Ashley and her entire team not only met but exceeded every expectation we had for them as the catering team for our wedding. From the very first call we had, Ashley demonstrated top notch organization, attention to detail, and understanding for what we wanted for our special day. Everything was absolutely perfect - Ashley is truly, truly the best person we could ever have had for my daughter's wedding. Ashley and her team are a well-oiled machine. Not only do they provide amazing food, but they also provide amazing service. Every person on the staff, from start to finish, was awesome. From the moment we learned of Ashley's specialization in cocktail-style dining, we were sold on her and Power Events as our wedding caterer. Ashley set up a home tasting of menu items (many of them pre-selected by us) and floored us with the quality and variety of her food. As a full-service caterer, Ashley helped a great deal with linens, designs, and general coordination with our venue. Ashley and her team did an incredible job with our wedding! We met Ashley back in 2019 and after two postponements, we finally got married in 2022. In the years in between, she was an excellent communicator and was very adaptable to any and all changes we had to make. It very much felt like Ashley and her team had our back the whole day and were committed to not only serving incredible food, but also giving us as stress-free a wedding day as possible. Ashley had another wedding that same day and managed to be there right before we walked down the aisle (and got some great photos and video!) and then came BACK to our wedding to enjoy the dancing and check in later on in the night. We had a designated server, Kat, who always made sure that we had a drink in our hand and food on our plate, even when we were on the dance floor. I must have asked for 15 glasses of water and they made sure I was hydrated and happy the whole time! The servers were truly wonderful and we felt lucky to have them there, along with our guests! And that's not even mentioning the quality of the food! All of our guests commented on how great the food was and even though we did a tapas-style event, no one was even remotely hungry. The food just kept coming! There was so much variety and we highly recommend tapas-style for couples looking for more mingling and less stagnation. Post-wedding update! Ashley (chef & owner), Asia (our event coordinator), and the rest of the Power Catering Events crew were absolutely fabulous for our October 2014 wedding! We had an intimate ~60 person wedding, and the day after our wedding all our friends and family were still raving about the delicious food and the friendly service they received from Ashley's overly-accommodating team. Ashley put up with me through countless emails (easily 75+), an in-home tasting, and two site walk-thrus before my wedding. She is approachable, knowledgeable, confident, and professional. Power Catering Events' multitasking team handled last minute allergy notifications, vegetarian, and vegan dietary restriction requests with ease. Working within our budget,* Ashley created a personalized selection of tapas that represents our multicultural family. We had an Italian dish for my mother, a Venezuelan dish for my husband, and a Korean dish for me. Somehow Ashley and her team of chefs were able to replicate authentic flavors while ensuring none of the dishes clashed with one another. In addition to creating phenomenal food, the front-of-house team from Power Catering Events went above and beyond to make our wedding a memorable event for all of our family and friends. I was absolutely blown away by her calm presence and her ability to problem solve when curve balls were thrown at her. The food and presentation was fantastic. I have never thrown an event that was more complimentary of the food and staff. The presentation was artsy and unique. She's one of the integral reasons why our guests had a memorable time. Ashley Power of Power Catering events is a true professional. She recently catered a "heavy hors d'ouvres" reception for about 50 people at my cousin's home. The food was delicious and elegantly presented. The lamb chops with pesto and duck 'n onion crepe were highlights. Standards like shrimp shumai and asparagus tempura disappeared along with delectable mini-mugs of home-made creamy tomato soup served with grilled cheese triangles. Her staff of server and bar tenders were on point in both serving and clearing. The blueberry-mint lemonade was refreshing and perfect for the event. (The open bar was also great.) Stationary displays of fruit were as beautiful to look at as they were tasty to eat. For dessert? Butlered mini desserts like freshly torched creme brulee and petit lemon tartes. Power Catering was recommended by our wedding venue, and we just kind of went with it, which was probably the best decision we made when planning our wedding. First things first, Ashley was extremely knowledgable, helpful and friendly throughout the entire planning process. She was always available, flexible and happy to answer our questions and provide recommendations. The tasting was prepared in our home (!!) where we basically hung out while she worked in the kitchen. We tasted everything that she planned to serve, plus a bunch of options that she wanted us to choose from. We had a couple of tweaks to the menu which she was more than happy to accommodate. We decided to do homemade desserts, so a bunch of family members baked cookies and treats and we dropped them off in tupperware to the venue. We weren't sure what to expect as far as presentation, but we were totally impressed - she had set up a long table with all of the desserts laid out on blocks (so there were levels and depth to the display), and had put some beautiful decor around it. You would not have believed it was all homemade. Ashley also casually mentioned that our package included a cheese table - again we were shocked at how amazing and beautiful it turned out! There were cheeses, fruits, meats, spreads and a bunch of different crackers and breads. It was perfect. And then there is the food! Everything was delicious, and people have since told me how amazing it was, how there was plenty of food (this seemed to be a worry when I told everyone that we weren't serving a seated meal). Some people even mentioned trying to recreate some of the hors d'oeuvres at home. Finally, the service. This was truly outstanding. Ashley provided a staff member to help oversee on the day of, and she was one of the highlights of the experience. She was always quick to offer a glass of water (or champagne), escort us somewhere private when guests began arriving (early!), and make sure that we were happy, comfortable and had everything we needed. She also made sure that all of the guests knew where to go and what to do, so we didn't need to worry about that. The other members of the staff also looked out for us all night - ducking out from behind the bar to make sure our drinks were full and that we were taken care of. I really cannot say enough great things about Ashley and Power Catering. They are a huge reason that our day went so perfectly. If I ever have a good reason to throw a cocktail party (and a budget to go with it), I will 100% jump at the chance to hire them again. tl;dr Power is amazing - incredible service, delicious food, tons of knowledge and happy to be flexible and work with you. She was responsive, professional, and just all around fantastic from start to finish. We got proposals from a number of caterers, and Ashley was the only one who didn't nickel-and-dime us. She considered everything we wanted and gave us an honest, comprehensive, and reasonable estimate. She also had a ton of creative ideas for our event, and great recommendations for other vendors. We went with the photographer and music options she suggested, and were thrilled with both. She was enormously patient and accommodating throughout. Our boathouse venue, while beautiful, was not easy to work with, and Ashley went totally out of her way and picked up the slack -- she simply made everything work. Any concern we had or request we made, her response was always, "It's taken care of, don't worry about it!" And the food! Did I mention the food?! We planned our wedding on short notice, so we did not have time to do a tasting. But Ashley inspired such confidence, and her menus were so beautiful, tasteful and varied, that we weren't worried. The food ended up being spectacular. Our guests raved about it for days after the event. Our venue did not have a kitchen, and she and her staff built one from scratch on the balcony. I wowed our guests with this fact all night ... the food was so good and so beautifully presented and served, no one could believe it was prepared outside of a kitchen. We were so lucky to find Ashley to cater our wedding! My husband is a strict vegan and I am a lover of all food including meat and dairy. As soon as we began planning our wedding we knew we wanted a mixed menu of both vegan and non-vegan fare. After a few disappointing meetings with caterers who presented boring, run of the mill menus or insisted that it would be easier to just have a complete non-vegan wedding with just a separate meal for my husband (really? it's his wedding!) we got a recommendation from a friend for Ashley. From my first communication with her I felt at ease, she totally understood what we wanted and was eager to help us. We were able to put together an amazing tapas menu that was 75% vegan and 100% delicious! She is extremely professional, I emailed her probably a dozen times leading up to the event and she always responded quickly (within 24 hours). Ashley is so confident and prepared she is exactly what any bride needs, I really don't think our wedding would've been the same without her. We had an outdoor wedding in a very unique space (The Magic Gardens) and she had some great ideas on how to make the space work for us. The day of the event was amazing, the food was beautiful and delicious and so many guests commented on how friendly the staff was! Ashley's service and food was PHENOMENAL. Every step of the way, from November when we chose her hands down over at least 30 other caterers that we contacted, to the big day, she was quick to respond, had amazing suggestions for our menu and our wedding in general, and worked within our budget. Not only was the preparation and planning spectacular, but when they big day arrived, everything was delicious. I told myself that I was going to eat my wedding food on my wedding day no matter what anyone said, and I'm so glad that I did. We did a summer kabobs menu complete with the best shrimp I ever had, sweet and scrumptious corn risotto, juicy chicken, and all the fixin's. I'm also incredibly thankful that they were able to make such a spectacular desert: a tiered strawberry shortcake. The only thing that I didn't get to eat (photos needed to be taken!) was the amazing passed hor d'oeuvres and cheese display. Boy, it sure did look good. And I was told (when I attempted to live vicariously through those who did get to enjoy it) that it was spectacular. Her staff were also so helpful and sweet. James, the event manager, did a flawless job ironing out all the kinks: from ensuring that guests found their seats to making sure that everything was on schedule. She was so accommodating and offered to change anything we'd like, but we had no changes! She also set up a timeline and coordinated everything like a pro. She developed the perfect fall menu for our cocktail/tapas-style wedding with AMAZING hors d'ouvres and passed tapas. Power Events catered our cocktail style wedding reception a few weeks ago. Ashley was recommended to us by our venue because she had a lot of experience with this style of reception. Even when we initially met her, she easily walked us through a timeline of the day, and whenever I had questions about the logistics of the service she was very reassuring and helpful. Planning a wedding was much more stressful than I ever imagined, and her positive energy was much appreciated throughout the process. The day of our wedding, I got countless compliments about the food from the guests, and the presentation of everything was absolutely beautiful. Ashley even worked with our florist to incorporate his decor with the cheese and dessert tables. All of the servers were incredibly attentive. The woman supervising our reception, Victoria, was amazing as well. We had a view hiccups with our DJ and band's schedule, and she easily worked with everyone to make sure everything went seamlessly. She was also sure that I always had a drink! I really couldn't have been happier with the work of Power Events, and heartily recommend them to anyone. read more

We could not have chosen a better catering company for our intimate wedding reception of 17 guests. During the planning Ashley was very responsive to our e-mails and our many requests and specifications. We have very strict diets and she did research to make sure we could eat from the menu. All the food was absolutely delicious and gorgeously presented. The Power Catering staff decorated our apartment beautifully and was very professional and responsive to anyone who made a request and they cleaned up so nicely at the end. I would recommend the following menu items: the short ribs with aged cheddar, mini crab cakes, agnolotti with brown butter and sage, seared scallops, and pan seared salmon. read more

Power Events catered my wedding in 2009 and it was wonderful! With out going into too much detail, there was a venue change the day of my wedding, but that didn't stop the Power Events staff, everything was moved I time and they even crated specialty drinks we were afraid it wasn't allowed. Absolutely perfect. Ashley catered the social event for an academic meeting I chaired. The food was divine, my favorite being watermelon with black sea salt for dipping. Every dish had the perfect blend of flavors. Her staff were impeccable in their interactions: perfect timing, gracious, they were a pleasure to be around. Ashley took charge of the event early on, making my life a thousand times easier. She was responsive, on top of things, and a pleasure to deal with. Ashley has been AMAZING to work with, beginning to end. Not only is she completely reachable and responsive (always called or e-mailed back within 24 hours) but her food is outstanding. We planned a small, outdoor wedding, and had some very specific ideas. (no sit-down... but passed tapas, and lots of them... plus passed desserts) Ashley listened carefully and worked with us to stay within our budget, and to create something true to our vision. She made suggestions that were really helpful that we would never have thought to ask for. The food itself is not what people think of as "wedding food" but actually prepared to perfection with flavor that will leave you wanting more of whatever you just ate. All of the ingredients are fresh, and the combinations of flavor that she suggests are exceptional. Our joke has been that we need her to come live with us so she can cook for us every day. After the wedding we have continued to hear how amazing the food was from all of our guests. Compliments have also been received on the friendliness and professionalism of her staff. Ashley catered my wedding reception last month, and the entire event ran flawlessly. The last thing you want to do is worry about anything on your wedding day, and Ashley made sure everything was taken care of. Our reception was a sit-down dinner for 130 guests and it was held in a large tent, so Ashley and her staff functioned out of a cook tent. I was amazed at how you never heard any banging or yelling from their tent as you do in restaurant kitchens. Also, our generator went down after dinner and Ashley professionally let me know she was aware of it and a new one was already on its way. I didn't even notice when it arrived and it seemed like the "problem" was taken care of in seconds. I have now had the opportunity to work with Ashley for a few different events and have never been disappointed! My mother in law has had them do a few holiday dinners for the family and most recently we "gifted" a catered dinner to my parents in their home. Hands down the most amazing wedding caterer you could ask for. Ashley was amazing and accommodated everything we asked for and even the things we would have never thought of. Her and her staff were constantly aware of everything in the entire event, and were constantly making adjustments accordingly. Bottom line... she's the best, her staff is the best, and above all her food is the best. Our wedding was almost two months ago and all I hear from our guests is how amazing the food was. So much so, that my wife and I have already talked about hiring Ashley to do our next party (whenever that is haha) and even joked that we would reach out to see if she could remake our menu for us again for a special occasion. That's another thing, it's extremely difficult to eat at your own wedding with everything going on, but Ashley and her staff took extra care to make sure we always had enough to eat. It seemed as though one of the server's main job was to just find us and bring us food haha. End of the day, Power Events is the only option you consider. End of story. There are honestly not enough great words I can say for Ashley and her team. She made our wedding process a total breeze- from the moment we tasted her food, we knew we had to hire her. The day of, Ashley had to make a game time decision when the weather forecast called for thunderstorms. We managed to have part of our ceremony outdoors, and the rest of it inside. Ashley handled it with such class, and every one of our guests agreed that it was one of the most intimate ceremonies they have been to. Power Catering Events catered and coordinated our outdoor wedding of close to 200 guests, and I can't say enough about how wonderful Ashley and her staff are. All through the planning process, Ashley was flexible and organized, and really helped create our dream wedding reception in a somewhat challenging location. When we arrived, everything looked stunning, and her staff was exceptional. Our guests can't stop talking about how delicious the food was, and how great the service was. Ashley and her staff were friendly and professional, and handled all requests efficiently and graciously. Ashley handles unpredicted problems better than anybody I've ever met or worked with. Between hurricanes, last minute flooding that destroyed our food, an intoxicated guest taking out a bar's worth of glassware, it would be understandable if things were less than perfect for our party. But Ashley solved everything quickly and with apparent ease. She called some friends and worked OVERNIGHT to re-do our food, and was still energetic and completely together during set-up and our event. None of our guests were aware of any of it, and we didn't even have time to stress since she resolved things before we found out! Power Catering Events is not just a catering company. I hired Ashley to provide some catered hors d'oeuvres, arrange for some rented items (tables, chairs, linens, etc.), and provide serving/clean-up help during our family Thanksgiving dinner this past week. She is nothing short of amazing. If you're looking for a caterer, look no further! I have had several experiences with caterers in my professional career for large-scale events, but never for a smaller, family, in-home holiday. I was a little unsure of having a caterer in my home for such an event but due to various circumstances, I needed the help and got lucky to find Ashley available. First of all, Ashley is a very sweet, articulate, extremely efficient professional who walks in the door with a sense of purpose and confidence. She asked me to show her what I had set up at that point and a little around the kitchen. In less than 4 minutes she said "ok, got it" and politely took over my kitchen. With a sense of relief and shear joy that someone competent was there to help, I walked out of my kitchen for the remainder of the afternoon/evening. I don't think anyone got two steps closer to the kitchen with an empty glass or a dirty dish in their hands without Ashley instantly appearing, taking the item and disappearing as quickly back into the kitchen. She was very careful to not let anyone "help" do her job. Ashley was friendly to all of our guests but never lost focus on what she was there to do. I was a little worried about having a stranger in our home to help on a holiday, but she is very likable and has a way of immediately making people comfortable. I asked Ashley to provide several appetizers. All were mouth-watering and she arranged everything in a very appealing manner on my dining room table. The food was so good no one wanted to be too far away from it and hung around the dining room for quite a while. After we had all finished our dinner, I thought I had better help Ashley in the kitchen just for a few minutes. After all, she was no doubt up to her elbows in dirty dishes, glasses and baking pans like I am when the dinner is over, right? Wrong. I walked in shocked to see my kitchen practically spotless and everything stacked neatly where I had suggested. I don't know how this beautiful, delightful professional does it! She makes it all seem effortless. My dinner was small but there is no question that Ashley is extremely capable with any size event you may have. She is responsive, organized, quick-thinking, creative, and very service-oriented. On top of all that her food is "to die for". Ashley will be my "go to" caterer going forward.
