2 weeks in and I am officially obsessed with Solidcore! Man, this is hands down the HARDEST work out I've ever tried. My body is sore in places that have never felt sore before. This workout is different from anything else I've tried. It's takes strength and endurance. You're supposed to move slowly to feel the burn but the music is loud and fast paced so it doesn't feel like a yoga class. It's extremely upbeat, especially once you have found your favorite instructor. I really like how there are so many different classes and class times throughout the day and how even if you go multiple times a week, each day focuses on a different muscle group. The catch phrase is "The hardest workout you've never tried" and nothing could be more true. I'm a die-hard [solidcore] fan and while the Carmel location isn't my home studio, I stopped by for a class that better fit my schedule while I was out Christmas shopping. One of the things I love about the [solidcore] brand is that it's consistent across studios: things look and feel very familiar if you try another studio. The keypad entry makes you feel secure, the plethora of cubbies to store your gear are helpful, and the studio itself is dark and motivating. Even if you're a [solidcore] newbie, the coaches go out of their way to help make you comfortable. You'll definitely feel like a fish out of water for your first few classes (don't feel bad, we've all been there), but the addiction is real once you fall in love with the [shakes] and [sweats] you'll earn under these blue lights. My Carmel experience was nothing short of fabulous: Denise was subbing for that evening's regular instructor, but she worked us hard! Her coaching was motivating and clear, helping me and my 3 other classmates maintain good form while performing every move with slow, precise form. She helped make adjustments to the sweatlana, demonstrated the trickier moves, and helped correct improper form with gentle touches. I was feeling the results of my workout the next morning! WOW, what a workout. I mean - seriously. I was sore for three days probably after doing just the beginners class. But man - it is one that you feel all throughout. It was nice to be able to do the beginners class and to use Class Pass! If you don't know about Class Pass and are trying to figure out what type of work out classes are good for you, i would suggest giving Class Pass a try! If you would like a $30 reference code send me a message :) But back to SolidCore - I mean, this workout, even the beginners class, was difficult. I'm not sure I have ever sweated that much in one class (even hot yoga or pilates!) It is a lot of planking, a lot. So be sure to get a good form ready to go or you'll be regretting your decision to do this class 10 minutes in. It is low-impact, but you get a great full body workout. From the planking, to the squats, to the lunges - you'll feel it. Cannot wait to try it again! It seems to be one that you can almost instantly feel results. This workout is HARD, but it's over before you know it. I started with a beginner class and have now taken 3 full body classes. All of the instructors I've had have been great. They are well trained, motivating and most importantly, have good playlists. I do feel like I'm a little bit on the older side compared to most of the other people I've been in class with, but everyone has been super friendly...just something to note if that bugs you (it doesn't bug me) There are small cubbies to keep your things, a coat rack and a water station. They provide a small towel for class. read more

LOVED this workout. So challenging and I actually almost died. No but really, there was a puddle of sweat on the machine when I finished. This workout is not really for beginners. However, they do have a beginners class a couple of days a week! So try those out first! Very low-impact workout great for people with injuries. The movements are slow and controlled using the machine ( or torture device, whichever way you see it ). Will be back!! read more

PHEW, what a workout! Prepare to be sore for at least 2 days post-workout. If you're a fan of more resistance workouts like pilates and barre, you will LOVE [solidcore]. These classes are tough, but so effective. Joe's class is my absolute favorite. His playlist is fun and pumping (think Erika Jayne's "XXPEN$IVE" and lots of Beyonce) and he is super encouraging. Your core (or thighs) may be screaming, but he'll make you smile when he tells you to "wave to the bad b*itch in the mirror!". Like another reviewer said, I wish there was a location closer to downtown. I'd be there every week! read more

Love [solidcore] and the unique, HARD, and tough workout I get each time I go. I have done all sorts of group fitness classes, and this is one of the only ones that is consistently difficult- in a good way! The moves can be a little tricky at first, but with the help of your coach & the people around you, you will get the hang of it. This fitness center has a boutique-esque type vibe. Beautiful blue lights set the scene for this intense, yet extremely focused workout. Solidcore focuses on engaging core muscles and other body parts by maintaining tension throughout the whole workout! This type of fitness pushes you to the extreme all while staying on the same deck throughout the 45 minutes. It is instructor led so you always know what to do during the workout. You do not wear socks during the workout so keep that in mind when attending! read more

This is by far the HARDEST workout I've done! This class challenges you both physically and mentally to muscle failure! As someone who does HITT workouts 4-5 times a week, this is a great change up! Highly recommend to anyone wanting to try something new. Definitely going to add this 1x/week for a change. read more

[solidcore] is absolutely phenomenal. The reason why I say this is because when you aren't an athlete and you try these high intensity classes like CrossFit or HIIT, you have a high chance of getting hurt. Case in point- I got hurt and [solidcore] has helped me avoid injuring myself again with it's amazing sweatlana! This platform protects all the easily hurt areas of your body while focusing on your core pain points. Definitely familiarize yourself with the sweatlana before you use it but as soon as you do, you'll instantly fall in love. All the instructors are amazing and I have thoroughly enjoyed attending classes. I wish they would open one downtown because I would be an instant monthly member. Oh my goodness! This is an amazing full body workout. It was my 1st time, the instructor took time prior to class to give me one on one tutorial. Kindly placed me between experienced participants to help guide me. The instructors directions were thorough, easy to follow, and assisted me throughout. This location was clean, bright, and a great overall atmosphere. Definitely going back...I have found my perfect low impact, high intensity, total body workout! read more

[solidcore] kicked my butt... in the BEST way possible! Brooke S., the studio manager, is so friendly and helpful to first time members. Going into class for the first time can be nerve-wracking because of all the unfamiliar equipment, but she explained the function of each piece of Sweatlana (the machine) and demonstrated the major moves we would use throughout class. Every move of the workout requires holding tension in various muscle groups, so by the end you've had a FULL-body workout. Seriously. The day after my first class I felt soreness & strength in muscles I had never even noticed before! The coaches are helpful in correcting form to prevent injury, which is helpful to a runner like myself who is prone to discomfort in my shins, knees, and back. Coaches and classmates alike are so encouraging and push each other to not give up. I love this studio and you can bet I will be going back as much as possible! read more

Holy heck! Great workout. Have gone twice now and both times my friend and I loved it. The beginners class on Saturday is tough but the instructor was great. I was challenged and motivated.
