This is the first year I've gone to the PQ Fiesta and it certainly didn't disappoint. What was…read morespecial about this year is that it's the first year that there was a street parade. The first year obviously has it's hitches, but for the most part, everything ran smoothly. The parade started at Mt. Carmel High School and went for a mile, ending by the shopping Vons/Rite Aid shopping center. The traffic in the area was horrible, but SDPD did it's best to maneuver and direct cars accordingly. Definitely the potential to have more participants in next years parade. I walked with my fiancee's group in the parade representing Councilmember Cate. We waved and handing out lollipops and info on city information to onlookers of the parade. Very well received. The parade was 1 mile long and we walked the route. It was cool seeing all the PQ residents come out and support! At the end we walked through the booths, and surprisingly the there were over 100+ booths to look. My fiancee had a booth by the stage so we hung out there before the program at the stage started. Volunteer organizations and kids got awards for their outstanding community service. So cool they all got recognized on stage for their community contributions. Tons of booth with food, community organizations, rides, info booths - all worthwhile to come and visit this fiesta. I can only imagine it'll only get bigger! Kudos PQ for having a great event!

Have two boys who love cars, this is a blessing every summer to get the kids out of the house. I love all the little shops and restaurants along Grand. And I am so happy that this festival brings them business. I've bought some good art pieces at one of the shops and I try to stop in every time we go to see what new items they have. There all walks of life and it's great to see everyone out and about. There are different bands playing at each of the intersections. There is a good police presence so I feel safe for the most part. The homeless don't seem to be a problem. If they are there, they stay away. All in all it's a great place to see the awesome cars and grab some food and have a good time with your friends. I hope more businesses will open up along Grand. I have no doubt the place will be thriving in a couple of years when the Escondido master plan is complete.

It's very popular judging by the crowds there and free for everyone to attend Friday nights but only for half the year. Beware of the traffic during that time!! The live music is nice to hear while the community cruise around snacking on some kettle corn from a local vendor. It's basically a great place to just hangout or try the nearby shops and restaurants/bars afterwards. Everyone is super friendly too. This is definitely a must-see for the Yelp Community to cruise on by!!!

I've ever seen the only way they didn't notice it is if they were blind when they were setting up or stupid. I think the best part was the meal they served,it was tri-tip and chicken but the tri-tip was so overcooked It was like eating a leather shoe. I give the Ramona rodeo zero stars for this year!!

The stands were jam packed, and no seats available even though we arrived 45 minutes before show. Many, many people left unable to get a seat. The standing room along the fence is good, but you got to compete with a people to get close enough for a good view, and fence line was not good for our shorter young kids to get a view as the kids had to jostle with inebriated adults for a spot at the rail. The VIP or deluxe seating looks much better, you don't need to fight for space - they apparently do not over-sell that space. Rodeo was good, we will be back, but we'll spend extra this year for the civilized seating so we don't have to arrive 4 hours early for a seat or wrestle space at the rail.

There's even a rooftop lounge. There's plenty of public lots and street parking nearby, which makes getting in and out easy. There's never trouble finding parking during evening events. The theater is located downtown near some great restaurants and places to grab drinks. The concessions are simple and reasonably priced. The staff members are friendly and welcoming. This change came late in the process, after we had begun planning. Communication was inconsistent & the situation was handled very unprofessionally by both the caterer & the general manager. We were also informed the GM actually contacted another venue to make inquiries about our possible booking & run a background on our event coordinator. While this venue advertises hosting outside events, in our experience the room was withdrawn after initial confirmation in favor of others. This was especially significant as the gathering was planned for a senior veteran. Based on our experience, we highly suggest exploring other venues in the area that were much more respectful and professional.

Her customer service was truly amazing. We arrived when there were two birthday parties happening making the place a bit....busy. However, Sam made my small party of 3 feel welcomed & included. She took the time to explain everything clearly and kept the atmosphere fun. Although Sam was amazing, I also have to say that I was able to witness the other employees and how well they took care of the birthdays. They were patient, attentive, and genuinely seemed to care that every guest was having fun and felt included. It's rare to come across a whole team who puts that much effort and enthusiasm into their job, and it made our visit memorable. Thank you for the amazing service and positive attitude. Employees like this are a huge reason people want to come back. Highly recommend this place because of the exceptional staff!

Sunday, May 16, 2010 was the culmination of San Diego River Days. A family-friendly Festival was…read moreheld on the grounds of Qualcom Stadium parking lot and a good time was had by all. Though the day dawned overcast and soon a steady breeze made things brisk, the Festival was a big hit-especially with the younger crowd. RiverFest Adult 5k & a Kid's 1k Fun Run brought out the inner-athlete is many children. Quite a few family pet dogs also participated in the runs. In addition, there was an Outdoor Recreation Festival, Artist Village, Climbing Wall and Other Family-Focused Activities. The Fern Street Circus-San Diego's single-ring circus- performed their amazing feats for the crowd. The kids riding uni-cycles were fantastic. There was more than 30 booths on hand with information about local parks, trails and volunteer opportunities. Free food from local restaurants such as Pat & Oscars and Mimi's Cafe. Solar and other green living displays and an awesome plant sale. Project Wildlife brought a large raven to display that had been injured and made not releasable into the wild. I Love a Clean San Diego and Friends of Famosa Slough were there; so was Coast-Keeper San Diego which does a lot of habitat restoration projects. Live, local music was spectacular. A young trio of local kids named Oculus Sinister rocked out and they were great! The New Assembly, HarpCo and Gregory Page also performed through out the day. From the website: "The vision of the San Diego River Park is a greenbelt from the mountains to the ocean along the 52 mile long San Diego River. This greenbelt is really a trail system and a clean and healthy river system which connects a diversity of parks, open spaces, public places and community facilities spread out along the length of the River." What a great concept and dream this is! The Foundation is working to achieve this goal by "partnering with government agencies such as the San Diego River Conservancy, business and civic leaders and a wide range of public organizations. By promoting stewardship of the River and promoting a better understanding of the River's natural systems, the San Diego River Park Foundation is endeavoring to enhance the quality of life in San Diego." Their Festival in celebration of all this was a fun, free way to have learn more about the River environment and support it as well.
