Always fix my lawn mower. 3rd time now, reasonable, cheap, (cheaper than they should be lol) and honest. Always been happy when I come here

Unfortunately I had a small hiccup with a purchase, but when I called the store manager, she…read morerectified the situation immediately. I absolutely compliment her on correcting the issue without hesitation. The store itself is loaded to the brim with beautiful plants and every accessory you could need. I've never seen such a selection that fun pots in every color you can imagine, watering cans galore and cute garden accessories. Really they have everything you'd want in a garden center. The place is quite far from my home but I'm glad I found County Fair Garden Center, and willl make a stop there anytime I'm in that part of town. Shop local.

I enjoy stopping by on occasion to peruse houseplants and plant/garden supplies. They're a bit more…read moreexpensive than the big box stores but I like to support local and the employees are generally very friendly and helpful. The last time I purchased some plants, I took them home only to discover they all had mealy bugs, aphids, AND slugs. I took them back and was refunded, but they tried first to tell me it was simple to treat the pests. As someone with quite a few houseplants, it's just not worth it for me to have to treat pest-ridden plants before adding them to my collection. The following time I stopped by, I checked the same plant display and it seemed that the issue might have been resolved. So that's the only caveat... if purchasing here, make sure to thoroughly check for pests before bringing home.

Arkansas Valley Seed is a very good seed store and appreciate all they do. However, they recently…read moreclosed their Rocky Ford store and that negatively impacts the south east and southern Colorado farmers and ranchers. They now have to drive to Denver for ag seed. This is an extra cost in time and fuel for many already on a shoe string budget.

I've used the Dry-land grass seed at a couple different homes…read more The first one was in The Pinery. We had a very small front yard where we reluctantly used sod from another company. The backyard, which was easily 3 times the size, we used the Dry-land seed. The front yard needed fertilizer sprayed about once a month, and watering twice a day for about 15 minutes every morning and 10 minutes every evening. More water than that, and we got mushrooms, less and the sod turned sickly. The Dry-land grass seed took off quickly, and once established, it was beautiful! Thicker and greener than the sod. And it took 20 minutes of watering every 3 days! We used to build houses, and we told everyone about our wonderful grass. I'm not sure how many people actually used it, but everyone was extremely impressed. After about 2 1/2 years at that house in Parker, we built ourselves another house out in Elizabeth Colorado. Elizabeth soil is Sandy dry and no actual topsoil out there to be found. We had one load of topsoil delivered for entire backyard, which was large. (I thought that we should have gotten two loads. But I was out voted.) We spread the dry-land grass seed around and raked it in with a small tractor and hand rakes. Twice, we had torrential rains, right after the grass sprouted and started to barely turn green, that washed most of the grass seed down the hill. The third time, it finally stuck and we had a beautiful lawn, for the 14 years that I lived there, with very little water needed. The funny thing was that the bottom of our lot was greener than any other spot on our 5 acre land, because that was where all of that grass seed ended up, and it was a low spot from three different directions leading to a culvert. It was so thick that it would bog down our 42 inch riding mower. But, it looked absolutely beautiful. Out there, with garbage soil, we watered about every other day for 10 minutes per zone. We aerated the yard every year or two, after about three years, and I used the spray weed and feed once a year as well. So, I hope Arkansas Valley Seed Company still has that mix. Because it is wonderful. We had dogs and kids and adults on the grass all the time, and it was always amazingly beautiful. I highly recommend this company. Valerie Fidrich Fidrich Construction
