking a little to fast but I just focused more on her voice and was able to keep up. Since attending classes at The Hot Yoga room I am learning to breathe through my movements and my flexibility is increasing more and more. I'm writing this testimony after 29 days and 20 classes of sweating and stretching at The Hot Room. I'm officially a believer in hot bikram yoga! My favorite part of bikram is that by doing the same asanas, I can see where I've improved, whether that be with if I can do the posture or how long I can hold the asana. The instructors have been a big help along the way. My schedule has me doing the majority of classes with Laurie or David, both of whom I am grateful for. They always seem to know the right things to say, especially when I'm struggling. They set the tone in the room, one that is motivating and kind. Most importantly, The Hot Room has changed my body and mind for the better. Physically, I'm down some lbs, my stomach has flattened, I can inhale and exhale longer, and I'm seeing definition in my arms. Mentally, I'm better at quieting my mind, which is a huge deal because most days I feel like my brain runs 100 MPH. I feel the best I've felt in about four years! With one month down, I want to continue a regular practice, so I've sign up for another month. I am eager to continue pushing myself and see more of hot yoga's benefits. read more

After COVID-19 shut everything down, I just recently started getting back into working out at a studio. My experience at THR has been amazing so far and I am really happy to be coming here as my main form of fitness. The safety measures in place for COVID are thorough and make the experience feel safe and comfortable. These include distancing in the classes, masks when entering, leaving, and moving about the studio, smaller class sizes, and allowing only one student in the lobby at a time. Outside of the current conditions, the classes themselves are challenging and enjoyable. I have tried HIIT studios and reformer pilates and tried just about everything in between to "get fit." By far the classes offered here give my body the best overall feeling. I personally love the HIIT Pilates and Hot Power Sculpt, but the yoga is obviously their bread and butter. What makes these classes great are not only the well-thought-out exercises and poses but the empowering coaches. I have had great interactions with them, including the very sweet studio owner. Recently joined and have now made it through 3 classes. Power flow, yin and regular vinyasa. Im over 50 and the heat certainly helps improve my flexibility for class. Facilities are quite nice, shower rooms and yoga room in pretty good shape (some of the cushion tiles are separating from the floor,which should be fixed). Classes are usually full, but now spaced out much more, and require everyone to be masked until they are on thier mats, so covid safety seems reasonable. I also see them wiping down after every class, so thats good as well. One downside is the wonky online signup for classes, which basically shows them all full and you have to get on the wait list. But the front desk can make exceptions to get you in, which is nice, but if you didn't know, you might never come in. Anyways, not the best hot yoga place I have been too, but pretty nice and the instructors are all quite nice as well. read more

I've been to the studio twice and have practiced with their instructors on 2-3 other occasions and each event has been consistently well executed with empowering and challenging instructors. The Hot Room is active and responsive on Instagram and Twitter - and if you reach out with a question you're going to get an answer. Follow their accounts for deals, challenges, and sweet bios of studio participants! The word I'd use to describe the style of yoga/pilates at Hot Room is: aspirational. It's challenging for all levels, and intentionally so. I practice regularly but any class I've taken with The Hot Room team is tough - but they do a great job of talking through poses, offer optional hands on assists, and keep it fun! read more

Not honest about pricing and caused me a lot of inconvenience. Had a long conversation with manager and staff on Sunday about the studio, and they offered me a free class. I booked using their instructions and came all the way from across town. Upon arrival, the studio surprised me with a $59 fee, minimum $30 today. Went to the Hot Room for a 101 class on Vinyasa. I personally have never done any Yoga before so this class was extremely informational. The Hot Room offers a 101 class every Sunday from 2:45 to 4:00. You have to register/sign up for the class prior using their app. These classes fill up fast so you have to sign up at least a week in advance. This class was the perfect mixture of learning/information and actually practicing yoga. The instructor was extremely helpful and very nice. She seemed very knowledgeable and taught me a lot. I really enjoyed this class and will continue practicing Yoga. It felt great to get out of my comfort zone (Normally workout in a gym lifting weights) and try a different type of workout. I really loved the atmosphere and how hot the room was. It was the perfect temperature to keep your body loose and help sweat out any toxins. If you're interested in practicing Yoga this is a great place to start. I would definitely check it out! read more

I'd walked by this place a few times and never really thought about checking it out until I got invited to a class by a friend. I was really impressed by the space and the staff. I was greeted warmly as soon as I walked in, and they made the check in process really easy. I was then toured around the studio by my instructor for the day who also helped me get my mat laid out for class. Overall, the class was a great workout! I LOVE The Hot Room! I cannot say enough good things about this place and the workouts! This has been the most effective workout class I've ever tried. For your first month, I believe it's still $39 unlimited. Beyond that, it is pricey but it is worth it. My favorite workouts are the HIIT Pilates, Original Hot Yoga, and Hot Power Sculpt. The HIIT Pilates class is truly the most fun you'll have when working out! The music is great and the workouts will absolutely push you. I am so glad I gave THR a try before our wedding, and I have been attending classes periodically over the past year and a half. Fellow, Yelpers. I have a confession to make. I am ADDICTED to hot yoga. Yes, it is true. I have taken an obscene amount of classes at both Hot Room studios in less than a week. I love it, and can't get enough! I will probably go through some serious withdrawal when my staycation is over and can only go once or twice a week. Call me a glutton for punishment, but I seriously "heart" it. I decided to take advantage of the free 60 minute original hot yoga class offered at the downtown location. Like many, I was curious, but worried about passing out from the heat or even worse that I had lost my mind for wanting to try this class. I arrived at the studio and was warmly greeted by the staff and given the low down for class. Be sure to bring a large towel (beach towel) or a yoga mat towel as well as an extra face towel and water, of course. I entered the hot yoga room, and thought (in my Nelly voice) daaaannnnngggg, it's hot in hhheeeerrrrreee! What have I gotten myself into? So class started and I was still filled with doubt. I was already sweating 5 minutes into the class. The instructor of the class, who is also the owner, took us through a series of stretches and poses. Honestly, at one point, I wanted to run out of the room, but I worked through it. The instructor was so positive and encouraging. "You can do anything for 10 seconds." Those simple words helped me get through the class. Of course, when class was over, I ran out of the room, but honestly, after just sitting for awhile, I felt amazing! I felt so strong, encouraged, and truly enjoyed the challenge of the class. I decided to take advantage of their unlimited classes for one month at the cost of $39.99. Great deal, considering a single class is $20. I have attended two additional classes since my first class and am signed up for my first 90 minute class. I told you I was hooked!! I have attended classes with two different instructions at both locations and all are well trained and highly encouraging. Not to mention, both locations are warm, inviting, and most importantly clean. The room was cleaned as soon as class was over. It doesn't matter your level of experience or physical shape. This class is for everyone! I encourage everyone to try it at least one time. You'd be amazed at how well your body adapts to the conditions. It takes about three classes to get used to the environment. With each class, you think less and less about the heat and more on the poses. This place truly lives up to there motto: Stretch. Sweat. Thanks to Yelp's Fit Club I was able to explore a new avenue of fitness last night - Hot Pilates! I wasn't quite sure what to expect but what I got was more than I could have imagined. A core workout, a sweaty bod and some new friends combined to make one heck of an experience. I can't wait to return to The Hot Room to experience the other classes they have to offer. The facility, which I take to be fairly new, was immaculate and set up in a great way. Although the line was out the door to check-in that didn't deter people away. As a warning they do not accept credit/debit transactions under $10 so keep that in mind when needing to purchase anything under that amount (or have cash!) read more

They always happily greeting you, answer any questions very quickly, pretty nice & clean studio, their apparels are soooo cute, a little pricey but they always have 25% sale deal. I walked into The Hot Room Downtown the day it opened in October of 2015 having NO IDEA what I was getting myself into. I had been to heated vinyasa at other studios around town and thought, "yeah, yeah, been there done that." Boy was I in for a treat! I was honestly destroyed after class, but something inside me said that I needed to really give this yoga a chance. I signed up for the $39 Unlimited Intro Month, went every day, (because I gotta get my money's worth, ya feel?) and never looked back. The heat is truly therapeutic for mind and body. The Hot Room has become my retreat from the world, my place to share breath, movement, and space with an honest community/family. A supportive community that is willing to go beyond "#yogaaesthetic" and get ugly sweaty, and let them walls down honey! Do the intro month and go at least 10 times to feel your best. Drink LOTS of water and take electrolytes, do the work, and your body will thank you! read more

I tried the intro month back in June. Honestly, after my first class I wasn't sure it was for me. But I had a whole month for $39, so I went back and tried it again and again and what do you know - I started to love that sweaty feeling! I definitely believe that you need to take several classes before deciding if it is for you, especially if you are not someone who does well in the heat like me. I started with the traditional Bikram yoga a few times to acclimate my body to the heat before venturing out to try the other classes they offer. My favorite class is definitely the inferno hot Pilates, but I still try to go to a variety of classes each week. They offer Bikram, vinyasa, Pilates, yin, and a sculpt class that combines weights with vinyasa. The instructors are eager to help and passionate about what they do and it definitely shows. So far, I have not had a bad experience with any of them. If you are a first timer, you will definitely want to make sure you are drinking plenty of water before the class. Also, be sure to bring a yoga towel or a bath towel to lay down on your mat because it will get sweaty and slippery. The only cons for me are the price (but I've checked out other similar facilities and it's comparable or even a little cheaper) and the fact that there is no parking available except for paid meters on the street. I feel like I have to update my review after having gone through a one-month intro membership with the Hot Room. Simply put: I loved it. The instructors are amazing, which is the reason why I loved it the most. They're personal, there for YOU and your health, and put a smile on my face every time I attended. Outside of the Hot Room, I usually tend to go to vinyasa yoga as Bikram usually isn't my style. However, I would say that I completely switch my go-to at the Hot Room. The vinyasa is very challenging in my opinion and the sweat dripping from your personal bits into your face is never a good feeling as you're in downward dog. I LOVED bikram mostly because it's the same thing every time so you're able to 1) see your progress being made and your growth; and 2) you can make it a meditative state. I went 20 times in my first month (short because it was February) and I loved it. I felt great, but towards the end of my month, I could tell that going that often was not good for my body. I could feel exhaustion at all times of the day and towards the end, I felt that my body needed like 24 hours of solid sleep, so the intro month was a perfect amount for me. My reason for the lower stars: the price. It's insanely expensive and not accessible at all to me at my current income/expenses, which is unfortunate. That being said, don't like that deter you from trying it. Buy the intro month and check it out for yourself. I believe that if you sign onto a membership after your first month, you can get the 2nd month for $59 (or $69?) and then the 3rd month for $89 and then it jumps to the normal $99 a month. After the intro month, I could see and feel changes in my body, so I knew it was working. Notes/tips/comments: - take your shoes off before you head back to the locker rooms - try out the intro month (or there's currently a Groupon) - download the app - it made booking and cancelling classes insanely easy - consume electrolytes basically 24/7. Even with that, my body still didn't feel back to its normal self - check out their social media pages: they have lots of free community classes throughout the month - be ready to do lots and lots (and then some) laundry Overall, a great experience and I LOVED doing it during February when the winter gets me down the most. But sadly, the price is just not worth it. Maybe for $50 less a month, I'd consider it, but at $99 a month, it's just not feasible. read more

I recently got into yoga and have been trying different studios to find one I like. I found this place on google and decided to try it. I bought the unlimited classes for one month trial package they offer. 2 days later they closed temporarily for the COVID-19 virus. I completely understand why they had to do this! I found their page on Facebook and messaged them to see if my month of unlimited classes would be extended when they reopen so I can actually try this place. I was told no because they will offer virtual classes... (not what I wanted when I paid but okay I'll give it a try) I download the app they are hosting this virtual classes on to try it out. IT WAS HORRIBLE! The sound was so distorted and echo-y. You couldn't hear anything they were saying. Super not relaxing and a complete waste! I regret giving them my money! On top of everything after this I get a separate email from them asking me to donate money to them!! So I paid for a month of classes at your studio and can't do that. I tried your virtual classes. Useless. Now you ask me to donate to you?! Amazing! There are much more welcoming studios around. I would avoid this one. read more
