This was a…read morefollow up after trying another dentist in Brookings, OR, who spent five minutes talking to me and then told me he needed to send me off to a specialist for a root canal. Turns out I didn't need a root canal, I needed my bite adjusted, which they did on the first visit. Dr Butler was great, very patient, explained what he saw on the Xray, talked over different things like do I grind my teeth (I don't think so), and eventually checked my bite. Which is where we found the issue. They took photos of the tooth and pulled them up on a screen, and talked through all of it clearly and without being condescending or dismissive. All equipment modern, up to date, chairs comfortable. Its a bit too cold, but I tend to expect that with dentists. I hate dentists. This one is not like the others. Highly recommend.

I agree with the other reviewers who say this office feels more like a family experience than visiting a clinic. The front office staff also spent a lot of time explaining the billing process and detailing information about my insurance plan. Their transparency in medical billing was refreshing and much appreciated. I am actually looking forward to my next appointment, which is unusual since I used to enjoy the dentist about as much as I like doing taxes. Lonn is also a runner and coaches a local group, which fits into the Eugene running culture perfectly.

While I have "cheated" in my dental care throughout my life, benefiting from minimal cavities, gum disease has no mercy. It plagues me constantly, and others like me. Yet, this office has helped me change my lifestyle and my health is prospering. Why? They put the patients' care top of list, delivering sober messages that: "not flossing is not an option, just do it. And the technique you've adopted as brushing needs to be relearned." Stopping the exam to highlight my deficiencies, devoid of shame but full of encouragement, teaching me the best methods that resulted in improvement that showed in 90 days and remain strong. I have a lot of damage to my teeth from a rough and tumble life, and harbor an innate fear of losing all my teeth, and dental work in general. They are so kind to me. The hygienists are friendly, the bright energy is the perfect distraction from what can be a really uncomfortable situation, and every procedure I've had done has zero problems after the fact. I use state medical and they treat my whole little family like people, not cattle as some offices do, with the equal care and attention they'd give anyone across the board. My boys are handled with enthusiasm and come out laughing. Getting them positive experiences with the dentist is really important. When they've needed more extensive care than this office provides, they work hard to make sure we're connected with the right services based on their experience. When we did have a problem with a different office the one time it happened, they were emphatically upset on our behalf and helped us remedy the problem, taking serious note of our experience for their own future dealings. That says a lot. Professional, clean, fast (so important) and patient with Ridesource clients, I can't say I love going, because it's the dentist, but I don't think I'll be changing as long as I'm in the area.

I genuinely cannot say enough good things about Dr. Jill…read more I had a dental emergency late at night after an accident knocked one of my front teeth significantly out of place. I was scared, in pain, and had absolutely no idea what to do. I left a message through their emergency line, and Dr. Jill personally returned my call within minutes. She immediately jumped into action and went incredibly far above and beyond for me. She calmly walked me through what to do step by step (over the phone), stayed with me while I got my tooth back into position, checked in repeatedly about my pain and bleeding, reviewed my medications with me, answered every question I had, explained exactly what symptoms would mean I needed to go to the ER, and made sure I understood what follow-up care I would need. What struck me most was how incredibly kind she was. I was panicked when this happened, and she never once made me feel rushed, embarrassed, dramatic, or like I was inconveniencing her. She was patient, reassuring, knowledgeable, and genuinely cared about making sure I was okay. By the end of the call, my tooth was back where it belonged, my pain had significantly improved, and I had gone from being terrified to feeling like I understood what had happened and what I needed to do next. What makes this even more meaningful to me is that I wasn't even an established patient of Dr. Jill's or the dental office's. It was late at night, she had never met me, and she simply heard that someone was frightened and needed help and did everything she could to help me. That kind of humanity is rare, and I will not forget it. If this is how she treats someone she had never even met before, I can only imagine how well she takes care of her patients. Thank you, Dr. Jill. Truly. You were an absolute angel to me tonight.
