I have no chill - I'm fully obsessed with Shred. For me, the keys to a good workout are a killer playlist, a high energy, motivational instructor, and a workout that doesn't get boring. Shred classes check all the boxes! The studio asks you to arrive early for your first class, so they can have you sign your waiver and then give you a tour of the studio. The studio space is so nice, and the bathrooms have showers (!!!), plus all the things you forget when you inevitably need to rush from workout to another thing (hair ties, brush, hair spray, deodorant, blow dryer, ALL THE THINGS.) When you enter the class space for your first class, your instructor tells you more about what to expect and shows you around your deck (which I found to be extra helpful because I've never really lifted and had no idea what I was doing on that front!). Typically classes are four 15 minute intervals, two on the deck (floor with weights) and two on the treadmill. Some instructors change it up and do different intervals, but they cue very clearly to let you know when there's a change coming up. This workout can be totally customized to the fitness level that works for you - as examples, the instructors tell you to grab a light weight, or to raise your treadmill speed .1-.5 - so you're in control of your workout. I appreciate that if I'm having a rough day (or rough interval), I can take it down a notch, but when I'm feeling great, I can make it more challenging. The instructors are SO, SO good. Like truly, I can't say enough great things about the instructors. They cue well (which trust me, now speaking as an instructor, it's harder than it sounds!), and they're great about keeping things moving during class. The entire staff is so friendly, and they make it a really welcoming environment. Oh also - I'm a sucker for merch, and they have cute stuff! read more

Love shred for the perfect strength and cardio combo workout. You will leave burning hundreds of calories. This is the only location in Indy and it's awesome even during covid! You sign up through their app and pick your spot. You can also chose to start on the treadmill or floor/strength exercises. Class sizes are cut in half so everyone can spread out comfortably. This is a great workout class. I like the format of the 4 - 15 minute segments. The instructors are motivating and keep you engaged through class. It's sometimes confusing to keep up with the instruction but the overall atmosphere is that it's best to keep going & catch back up. I really enjoyed my ffirst workout at this place! Very motivating, clean, organized workout space, staff and instructor were all fantastic. It was a bit of a drive for me so I wasn't sure if I would come again but it was definitely worth it. The only critique I have is that it was missing some of that 'family' feel some gym classes have where the instructor will call you out by name or speak to you directly especially if you're not pushing yourself hard enough. So happy that classpass led me to trying classes at Shred 415. Well, Class Pass and having an instructor that is a friend (hi, chris!) Shred 415 is one of those classes that energize you at the same time it's kicking your booty. This studio does an amazing job of making everyone feel comfortable and really pushing you to your limits. I cannot say enough good things about all the people I have met thus far, and I can say this without being an actual member (and that's on me due to a travel and work schedule - nothing on them! One day I will be a member :) A clean, welcoming lobby - full of inspiration from their word wall, a small area of retail and a memo board with all the upcoming events for the week - nice touches. They even have a small child care area which is a rarity in studio life around Indianapolis. Great, clean equipment - nice and spacious bathrooms - and locking lockers. I checked out Shred415 through ClassPass (which you should definitely look into if you haven't already). What a workout! It has a bit of an Orange Theory vibe in that you're alternating between 15 minute circuits of different activities but sans the monitor. I went to the Butt & Legs class, and my B&L are still feeling the burn today. The facility has one big workout room where the classes take place, a childcare room, cubbies/free lockers for belongings, and restrooms with showers. They have a month unlimited special for newcomers for $135, which seems steep, but if you are dedicated and go regularly, you could definitely get your $'s worth and whip yourself into shape! read more

I really just Shred so I can tell my friends I am shredding. No One: Literally No One: Me: I just shredded. 415 is not the area code in which Shred was founded, rather it's for 4-15 minute segments of SHREDDING. Shred is like OrangeTheory, but so much more fun! Here's the gist - you will switch between the treadmills and floor (deck, as they call it). The treadmill time varies in speed and incline. The floor exercises are also interval training and vary from class to class. I've done yoga and that helped tremendously to know the exercises. However, you can expect pushups, jumping jacks, burpees and weights. As others have said, the demonstrations of the floor exercises is quick so you have to watch (or just stare at others who all seem to know what they are doing). I would absolutely pay attention to the instructor #1 or you will miss a transition. The music is blaring, the lights are low and it's a workout. Best part - just bring water. They provide you their own towels! I use Shred via ClassPass (check it out) but they have their own memberships too. It certainly takes a hit to the budget, but there's no better investment than the one in yourself! read more

I've been to Shred415 4 times and every time the work out has been completely different and very challenging. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. There is child care, which is very rare these days to have at a fitness studio. The women's bathroom is very neat and clean, filled with all the accessories (towels, hair ties, hair spray, shampoo, conditioner, body wash etc) you would need when showering after class and heading back to work (if you work out on your lunch like me). The class consists of half running and half strength training. Depending on the day they have a different focus. Some days it is abs and arms other days it is full body. The work out can be modified for walkers, if running is not your thing. I use this studio as a way to mix up my work out routine and take a break from cycling. read more

It is a great workout. I have been coming for a few years and I love the variety of class times, instructors and the workout itself. It is a perfect combination of cardio and strength training. All of the classes provide a variety weight movements and modifications if needed. I thought I was in decent shape when I started attending, but I have gotten stronger both in cardio and strength over time. I cannot say enough good things about Shred415. I have tried lots of different group fitness style classes, and no workout beats a class here. I've never seen the kinds of results that I have after going to classes here for the past year. The classes are organized into four 15 minute segments alternating strength work and running (hint: strength + tread = shred). The classes are super fast paced high intensity interval workouts. Don't be too intimidated, though. The instructors are great about providing modifications for all levels. The "decks" on the floor are where you do the strength work. Each deck is prepped with 5 to 12lb sets of dumbbells. They've also got heavier dumbbells available. Up on the treadmills, the speed is up to you. The instructor guides you through a warmup and runs of varying lengths, changing up your speed and the incline to get your heart rate pumping. Walkers, joggers, and runners are all welcome. What I love about Shred is that you're constantly switching moves and no two classes are the same. Burpees aren't so bad when you're only doing them for 30 seconds! Lately they've been hosting theme days with super fun playlists to keep things interesting. Don't get me wrong, I love shred, but sometimes I need a little extra motivation to get excited about a high intensity hour-long workout. And that does the trick! Plus, the instructors are absolutely incredible and supportive. Early morning classes are the most convenient for me. The latest class of the day during the week is typically 5:30pm, which is pretty tough for me to make most days. There's just one big workout room where the classes take place. There is child care available and there are lockers available for your stuff, clean bathrooms with showers and water fountains. What a wild workout! The music is blaring and I love it! You are totally in the zone either on the treadmill or on the floor working out those core zones you don't always get to in the regular gym. The staff is intense, inviting, supportive, and totally passionate about what they do. It's 4 fifteen minute intervals and it flies by because you are constantly changing it up. I love that on the floor everything is done on a platform so you protect those wrists from getting hurt. Everything is at your own pace but changes quickly so you never get bored. Shred is one of my favorite places to work out. Every single time is different, and everything single time is challenging. Every instructor who leads class is different in their own way, and It makes me look forward to the way I feel after a shred class. For the class only being an hour of the day, it is one of the hardest workouts in an hour that you could ever get yourself to do! The lights being dim, the music loud, and the instructors motivating you on the microphone..you push your limits in this class. This is similar to orange theory, but this one doesn't have the row machine. The one I went to was for arms and abs. They have treadmills lined up on the wall and the other side of the wall has the lifting and benches set up. The class room was small and seemed little outdated. They did have the small fans all over the walls but unfortunately there was one hitting right at my direction while I was on the treadmill, I tried to push it up, but I also wanted the people beside me to have fans. It was inconvenient that the treadmills didn't come with their own fans like the ones I've seen in other places. We did 4 sets for 10-15mins. You can either start out with a treadmill or the weights and you switch every set. It was more fast pace for weights for me and I wish I was able to see what the instructor was showing on how to do the moves. He was on the floor on the other side so I just got the glimpse. However, he was a good coach. I liked his energy, him jumping around to the music as he was in a rave. I probably will not be back because personally I have bad knees and want to expand my workout that doesn't require me being on a treadmill. The front desk was nice enough to show around and introduce to the coach beforehand. You do get a free 1 pass for the next time, and a special deal for 1 month unlimited for I believe around $130-$140. read more

A really balanced workout especially if you are trying to slowly improve speed, fitness and strength without generally looking to focus specifically on one of those things alone (even though you will improve in all 3). The beauty of the workout is it balances running to maintain HR in a zone where you will achieve maximum caloric burning but for relatively short periods of time I.e 1-4 minutes so you can get confident Running full out sprints for short periods. Having gone through cycles of going regularly and not going so often I can tell you the improvement in posture, overall energy and of course weight loss is pretty immediate and impressive. Other pros: clean facility, great childcare, super nice people. Would highly recommend it to anyone read more

Dropped in this weekend with a friend to see what it is all about. First, I love the location. The class times are great too, and the staff super friendly. I normally do crossfit and am looking for something different. This was a good workout, lots of running, but also some floor work. I didn't feel like the workout truly pushed me as much as it could have, but it has a similar feeling to orange theory fitness, minus the hr monitor and splat points. It was very busy, and lots of great energy with showers and childcare! Unlimited 1 month for the grand opening is $125, I think it's normally $135. Seems a bit high for what you get but this is the going rate for these types of places. Would probably be better for Someone looking to get fit vs challenging themselves to take their fitness to the next level. read more

Amazing full body workout! I always leave feeling exhausted in the best way. You spend half the time on a treadmill or elliptical and half the time using weights or completing body weight exercises. The environment is dark but loud with music so it is great for clearing your mind and focusing on yourself. The only drawback is the price. read more

I just tried Shred415 for the first time. This was actually my first-ever group workout class, so I was a bit nervous when I arrived. However, I arrived about 15 minutes early to meet the instructor. She was genuinely nice and her energy was contagious - I thought she did a wonderful job leading the class for the whole hour. The class is broken into four 15 minute sessions, alternating between floor (strength) work and cardio. As someone who never does strength training (I know, I need to), there were different weights and resistance bands with different intensity, which really allowed me to modify my workout while still completing everything. The one minor thing I would change is I wish the floor moves could be explained a little more, but I also recognize perhaps I should have started with a different class. I wouldn't say this is a class specifically good for beginners, but it's definitely doable. read more

I do not think it is possible to say enough great things about Shred415. I have had tried all types of work out classes, and Shred415 surpasses them all. It's a full body work out that will leave you feeling totally exhausted, but absolutely wonderful at the same time. Workouts typically consist for 4 different 15 minutes intervals. This means you spend about 30 minutes working on the treadmill and 30 minutes working on the floor. The treadmill portion begins by finding your "Ending Warm Up Pace" where you can comfortably run/jog. Speeds increase from here at a level set by the instructor. The floor work out consists of dumbbell, bar, band, or body weight exercises. All instructions are explained over a microphone by the instructor. The atmosphere inside the gym could not be better. Loud music and lights dim make for a high energy work out! read more
