We came here for my 30th Birthday weekend. The bartenders are friendly and their drinks are great here and we had nice seats here. It definitely gets busy here at night. Just love the country vibes here

moonshine flats - always come with my sister and I always have fun! beers are decently priced. dancers are always great to watch! i like when they have nights they teach us dances. great customer service! fun arcade and beer pong games!!! bean bag toss, pool, cup pong. dj in the other section plays r&b, pop. definitely a more chill, casual vibe :)

This place is fun! The line dancing is a good time. They go too fast though and don't teach well. Very hard to pick up the dances they do They don't have a separate area to dance so your stuck watching people line dance or trying to learn and It's hard I wish they would offer a free style area to have fun dancing at as well It was a fun time though

Best country bar in San Diego! Line dancing, live music, great staff, great drinks. The place you to be on a weekend night! I've been going for years and staff members like Hannah Bergman always make it a good time. If country music isn't your thing, the DJ takes over late at night on the weekends to keep the party going. There is something for everyone here. If you're downtown, not stopping by would be a huge mistake!

I had an amazing time when we celebrated one of our close friends' birthday at the Moonshine Flats / The Deck. It was my first time there, and I wasn't sure what to expect, but it turned out, had a blast! The menu at The Deck was quite limited, which they said was because of the Padres game. Our server was very nice. Considering she was busy, she kept that smile on. We ordered a soft pretzel, a 12-inch hotdog that was a bit dry and overcooked, and some chicken tenders. The setup was pretty cool, with backyard-style games like cornhole, shuffleboard, and ping pong. There was even a giant Pac-Man game! We got cocktails to go with our order. There was an adjoining walkway to Moonshine Flats, where the real fun begins, dance time ! There was a big wooden dance floor.. line dancing and they do tutorial. The DJs played a mix of country, rock, and pop music. The stage was pretty big, and at 10 pm, they started the live concert. It was Jordan Rainer from The Voice! You want to see the entire dance floor ? Get to the second deck. Check out moonshine flats website for the line-up on who's performing LIVE. Bar at by the dance floor as well as The Deck. The dance floor was a little slippery from the drinks that probably spilled while raising those glasses during the concert. The place is in downtown, so it's a good idea to carpool or take Uber/Lyft. If you get there before 8 pm, there's no cover charge. So if you have not been here yet, give it try. Get those dancing boots on and get ready to have FUN. ** forgot Jordan's back up singer's name , you're so awesome ,

Taking a trip to San Diego and considering visiting this bar. Is it strictly line dancing or is country swing/ partner 2 step welcomed?

When I've been here there is more line dancing than not, mostly due to the crowds. I have been able to do some partner dances, usually before it gets too busy. If you're coming on the weekend and want to partner dance, I'd get here early!

    Is it 18+?

It is 21+. But the restaurant/bar connect to Moonshine Flatts, The Moonshine Deck, is under 21 until around 9pm! That is where all the fun is and the roof opens! All kinds of fun games and good food with great mocktails! One of our favorites.

One would not be disappointed. The cocktail menu was on an old record, which I thought it was so clever. Back to the rules, seems pretty easy! They mention to keep an open mind with the drinks as they do not carry vodkas, redbull, Budweiser or bulls**t. Mentioned a dresscode, more so be classic and states be respectful and don't be a di*k. Multiple bystanders witnessed his behavior but failed to intervene, assuming it was just "relationship drama" After the man finally left, the venue's security completely misread the situation. Instead of checking on my well-being or ensuring the aggressor had left the premises, security targeted and chased me as if I were the problem. It is incredibly disappointing and dangerous for a business's security team to lack the basic situational awareness and training required to identify the actual victim in a situation. I felt entirely unprotected by the staff here. I hope management takes this as a serious sign that their security team needs immediate retraining on bystander intervention and de-escalation, rather than harassing women who are already in vulnerable situations.

I explained that I wasn't "talking to myself" I was reciting music (my own or somebody else's , as I often do karaoke). He said "Ok. I'm still not letting you in." with an attitude. What the hell? Never once have I caused an issue at this bar. All the security guards know me. I've never seen this guy before in my life so I guess he thought he could bully me for no reason. What a shame. To top it all off when I got irritated with him he laughed in my face and loudly yelled "Weirdo!!" at me in front of multiple witnesses. This is disgusting behavior and incredibly unprofessional. I've been to The Tipsy Crow countless times and never been so insulted and mistreated. I don't know the guard's name but is a short dude, I believe hispanic. The songs were everything from Slim Shady to Elton John and everything in between. Slips of paper were placed on the piano, a nod was given and off they went. The crowd sang along and we all laughed! I had NO IDEA how popular this spot was, nor anything about its nation-wide reputation. I actually didn't know that until two days ago when a Yelp-friend at home here in Richmond, Virginia, exclaimed excitedly when I told her we stopped in. The host who greeted us was kind, informed us there had been a line to get in that day, but that they had one barrel left; we jumped on it of course. It was happy hour, so the first cocktail I ordered was dirt cheap at $9. It was the Imperial Hawaiian with gin, rum, lemon, pineapple, and orgeat. I really shouldn't have ordered a second drink after that one, but I did have the classic Saturn later on in the night and it was absurdly good! Definitely my favorite of the two. My friends come in to help sooth the situation, but no matter what they say the security guard is yelling at them, at me, and continues to pull on me along with other security staff. I did not know that man who had pushed me was security and once I realized it was, I immediately apologized by saying OMG I didn't know you were security, I just thought it was a random guy pushing people! Keep in mind, I am a 4'11'' woman, in heels, a little tipsy, so when I got shoved over (for whatever reason) it made me lose all of my balance and I believe there was absolutely no need for all of that aggression. Anything my friends said or I said did not matter. They wanted me out. Once I was outside this security guard just kept talking down to me and laughing at me. It was the most disrespectful thing I've experienced here. Located in Gaslamp, street parking is your best bet. For most spots, you have to pay metered parking until 10 p.m. I was able to find an exception to the rule around 8:30 p.m. Ambiance (3/5): Werewolf is a pretty laid back bar. Which is right up my alley. This happened to be karaoke night. This may be an unpopular option but I'm not a fan of karaoke. If you are, you're golden. I would've enjoyed the ambiance a bit better on a standard night. We sat at a wooden booth in the back of the restaurant. Service (3/5): You order at the bar (both food and drinks). They were fairly busy on a Wednesday and only two bartenders were working. As a result, service was a bit slow. After placing my order, I closed out. Their cocktail list doesn't list prices. Not a fan of that. I asked the bartender how much some particular cocktails cost, and he didn't go. Not a good look. Drinks (4/5): Werewolf has an interesting list of craft cocktails. Plus a full bar. Just list your cocktail prices on the menu! Food (4.5/5): The food is surprisingly quite good. I went with the wings appetizer (and made them sticky for a dollar extra). Sweet with a little kick. The wings were fried just right with a crispy exterior and juicy inside. Finger-lickin' good! I also couldn't say no to papas balls lol. This appetizer is their version of hushpuppies. Taken to a higher level. Stuffed with mashed tater, bacon, cilantro, cotija, and drizzled with house sauce. Normally, papas balls would scare me, but these are scrumptious. The two appetizers combined were filling for a full meal.

The music is always great. Shoutout to Jason behind the bar. He's consistently friendly and makes the night even better. Honestly, the whole staff does a great job. If you're going with a group, I'd recommend getting a table since it can get really busy. On weekends they have a cover, and it's cash only. There's an ATM inside. Also, pay attention to the dress code. No baseball hats, and they do enforce it. Overall, it's a solid spot for a night out.

Overall a nice nightclub and bar to hang out in downtown San Diego. It's right across the street…read morefrom the ACE parking lot called "Park It On Market" so easy parking. Parking is $10 after 6pm until 3am. The ambiance is modern and sexy. The front part of the venue is a bar with several tables and love seats spread throughout. There's also a small outdoor area with a few tables and bar stools if you need some fresh air. Behind the bar is the actual night club area with the DJ booth, several VIP tables, and a smaller bar. There isn't a dedicated dance floor so people are just dancing wherever there's space. You can get on the guest list through their website for free bar/club entry before 10pm. After 10pm, there is a cover fee of $20 per person. It was quiet around 930pm when we arrived but it got pretty busy by 1030pm and crowded by 1130pm. Note: the back night club area opens at 11pm. If you come before then, only the front bar area is open. They apparently serve food as well but we didn't try it this time. I felt service was great from the bartenders to security to the servers. The DJ was playing awesome hip hop music which was perfect for the vibe. They even have a professional photographer who takes your photo. If you like it, it's $20 for your picture in a frame. Two things that can make it even better: - wish there was a bigger dance floor for those without tables to enjoy the music and dance - wish there was more than 2 bathroom stalls in the women's restroom. With hundreds of people inside, the line can get pretty long.
