If you aren't a very specific vibe, you're screwed. Pretty good drinks and great music though!

(Due to a water leak...next time tell your guests in time before we have to beat the traffic downtown) When booking a reservation you have to place a card on file if you cancel a day before they will charge you $25 a person. If the restaurant cancels your reservation an hour before your set reservation (7:30pm) they give you nothing. My wife and I made accommodations to come to this establishment for a night out, while paying for a parking garage the establishment let us know they might not open till 8:30pm while parking around 6:30pm we thought okay let's kill time. They later tell us they cannot honor our place because they have to honor the 9 o'clock reservations. Not that we wanted a later reservation but they just kicked us to the side and expect us to visit later? I think not! I will never attempt to go back. Thank you. Next. read more

Powder Room - Message - Cocktail Bars Near Me - Austin, Texas

Beautiful atmosphere and lots of pretty faces to look at. Drinks were the best and the staff always super friendly. Kai really kept us laughing made sure our area was pristine. Will be back next week! read more

Adam was a great server! This place had a chic cool atmosphere and the menu was a very cool concept and intriguing.

Powder Room curates such an amazing ambiance by forcing everyone to put away their phones. First 5-10 mins you'll be anxious without it but then you'll open up and be more social. Every time I go I have to order drinks from Connor - he's amazing and haven't seen a drink he couldn't make. Would recommend for any special occasion. read more

amazing experience-beautifully crafted cocktails and the most beautiful sexy cozy interior. Adam led us in the right direction for drinks and honestly made the night so fun and memorable for us. Most fun I have had out in a while! Try the red pepper drink cocktail. Haven't had anything like it. 10000/10- will be returning ASAP! read more

A great vibe inside, but the hostess lady was very rude and had a vibe about her that she was better than us which honestly ruined the whole experience for us. read more

The ambience and bar itself is cool - nice decor. Service was a miss, our server changed numerous times and disappeared to the back only to reappear 30 minutes later like they never left. Didn't have food. 2 seemingly "regulars" came in and so every girl waitress had to take their turn going to say hi which likely caused a backlog. Odd for an upscale bar to refill their Aesop bottles with regular pink hand soap though...just get normal dispensers instead of trying to come off like you're using luxe soap? It was a weird experience in that aspect...definitely lowered the vibe. read more

Thank you Rachel you made sure we all had a good time. We'll see you again soon dig your vibe.

Very nice spot! The place has a lot of class, great for relaxing! It was awesome to not be on the phone or to have the glare of a phone in your peripheral vision. Music was very nice lots of variety in song stylings, but I really vibed with the atmosphere when jazzy house music or something like it played. 10 out of 10 for me! read more

We went for Cocktails and they were awesome the atmosphere was amazing. One thing is the lock your phones up, so if you go on a date you are actually going to have to talk to one another I thought it was a great idea. My Service was amazing the drinks that were recommended were amazing 10/10 for me read more

We had the best time at Powder Room tonight! Adam was phenomenal, so knowledgeable of the menu and really listened to our preferences and made the perfect recommendations. Food was delicious, just the perfect amount to take the edge off and complement the cocktails. Loved that we had to check our phones and just be present in the moment, the space and with each other! Can't recommend this spot enough! A must visit when in Austin! read more

Positives: The menu is cute and I like that they take your phones before you walk in. We were here for the soft opening awhile back and sat at a table and that was a good experience. The ambiance is great and I love the vibe. I got a good cocktail recommendation tonight. Negatives: We walked in and sat at the bar and from the start the bartenders were complaining about their work schedule and cocktails, which is not really the energy I was looking for. I get it but just talk about that stuff in the back where patrons can't hear every word you're saying. They also messed up like 3 separate drinks from other tables while we were there. My partner ordered a Bat Out Of Hell which has "ice optional" and comes with seasoned chickpeas. He received the drink and when he asked for ice the woman that was bartending snapped and said "just so you know that doesn't come with ice". Which 1) it doesn't really matter? I just want ice? And 2) when he said "oh well it says it on your menu" she said "ha I promise it doesn't". I just think the interaction was completely weird and unnecessary. Then they never brought out the chickpeas and when we asked for them they ran out and brought us chips which is fine but it was like 8:00pm??? The woman who was bartending just ruined the experience for me because it felt awkward after that and no one said bye when we left. TLDR: cute bar and menu, would never sit at the bar top again. read more

Cool spot. Great atmosphere and people. Make sure to go early or make a reservation since it can be hard to get in

What a cool hang out! I took my friend here to celebrate getting a new job, and we had an amazing time. Our server Adam was incredibly friendly, took the time to get to know us, and made the night super special. I always appreciate a menu with no and low alcohol options. If I have a critique, it's that I wish there was a menu available online just so I could remember what I had. I'll definitely be returning. read more

As a content creator, taking my phone was stressful lol but I'm happy they did. I had the best chat with my friends. This place was so great. I love an aesthetically pleasing place. The drinks were top tier. I had a couple drinks off-menu but they did disappoint. My server was Melody! If you can request anyone, plz request her. She was prompt, personable and over all very great at her job. Cant wait to come back. read more

The best energy and vibes. Also don't be scared when they take your phone it's actually relaxing. The best snacks and bites (get the grilled cheese and the cookies ) it's soooo good. Adam was so helpful in what drinks we should get and also the order to have them. He described them so well and we literally couldn't miss with each drink. The decor will make you want to redecorate and the noise level was perfection. Love place and coming back for my birthday! read more

While the vibe in this place was insane, decorations were nice and the lighting was amazing, the music was horrible. I went here for my birthday, as our first bar on 6th st. On top of the bartenders not knowing what a sidecar is, we ended up getting charged almost $40 for a singular drink. Our waitress was rude, and for our party of only 5 they forced gratuity on all of us, so they could act however they wanted. The entire staff kept side eyeing and mean mugging us while we were just trying to enjoy ourselves. And to add insult to injury, I paid cash for my singular $32 sidecar, and our server had the gall to ask if I wanted change! Absolute nightmare, don't come here if you want to drink and enjoy your night. read more

Took our phones away. Someone took our table and no one did anything about it. The hostess was so rude at the front of the place when checking us out read more

Very cool speakeasy with good tasting drinks. The vibe was immaculate and the decor transported you. The only con is that their drinks are quite pricey and the quantity is small read more

First time and I absolutely loved it! Went right before it got busy (9:30ish) and it was perfect timing. The drinks were all so amazing, the menu was so creative, vibes were immaculate and the staff was so sweet! I absolutely love the idea of no phones- takes you back in time and I didn't even feel like I was in Austin for a second. Our server, Adam, was such a sweetheart and guided us throughout the evening. They even went the extra mile for me- I forgot my hair tie and one of the hosts let me borrow her hair clip. Such a kind and little gesture that meant a lot! Felt very welcome here. Can't wait to come back to Austin and try more drinks! read more

Dude at the door said "to dress for a venture capital anniversary" when I had a collared shirt and pants on. Rude as hell and even insulted the group in front of us. Only venture he looks like he should take is on a treadmill. Train better front of staff. read more

Came here on a Saturday night to find a line of 15-20 people, very mixed crowed when it came to ages and attire. It does not seem like the powder room has found its niche for clientele. Waited in line an obscenely long time only to enter to see the bar half filled. We had called to make reservations in advance, and were told they were booked solid. Yet, there were empty tables everywhere and they would not let us sit or make a reservation. I understand the vibe they are going for- but to treat people and the line as if you're an exclusive club, only to have empty tables and rude bouncers isn't going to attract the type of business you're looking for. I imagine this place won't stay open long if they don't make major changes. - They also take your phones- which leans into the privacy and "speakeasy" vibe- but there was nothing inside the club I would have wanted to photograph anyways- so it seems like a hype just to be let down. The menu is a faux magazine and very confusing to try to find drinks on with the dim lights and overcrowded pages. Cater to your client's experience and work on customer service instead of treating attendees rudely. read more

Classy, no phones allowed, and nice staff. Definitely get a reservation a week in advance. Entrance is hidden.

Gorgeous interior! Loved the dim lighting and that classic feel Drinks and service were both good, and we really appreciated the cellphone-free policy (we checked our phones at the front desk). I love the idea of table-side cocktails; their signature cocktails and the menu style are so neat! read more

Great drinks and ambiance! Brought my best friend here from New York and our server Rachel made our experience wonderful. She was very attentive and made us feel right at home. Definitely will be coming back!! read more

This was such a fun place to celebrate my birthday. Make sure to make a reservation as it gets quite packed.

It's giving Austin powers, great gatsby vibes. I'm a big fan of their no phone policy...talk to your friends people. Really enjoyed the Spicey gummy drink (I don't remember what it's called but it's not on the main cocktail page it's on a different page in their menu). But all the drinks I tasted were good and definitely strong. Housemade chips and dip from Mattie's and a great place to dress up if you like to do that every once in a while. I'll definitely be back, had a really good experience read more

This is such a cool spot in Austin! The ambiance and overall vibe is amazing and something special for Austin. It would be a great venue for a bachelor/bachelorette but also date night. I happened to go with some work colleagues and we had a blast. Didn't try the food but drinks are yummy. Service was good. Also pro tip: the sandwich shop outside (Manny's) has an unbelievable Cuban! read more

No phones allowed so no pictures, but Powder Room was incredible and we can't wait to go back! The space is gorgeous and the cocktails are inspired and delicious. Also the chips and dip side was a perfect appetizer before heading out to dinner. We went early so the mood was chill and we could easily talk and enjoy our phone-less time together. Definitely will be back! Welcome addition to the downtown cocktail scene. read more

I have the best time at powder room. The vibes are great and staff is so friendly! My server Angel made sure our night was enjoyable and perfect! We will be back! read more

Great ambience, fun drinks and outstanding service. A great location for business happy hour.

Best lounge in Austin. Great aesthetic and design. Amazing staff. The food out front was really good - I recommend The Rachel sandwich.

I came after the funeral for my late husband, Barry, with some friends. The server Rachel was quirky and fun. She knew a lot about the menu. She lifted my spirits. If only she could lift his. 5 stars. read more

Amazing ambience and super comfortable. The drinks were amazing and our server, Madison, had the amazing skill to recommend the perfect drinks for our party. She was pleasant, and we never felt like we were being rushed. She checked on us often but her timing was perfect as we never felt interrupted. Great place, great service, great evening. read more

Powder Room is exactly what Austin needs! Amazing ambience with a great DJ. The cocktails are impressive and the staff is incredibly welcoming. They take your phones upon entering, which I really enjoyed. It gives you and the people you are with to actually enjoy each others company and not just see life through your phone screen. Will definitely be back, over and over again! read more

Amazing experience! The service was the absolute best thanks to Rachel! The food and ambiance will have me coming back!

New coolest place in town. The design and ambience is amazing. NYC or LA caliber speakeasy in Austin. The lights mimic a sunset going up and down, such a vibe. I've never seen anything like it before. I love the plants with the sun, it makes you feel like you're in Mexico. Make sure to try the Hollywood Husband if you like tequila Ps. Order the cookie to the table. So good. read more

This was one of the best and most fun nights of my life, thanks to Adam. He gave fantastic drink recommendations, his banter was incredible, he answered all of our (many!) questions, he gave thoughtful recommendations, and he was SO attentive throughout the night. Very polite, friendly, and conversational. Probably the best service I've ever received and he made the already incredible experience a million times better. Thank you Adam!!!! read more
