I was recommended to Dr. Richard Smith by a co-worker so I immediately received a $50 credit. I had needed to break up with my previous dentist as he was over priced, wanted to do root canals on multiple teeth and his staff were more focused on office politics than patient care. Dr. Smith and his staff are amazing. The 3D x-rays showed I did not require any root canals. In one visit I was able to have 4 teeth fixed including a crown which they create on site so no temporary crowns! All four teeth came to the same out of pocket cost my previous dentist had quoted me to fix ONE tooth with an unnecessary root canal. When I decided to get Invisalign braces I saw Dr Andrew Tillman. Also a wonderful experience! When I suffered some irritation due to tray roughness they arranged additional appointments to file my trays until I had a perfect fit. I've since referred 2 of my friends who each received $50 credit (I get two $50 credits for the referrals too!) Usually people do not like to go to the dentist, but the entire staff, from reception to hygienist, dental assistants and dentists are so welcoming and pleasant I actually look forward to my appointments! read more

In my opinion, Dr. Richard Smith is the best cosmetic dentist in town. I had heard great things about him so I went in for a consultation because my front teeth were beginning to chip badly. I decided to have veneers done on my top six front teeth because they looked like they would be so much more natural than just crowns. Wow! I was so impressed with the work Dr. Smith did, and my new teeth are beautiful! I love the way they look. Sure it's not cheap, but it's true, you get what you pay for. I know they will last me a very long time so it's very worth the price you pay. Dr. Smith and his staff are top notch and make you feel so comfortable and well taken care of when you go in. I can't recommend the Smile Institute enough. I have been a patient for 8 years and the doctors and staff get better, more education and newest, cutting edge technology. Yesterday I went in for my cleaning, the annual x-rays shown I needed a crown. I WAS NERVOUS. When I arrived for my appointment, I explained my drug allergies, no problem, they had the solution. When Dr. Tillman administered the numbing agent injection, I felt nothing. No needle prick, no pressure from the solution, nothing! They built the crown while I waited. It is a perfect fit. I was in and out of my appointment in less than 2 hours with a tooth that looks like my real teeth. This was the best experience I ever had at a dentist's office. read more

If I could give ZERO stars, I would. Be very careful of this dentists practices. He likes to charge people for things not received or services not rendered, and then put a ding on your credit. I have tried fighting with BBB and the collection company and their company, but it's a case of his word over mine just because he's a dentist. He knows it's not right what he did, $$$ is the root of all evil. And interestingly enough, they are not an accredited business with the BBB. I recently had two crowns done by Dr. Smith. I like that the office is conveniently located in Oakway Center area of Eugene. Dr. Smith himself is a knowledgeable dentist with many years of experience and it shows. I went to him after some bad dental work out of the country and he was quick to point to the problem and map out the solution. He also has the ability to make the crown on the same day which saved me from a second visit (and a second time getting numb!). The office staff is friendly and welcoming. dr smith is a handsome,caring, pain free dentist. he pays attention to your concerns and desires and works within your budget. Rich (Dr. Smith ) has taken care of our families teeth for more than 20 years .He has done a better job than I have..... but Rich always comes to the rescue . They always have the latest technology, and I like that they always tell you right off how much insurance will cover on a given procedure.
